Have you ever thought of visiting the wonderful city of Naples, exploring the haunting ruins of Pompeii or indulging in the beautiful sights of the Amalfi Coast? Well now you can do all of that in one trip! Join me as we journey through the Italian southern peninsula and experience some Mediterranean culture during this action-packed week! We will settle down in Naples and get to know each other before setting out to Pompeii the very next day. We will explore the ruins of the city that was devastated by the AD79 eruption and have a glance at the daunting Mount Vesuvius in all its infamous glory. After returning to Naples to spend the night, we will wake up the next day and climb up that ominous volcano before heading to Herculaneum - a place some people consider even more spectacular than Pompeii. On Day 3, we embark on a tour of all the beautiful, picturesque towns on the Amalfi Coast. We can take some stunning pictures and immerse ourselves in the Italian culture as we feast on Italian cuisine and wine! The final full day will be spent on the island of Capri, where we can relax and enjoy the island life. If this sounds like something you would enjoy then why not take the leap and book a place! About me! My name is Josh and I am from the UK. I have always been interested in the Ancient Romans and visiting Pompeii was on my bucket list. I managed to tick off this goal in 2024 but there was so much of Pompeii I didn't get to see... and so I've decided to go again! I also loved touring the beautiful towns of the Amalfi Coast and would love to show off their splendours to even more tripmates. If you have any questions please let me know in the Q&A section!
About the accommodation: We will stay in a nice accommodation in the city of Naples and travel out to the other sites during each day. Rooms will be shared, but if you would like a single room then please let me know and that can be arranged for a slightly higher price. Please also let me know if you would like any other amenities too :)

Naples
Tag 1-2
This is the day of arrival! You can arrive at any time during the day and make your way to the hotel. We will all meet there and maybe go for a walk around the city. In the evening, we will find a nice place to eat and have drinks and get to know each other.

Pompei
Tag 2-3
We will take a train to Pompeii. We will spend the day exploring the ruins and learning about the events of AD79. We will be able to see Mount Vesuvius from a distance as well. I didn't have enough time to explore all of Pompeii when I came here previously, so I have allocated a full day to it this time. After we finish, we will return to Naples and will spend the rest of the day exploring the city and finding somewhere to eat!

Ercolano
Tag 3-4
On this day we will take a train to Ercolano Scavi where we will hike up Mount Vesuvius and see the crater. Make sure you pack water as it takes about an hour to get to the top. Then we will walk across town and enter Herculaneum. This is another town affected by the volcanic eruption of AD79. It is supposed to be better preserved and more beautiful than Pompeii. I've never been before so I'm eager to find out! Based on the weather, we might end up swapping these two activities (Herculaneum first then the Vesuvius hike). Basically, I would like to do the hike when it is not boiling hot - so either in the morning, or late afternoon.

Amalfi Coast
Tag 4-5
We will wake up early and go on a tour of the Amalfi Coast. We will visit the beautiful towns of Ravello, Amalfi and Positano before ending in Sorrento. All these towns are so cute and picturesque so we will be sure to take a lot of photos! We will visit the beach and have dinner in Sorrento before returning to Naples in the evening.

Capri
Tag 5-6
This will be our last full day of the trip. We will get on a boat in the morning and sail to the beautiful island of Capri. On Capri, there are many things to do such as going to the beach, visiting the grottos or riding the chairlift to the highest point. It is a nice, fun day out. We will either have dinner in Capri or after we return back to Naples in the evening.

Naples
Tag 6
This is the day of departure! Everyone will be leaving at different times so there is no set plan for this day. I would encourage everyone to explore the city if not done already. There are many museums and gardens to explore. Hopefully, people will have time to wander around together before leaving.
