Pack your backpack and let's explore the three most exciting capitals of Southeast Asia and the historical pearl of Malaysia together! In just one week, we will visit 3 different countries that are all unique in terms of culture, architecture and cuisine. Our route: Bangkok 🍻 -> Singapore 🏙️ -> Malacca 🏯 -> Kuala Lumpur 🍜 ________________________________________ ❗Attention❗: ❌ For trip bookings after February 20, 2025, the Bangkok - Singapore flight is no longer included in the travel price ❌ Why? The closer to the start of the trip, the more expensive flights and (good) accommodation become. Since I can't book flights in advance (without name and passport details) and I don't want to set the trip price unnecessarily high in advance to have enough buffer, I have to pay for the flight BKK - SIN myself from February 20 (approx. 50-90€). Of course, this also reduces the trip price from February 20th. However, I will gladly continue to book the flight or support you so that we are all on the same plane. :) ________________________________________ ℹ️ OVERVIEW: Day 1-3: Bangkok Our journey begins with a traditional street food dinner at one of Bangkok's most beautiful night markets. If it's your first time in Bangkok, I'll show you some of the typical (but worth seeing) highlights of the Thai capital. But we also like to visit the less touristy corners of my adopted hometown. The famous nightlife is not neglected here either! 🍻 🏯 Day 3-4: Singapore From Bangkok, it's off to the airport in the morning and on to the glittering city-state of Singapore. The city is one of the most modern, cleanest and most sustainable cities in the world and offers a stark contrast to the bustling and chaotic Bangkok. We will visit the highlights of Singapore, such as the Gadens by the bay and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, and take a stroll through the new and "old" Singapore. 🏙️ Day 4-6: Malacca After a night in Singapore, we have time to explore the city at our leisure the next day before taking a comfortable coach to neighboring Malaysia in the afternoon. On the way to the capital Kuala Lumpur, we will make a stopover in Malacca and spend two nights here. The city was once an important trading metropolis for Europeans, as evidenced by the numerous Portuguese and Dutch colonial buildings that can still be seen in the beautifully restored old town. Day 6-8: Kuala Lumpur We will spend the last 3 days in Kuala Lumpur. We will take a bus from Malacca in the morning and thus have almost 2 full days to explore the metropolis "KL". For me personally, KL is one of the most diverse and interesting cities in the world. The melting pot of cultures offers a huge culinary selection. The prices are as cheap as in Bangkok, but the city skyline is just as modern and glittering as Singapore. This city is also the best of all 3 metropolitan areas for shopping. 🍜 🍍 Day 8: Departure ✈️ On the last day, I'm heading back to Bangkok. As the airport in Kuala Lumpur serves as an AirAsia hub, it is the ideal starting point to continue your journey through Southeast Asia or to fly back home from here. If you would like to fly back to Bangkok with me, please let me know after booking so that I can book you a ticket for the same flight (approx. 50-90$ ❌ not included). ✈️🏙️ ________________________________________ What can you expect on this trip? ➕ Discover 3 top travel countries in one week 🎒 ➕ Perfect mix of party, culture and city break. 🥳 ➕ A cool travel group, with a maximum of 6 people 🤗 ➕ Explore Malaysia's colonial past in Malacca 🏛️ ➕ Celebrate with other backpackers from all over the world in Bangkok 🍺🌏 ➕ Marvel at the skyline of Singapore and 🏙️ ➕ Enjoy the mix of street food cuisines in Kuala Lumpur 🍜 What is included in the tour price? ✅ All transfers (bus, train, cab, minivan) ✅ Flight BKK - SIN (by booking before 20. The rainy season is just taking a break and the dry season has not yet reached its highest temperatures. ________________________________________
I have been living in Bangkok since mid-2024 and regularly travel to different parts of Southeast Asia from here. I have traveled a lot on my own but appreciate the company of other travelers with similar interests. That's why I've started sharing my travel plans on joinmytrip and look forward to meeting new people :) ________________________________________
Our accommodation will be simple but clean and well-kept rooms in well-located small hotels, hostels or guesthouses. If necessary, you can also book a single room for an extra charge. Only in Singapore will we probably share a shared room, as Singapore is one of the most expensive cities in the world. We may also stay in hostels with modern sleeping pods, which offer a good mix of privacy but also sociable common areas to quickly get in touch with other travelers. _____________________________________________ ℹ️ Travel safely as a woman ♀ and LGBTQ 🏳️🌈: I am aware that it can be a big hurdle to embark on a travel adventure with unknown male travel partners from different cultural backgrounds. However, to take away as many worries as possible right from the start and create more security, you can rely on the following measures: 1) Separate rooms 🚪 If no other woman is taking part in this trip alongside you, I will book you your own single room or bed in a dormitory of the same sex at your request. This means you always have a place to retreat to and a safe space, at no extra cost! 2) Woman to woman 🙋🏻♀️ On all my trips that start in Bangkok, there is the possibility that you can get to know my partner Hannah personally at our first dinner together. Should a situation arise during the trip where you feel uncomfortable and prefer to have a woman as your contact person, you can contact her or my co-tripleader Lama from JMT. 3) You always have a choice ⛔ If you realize during the first few days that the chemistry just isn't right or you feel uncomfortable in the presence of other tripmates and we can't improve the situation through a confidential conversation, you can cancel the trip as a last resort even after the trip has started. And without having to pay the full cost of the trip. I will refund you the full amount of your trip price in the local currency, minus - Costs already incurred for activities, accommodation and transportation - JoinMyTrip commission (10-15% of the trip price, JMT may refund you the fees afterwards) - Costs for future bookings that can no longer be canceled (e.g. flights, train/bus or accommodation) As a rule, you should receive at least 60-70% of your travel price back. Money should therefore not be a motive that prevents you from listening to your gut feeling! _____________________________________________

The perfect introduction to backpacking and an unforgettable city-hopping trip The city hopping trip from Bangkok via Singapore and Melacca to Kuala Lumpur was the perfect introduction to backpacking for me - my first trip of this kind, and I really couldn't have wished for a better one. Timo struck just the right balance to introduce us to this form of travel without it becoming overwhelming or too extreme. Instead, there were exciting insights into low-budget traveling and frugalism - always with a friendly, relaxed vibe. The route was well thought out and varied - from vibrant cities to cultural gems like Melacca. What was particularly cool was that we didn't just see the typical tourist spots, but also discovered lots of insider tips off the beaten track. In Bangkok, we even got to meet Timo's wife, who showed us some real secret gems together with him - totally warm and open. Too bad she wasn't with us for the whole trip! Our group was also really cool - a colorful, relaxed group with whom it was simply fun to be on the road. The trip was well organized, but still had enough room for spontaneity and our own ideas. Conclusion: If you're looking for an authentic, well-structured and flexible trip, this is the right place for you. I will definitely be traveling with Timo again!
On our first day in Bangkok, we explore the magnificent temples of Wat Suthat and Wat Samet. These historical sites are not quite as well-known as Wat Arun, for example, but they are also less crowded. Don't forget to wear appropriate clothing (shoulders and knees must be covered). Afterwards, you will walk through the bustling Chinatown. To relax in the afternoon, we visit the "green lungs" of Bangkok, Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park. Here you can observe turtles and giant monitor lizards that have found a new home in the artificial waters. In the evening, visit one of the many night markets, where you can enjoy a huge selection of street food. Of course, we won't miss out on the famous Bangkok nightlife and party with Thais and other travelers from all over the world on the legendary Khao San Road.

Singapore
Day 3-4
Singapore is a fascinating metropolis that combines an impressive skyline, modern architectural elements and the best cuisine in the world. Even if we only spend one night in the city, we will of course not miss out on the most important highlights of Singapore. Our first stop will be the world-famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel. This architectural masterpiece is one of Singapore's landmarks. We will enjoy the spectacular view over the city from the viewing deck on the hotel roof before strolling through the futuristic Gardens by the bay park. Before dinner, we can admire the impressive Spectra water show. The show combines music, light and water fountains to create a fascinating performance against the backdrop of Singapore's skyline lit up in the evening. The next morning, we have time to explore the city on a guided walking tour before the bus departs for Malacca in the afternoon.

Malacca
Day 4-6
The next day, we continue on to Malaysia in the afternoon. On the way to the capital Kuala Lumpur, we will make a stopover in Malacca and immerse ourselves in Malaysia's history. Malacca is known for its rich history, unique architecture and vibrant street art scene. Our tour of Malacca begins in the old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The narrow alleyways, colorful colonial buildings and numerous temples immerse us directly in the city's eventful past. We stroll along Jonker Street, the famous night market mile, and let ourselves be enchanted by the scents and sounds. Malacca is now also known worldwide for its quirky bicycle rickshaws, which shine in bright neon colors in the evening. Of course, we don't miss out on a ride on the Hello Kitty, Pokemon or Spiderman rickshaws before continuing on to the last megacity the next morning.

Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Day 6-8
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur (KL for short), the dazzling capital of Malaysia, which somehow combines all the cities we have already visited in the past few days. KL offers a unique blend of ancient tradition and religion, super modern city life and still retains the charm of a chaotic Asian megacity with excellent street food and cheap night markets. Even though KL is much smaller than Bangkok or Singapore, We will be staying in a hotel near the historic old town of Kuala Lumpur. In this area we will find a fascinating mix of colonial and Asian influences. We stroll through narrow alleyways past colorful shophouses, Chinese temples and mosques. A particular highlight is Merdeka Square with its British-inspired colonial style. Our next stop takes us to the Petronas Twin Towers, the landmark of Kuala Lumpur. The 452-metre-high twin towers made of steel and glass are an impressive architectural masterpiece and were once the tallest building in the world (viewing platform not included). Merdeka 118 is now the tallest building in the city at over 670 meters, making it the second tallest building in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Around the Petrona Towers there is a unique recreational park with a colorful evening water show that is not to be outdone by the water games in Singapore. In the evening, the lively Chinatown district awaits us, which is known for its diverse and authentic cuisine. We sample our way through the street kitchens and food courts and let the tempting aromas cast a spell over us. To round off our city trip, we visit the impressive Hindu Batu Cave Temple on the outskirts of the city, which is now a refuge for monkeys that once lived in the wild in this large metropolis. Over 272 steps lead up to a cave containing colorful shrines.
