What's special?
special Local Experience
Japan is highly ranked on most travel lists and for good reason. The bustling districts of Tokyo 🗼, the shrines and temples of Kyoto ⛩️ or the hot springs of Hakone ♨️. Japan has a lot to offer as it's a great mix of modern architecture and traditional culture. Not to forget the great variety of food which is a lot more than sushi and ramen 🙂 I'm looking for travel mates that want to explore Japan together with me (ideally you are between the age of 25 to 40) 😃. Besides sightseeing there are other fun activities planned on this trip. Like visiting the Universal studios in Osaka including the Super Nintendo World, learning to cook traditional Japanese dishes in a cooking class or visiting a hot spring in the nature of Japan to relax.

About me! I'm Simon, 33, and living in Munich, Germany. Over the past few years, I planned trips to several countries on different continents and made lots of great experiences with people that joined me on each of the trips 🙂

Details about the accommodation: Following expenditures are included ➡️ Accommodation centrally located 🏨 Double rooms in 3-star hotels. One night we are spending in a traditional Ryokan in Kyoto including breakfast and dinner. Single rooms can be organized on request. ➡️ Universal Studios in Osaka 🎢 We are going to visit one of the best theme parks in Japan. Including the Super Nintendo World and a Harry Potter castle 😃 ➡️ Cooking class in Tokyo 🍜 At a professional cooking class, we will learn how to prepare a variety of Japanese dishes over the course of half a day ➡️ teamLab Planets A digital art museum that has become one of the most popular spots in Tokyo to visit due to its stunning aesthetics ➡️ Planning and communication I'll take care of the planning of the trip. Before the trip, we'll talk about your expectations of the trip to make sure we will have a great time together 🙂 ➡️ WhatsApp group chat I'll create a WhatsApp group chat so we can discuss questions and anything trip related before our arrival in Japan. You can also get to know your travel mates. Furthermore, there is the option of a web conference via MS Teams for a more detailed conversation together 😃 ➡️ Travel insurance if you are from Germany or Austria and book via JoinMyTrip Following expenditures are not included ❌ Flights to Japan ❌ Transportation within Japan Most of the time we will travel by train as the train network in Japan is one of the best in the world. Trip Itinerary

Tokyo

Day 1-6
We start in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. With nearly 40 million residents its the largest metropolitan area in the world. Tokyo has a lot to offer like the entertaining districts of Shinjuku and Shibuya, the harbour district of Oidaba, the fashion district of Harajuku and much more . For those that like traditional architecture Asakusa is the place to be as the old town part of Tokyo. Tokyo is also a great place for those that want to shop for souvenirs or explore the large variety of cafés and restaurants 😃 There are many great spots to visit as a day trip from Tokyo. Like Hakone with it's hot springs, Yokohama - the second largest city of Japan or a trip into the Japanese Alps.
2

Hakone

Day 6
Today we will travel to Hakone not far from Tokyo. This place is located on a lake with a view of the famous Mount Fuji. What makes this place special is its onsen culture. There are more than a dozen hot springs here. So the perfect place to relax a bit and recover from the sightseeing strains of the first days 😃
3

Kyōto

Day 6-10
Kyoto, the former capital of Japan is our next stop. The ancient imperial city and cultural heart of Japan, with hundreds of shrines and Buddhist temples, atmospheric gardens, small old streets, historical architecture is a highlight of any Japan trip. With its traditional architecture the city offers a stark contrast to modern Tokyo. Here we also spend a night in a ryokan, a traditional Japanese hotel including Japanese breakfast and dinner.
4

Nara

Day 10
Not far from Kyoto is the city Nara located. Nara is best known for its temples and park with free-roaming deer. Nara has a more calming characteristic than Kyoto and can easily be explored as a day trip.
5

Ōsaka

Day 10-15
Now Osaka is on the agenda. The city is often called the food capital of Japan with a more relaxed and friendly characteristic than Tokyo. One of the highlights is the Dotonbori district, which is characterized by the many neon lights, bars and restaurants. But also traditional architecture like the Osaka Castle distinguishes the city. Another highlight is the visit to Universal Studios Japan. The theme park offers several roller coasters, the Super Nintendo World and a Harry Potter castle.
6

Himeji

Day 15
Himeji is easy to explore as a day trip from Osaka and is best known for its castle. This is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in all of Japan and is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the way back we can also visit the city of Kobe, famous for the Kobe beef.
7

Hiroshima

Day 15
Also easy to explore by day trip is the city of Hiroshima. It is famous for the dropping of the first atomic bomb, which destroyed large parts of the city. Nevertheless, some buildings survived the destruction, such as the Genbaku Dome, which today serves as a memorial. Here we explore the rebuilt city and its moving history.
8

Tokyo

Day 15-18
Back to Tokyo. Here we spend the last days of our trip and catch up on what is still on our agenda or use the time for day trips to the surrounding area such as the five lakes or Nikko in the mountains. Afterwards we will return home with hopefully lots of new impressions and memories. 😃
