It is a typical Moroccan house, usually with multiple stories centered around an open-air courtyard. Many riads in Marrakech got renovated and converted into hotels or Airbnbs. The term comes from the Arab word 'ryad' (meaning 'garden'). Our riad will be located in the old part of Marrakesh. 💰 The price includes: Accommodation (shared rooms) in a traditional Riad. Private rooms can be arranged as well for a higher price. JoinMyTrip service fee and trip planning, as well as emergency insurance for German and Austrian residents. All other costs for food, extra activities, flights etc. are not included 💻 What will a typical working day look like? Wake up in a beautiful traditional riad in Marrakesh! Each day we can decide together if we want to work from a coffee shop, a rooftop restaurant in the old town of Marrakech, a coworking space or our home. After work, we will explore Marrakech - there are plenty of things to do, see and explore, so it will definitely never get boring. Even just visiting the Souk (market) is an experience itself! There are several museums, art galleries, shops and endless restaurants that offer different cuisine. Katharina is amazing person and excellent trip leader. She is flexible and really make you comfortable in the trip. She arranges and plans the trip at the same time open to changes if anybody wants. The trip has been perfect in terms of planning and information about the places! Everything was totally alright and went well! Cool tripmates and everyone adjusting, she chose them well so that we can enjoy together! Had pleasant conversations with everyone and we all connected at good personal level and felt comfortable with each other.
We will meet at our accommodation, which will be a riad in the old center of Marrakech. I can help you to arrange airport pickup, or you can take a bus to the city. What's a riad? It is a typical house with multiple stories centered around an open-air courtyard. The term comes from the Arab word 'ryad' (meaning 'garden'). In the evening we will have some traditional dinner together, get to know each other and discuss our plan for the week.

Marrakesch
Day 3-5
Together we can join a Moroccan cooking class, or I can show you at our accommodation how to cook a traditional Tajine. My local friends showed me how to do it, and I'm happy to show you as well :) As food is very affordable in Morocco, it's easy to eat out and not cook at home. However, if anyone enjoys cooking, we can do so in our accommodation as well and buy groceries from the local market.

Ouzoud
Day 5-7
On the weekend, we will go for a day trip to the famous waterfalls of Ouzoud. I haven't been there yet, but people told me it's incredibly beautiful. It's the best to join an organized tour with pickup, as going there by public transportation is a bit difficult. This cost is not included in the trip price, it costs around 25-30€ per person.

Agafay
Day 7
Agafay is a small desert area that is located close to Marrakech. I would love to go there on the weekend and have dinner inside the desert. There are several tour operators that offer a tour to Agafay on a different budget, and we can decide together which one to take. Of course, I'm also open for other ideas what to do on the weekend and after work :)

What will a typical working day look like? We can decide together if we want to work from a coffee shop, a rooftop restaurant in the old town of Marrakech, a coworking space or our home. After work, we will explore Marrakech - there are plenty of things to do, see and explore, so it will definitely never get boring. Even just visiting the Souk (market) is an experience itself! There are several museums, art galleries, shops and endless restaurants that offer different cuisine. I will also show you my favorite bar in the old city, which is one of the rare places where you can get alcohol and enjoy a belly dance show for free as well!
