I was born in a spring🌸 evening🌜 in Aargau, a canton in Switzerland🇨🇭 and have been living in Istanbul🌉 for quite a long time.
This trip is a culture & history-oriented trip to experience both the traditional side and the modern side of Istanbul.
Plus, a budget-friendly trip led by a local — me 😁
Aaaand last but not least 🥁 — this is for foodies: Restaurants where local food is cheaper! 😉

Hippodrome

Our first stop will be the famous Blue Mosque — it derives its name from its blue tiles around the minarets. Then we will stroll around the hippodrome and see the famous attractions which are the Column of Constantine, the Serpent Column, the Obelisk of Theodosius and the German Fountain. Afterwards we can have a ☕ break. We can also visit the Topkapı Palace — the first Ottoman palace in Istanbul.

Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque

Our next stop will be the famous Hagia Sophia — first a church then a mosque🕌
Afterwards we will stroll around the town. We can visit the Basilica Cistern — the biggest cistern (water storage) of Constantinople. Then, we'll have our lunch.

Grand Bazaar

After our lunch at a local restaurant, we can go to the Grand Bazaar — the shopping centre of the old town. You can buy beautiful shawls, lamps or local trinkets for yourself, your family and friends as souvenirs 🛍️

Our final stop for the day, will be the Gülhane Park, a beautiful park with greenery sceneries with beautiful flowers🌷. There, we will pay a visit to the Column of the Goths — a Roman victory column dating back to the third or fourth century A.D. which makes it one of the oldest structures in the area. Then, we will have a ☕ break at one of the cafes in the park. We can also visit the Archaeology museum if you're into ancient history of Anatolia. Plus, if you're a cat person, you'll encounter many of the museum cats🐈⬛

Taksim Square

On our second day, we will go for a walk on the famous Istikal Street in Taksim. We will pay a visit to the Republic Monument in the Taksim Square and take photos and stroll around. After our visit to monument, we will visit the Church of St. Anthony of Padua⛪ Then we will have a ☕ break. Later, if you're into art, we can visit the Painting Museum and relax. Then, we'll have our lunch.

Galata Tower

Our next stop will be the Galata Tower. At Galata Tower, you will be able to enjoy the view of the city from the top.
After the tower, we will pay a visit to Pera Palace —the oldest hotel of Istanbul.

Kabataş iskelesi

On our third day, we will meet at the Kabataş station. We can visit the Dolmabahçe Palace — a more modern palace by the Ottoman. Or we can take right away the Bosphorus tour⛴️ departs from Kabatas. The tour will take 1 hour and 15 minutes.
After the boat trip, we can go to the Naval Museum in Besiktas where you can explore the marine world of Turkiye. Or we can stroll around Beşiktaş and have our lunch 🍽️

Ortaköy

After we arrive at Beşiktaş, we can go to Yıldız Park. It is a beautiful natural park 🏞️ There are a couple of cafes where you can try Sahlep — a local hot drink☕ Plus, you can encounter 🦆 and 🐢.
Then, we will head to Ortaköy on foot. It is a seaside place where you can take beautiful night photos near the Bosphorus Bridge 🌉📸

Balat

On our fourth day, we will meet at Eminönü. We'll go to Balat — another part of the old town. There, we will visit the colourful houses and stairs🌈 — a famous spot where people take photos 📸 Then, we'll have a ☕ break at one of the local cafes. We'll stroll around the town a little more, and try some local food.

Rumeli Fortress

On our fifth day, we will go to see the famous fortresses of Istanbul. First, we will visit the Rumeli Fortress which is located in the European side. It's a medieval fortress built in 1452 during the reign of Mehmet II. Next, we will cross to the Anatolian side on boat in order to visit the Anatolian Fortress. In fact, it is the first Ottoman fortress built in 1394 during the reign of Beyazit I. Afterwards, we will pay a visit to Küçüksu Pavilion which is located near the Anatolian Fortress. Then we will have our lunch near the area. Then we will take a small boat trip and enjoy the stops from the sea side 🌅

Üsküdar Seaside

And finally, on our last day, we will go to Kadıköy. It is also located on the Asian side of Istanbul. We will stroll around the town, then we will have lunch. After lunch, we will go to Maiden's Tower by boat🛥️ It's in the middle of the sea. When finished, we'll have a ☕ break and enjoy our remaining hours of the trip.
