Guided trip
🇸🇦 A lot of people have a pre-conception of Saudi Arabia which is unfortunately exaggerated by the western social media. It's an exciting time to visit Saudi, around 1.5 years after they officially opened up more so tourists - they've held their first EDM festival, made it legal for women to drive & are currently creating the first of its kind city 'the line' that will excess upwards rather than across lots of land. I have lived in the Middle East for nearly 10 years and I would love to show you another country less travelled if you are ready to be opened minded and wow'd by the sheer hospitality of the Saudis and the beautiful desert landscapes & UNESCO sites. It really is an Arabian dream if you're ready to be open minded & don't mind long journeys between stops in the car. Trip Itinerary
1

Riyadh

Day 1-3
Day 1: Arrive in Riyadh - you can check in from 14:00 & we will go for a family dinner at 19:30, so be ready in the accommodation lobby at 19:15 to meet the rest of your tripmates for the first time in person. This means the earlier you arrive, the more some spare you'll have to wonder around the city and visit the modern cafes. Day 2: Day trip to the 'edge of the world' (its real name is Jabal al-Firin), one of the most popular tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia, gets its nickname from the continuous view of the horizon it offers over its 300-meter-high cliffs, which overlook the surrounding plain. It is part of the much longer Tuwaiq escarpment, descending about 305 meters to the bottom of the ancient ocean. From the top of the cliffs, you'll spot dry rivers that weave across the land and you may see camels moving away below - an ancient caravan route that once ran through these lands. We can enjoy the sunset from the top of the mountain and take unforgettable memorial photos. Head back to the city to get a good nights sleep before an early start tomorrow morning.
2

Buraydah

Day 3-4
Day 3: Today we will head to a stop over city on our way to Medina. Buraydah is rapidly growing as a major tourist hotspot. Being ideally located at the very center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ensures that it is well connected to all other regions of the country. Buraydah is an agricultural hub & it is called the city of dates for the production of high-quality dates. While the surroundings of the city offer the charming indulgence of country life with the abundant farms and orchards, the city itself is modern and has plenty of tourist attractions. You will find museums here that covers the rich history of the city and the region. There are also a number of parks, entertainment centers, shopping malls, and dining options in Buraydah. The city celebrates a number of different festivals and events that are organized throughout the year. The dry climate ensures that you can go out and enjoy the festivities that the city has to offer.
3

Medina

Day 4-5
Day 4: Arrive in Madina city at our own pace for the night. Medina is one of Islam's two holiest cities, making it a key destination for millions of pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah. The city is centered around Al Masjid an Nabawi, also known as the Prophet's Mosque, which was constructed by the Prophet himself and is also where he is buried. Although non-muslims can't enter the religious sights here, the city is still beautiful to witness and walk around & feels magical given the history.
4

AlUla

Day 5-6
Day 5: Today is a long driving day - we will be leaving before sunrise & driving to the Khaybar lava fields, village and fort. Then continue on to arrive in Al'Ula early afternoon, explore the old town & museum & then head onto the hotel to stay in luxury caravan site in the middle of the desert Day 6: Hike Harrat Viewpoint for sunrise. Explore Al'Ula during the day in the desert - Drive ourselves around Madain Saleh Tombs, Elephant Rock, Hegra, Tombs of Liyan, Al Sanea, Al Diwan. Late afternoon after sightseeing drive to Tabuk
5

Tabuk

Day 6-7
Day 7: Today head to Wadi Al Disah for a hike through the Canyons. Drive onto Umluj for the night described as the Maldives of Saudi. You can wonder around the coastal town & catch a beautiful sunset here.
6

Umluj

Day 7-8
Day 8: Drive from Umluj via the mango farm & the heritage museum. We will have a brief stop in Yanbu fishing village to stretch our legs before heading back to Jeddah. Arrive in Jeddah for your final night before departing tomorrow.
7

Jeddah

Day 8-9
Day 9: Wake up in Jeddah to Explore Al-Balad morning market/Biet Nassif & Souq Al Alawi Balad within the old part of the city. Jeddah is the birthplace of worldwide arts and music, and a gathering spot for multi-vibrant cultures, a unique blend that left its mark on Jeddah's exquisite cuisine of many fine dishes with global tastes. It is also home to a variety of amazing museums and historical landmarks so if you didn't get to see these the first day, this is your chance before departing the country today. If your flight is later in the day you could visit Alrahmah mosque and King Fahads fountain.
