Visit Morocco for the first time together and make some lifelong friends along the way! We will start in Tangier and finish in Taghazout, visiting the main sites and some more off-the-beaten track gems along the way. We'll be spending 2 days at most stops so the trip won't be as rushed as a traditional tour, only our accommodation will be more comfortable and for a cheaper price point! Itinerary might change slightly depending on availability/logistics. You also don't need any experience with any of the activities to join :) Highlights: 💚 UNESCO World Heritage Sites 💚 Ait Benhaddouh, where Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed 💚 Spend a night under the stars in the Sahara 💚 Camel trekking through the desert 💚 Hike to a waterfall for lunch 💚 Explore Morocco's Imperial cities 💚 Visit Assilah, Taghazout, Essaouira, among others What is included in the price? 💚 Accommodation 💚 Insurance for German/Austrian travellers 💚 Transportation between cities. We will split the costs of inner-city transport while there using Splitwise :) 💚 Most breakfasts, some dinners (I'll do my best to get the best accommodation deals and many will include breakfast) 💚 Local tours 💚 Camel trek in the desert 💚 Hot air balloon ride 💚 ATV quad bike tour in the desert 💚 Any extra money left over I will use on you for dinner or activities or just refund you :) This is likely because I've overestimated just to be on the safe side! 💚 I will also send a packing list and a tips guide

I'm Gia from Ireland, and I live to travel. I love meeting new people and trying foods from different places. So far I've been to around 25 countries... and counting! If you like nature, food, culture, history, adventure plus some downtime then I think we'll have a great time together :)

We will be staying in nice and clean rooms at ~3 star hotels, airbnb rentals, riads or hostels with great reviews (at least 8+). We will be sharing twin rooms, or maybe triple rooms depending on the group number/availability/gender of TripMates. Double or single rooms can be accommodated when available - just message me first so I can check the cost 💚

Tangier

Day 1-4
Europe's gateway to Africa! Its blend of cultures and influences is unique in Morocco – for much of its history it wasn't even governed by Morocco. In fact, many older people in the North of Morocco speak Spanish. Day 1: We will meet at Tangier Airport (TNG) or at the accommodation. In the evening, we will go for dinner together at a terrasse with a view so we can get to know each other in person and celebrate the start of a great trip! Day 2: Explore the old medina and kasbah, Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures, the Souk Bara (a market that is only available to wander a few days a week), the charming cafés and craft stores. If there is time for more in the evening, we can discuss what to do as a group. Day 3: Day trip to Asilah via train (possibly back via share taxi). The journey will take less than 1 hour each way. Asilah is an art hub and a beautiful coastal town. Things to do: Explore the Medina and Nashia Bazaar, gallery hop, walk along the beach, climb up the Asilah City Walls in good time to nab a spot to catch the sunset. Then head to Avenue Moulay Hassan Ben Mahdi for the catch of the day at The Fish Market before heading back to Tangier. Day 4: Grab breakfast and a coffee before making our way to the next stop by shared taxi
2

Chefchaouen

Day 4-6
Morocco's pretty blue city: an artsy, blue-washed mountain village that feels like its own world. Day 1: Let's meet for lunch and get to exploring! See the beautiful Medina of Chefchaouen, the kasbah that was founded by Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid who used it as a base to fight against Portuguese invaders, and Utta el-Hamam Square. Day 2: Hike to Akchour Waterfall and/ or God's Bridge with a lovely tajine by the water. The hike should take around 5 hours including breaks, lunch and photos. Wear your bathing suit if you're brave enough to go into the water... I hear it's cold. In the evening we will go to a hammam. Day 3: It's a big travelling day, the bus will take just over 4 hours
3

Fes

Day 6-9
Day 1: Stretch your legs and get settled in your rooms to rest before we go on a guided tour of Fes, and the medina. Day 2: Guided day tour to Meknes, Volubilis, and Moulay Idriss. Day 3: Visit the famous Chouara tanneries and the Marinid tombs. Day 4: An early start today as we're headed towards the desert
4

Ifrane

Day 9
We'll be stopping in the Switzerland of Morocco, a picturesque 'alpine' city in the Middle Atlas mountains. After this, we'll make several stops travelling over the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, which is famous for its date festival and fossils.
5

Merzouga

Day 9-10
The famous Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga and one of the top highlights of Morocco. We will travel to the camp via camel ride (or by 4x4) before spending the night under the stars. Wake up early around 6.45am to catch the sunset.
6

Dadès Gorges

Day 10-11
We will stop in Tinghir before reaching the beautiful Dades Gorges and going on a short walk to take in the scenery. En route, we will visit with Berber nomads before continuing on the Valley of the Roses, famous for its rose festival in May. In Skoura, we will go to Kasbah Amredhil before reaching the next stop which is 45 minutes away.
7

Ouarzazate

Day 11-12
We will stay overnight in Ouarzazate. In the morning, the first stop is the famous Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco's seven World Heritage Sites, and also the filming location of many famous movie/tv series such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. We will drive along the gorgeous Ounila Valley, passing and stopping in some Berber villages and kasbahs before crossing the Tichka pass to arrive in Marrakech.
8

Marrakesh

Day 12-15
Day 1: Once arriving in Marrakech, we'll have a free evening to do whatever we want. For example: relax, hammam and a massage, dinner, go to a show, or a rooftop restaurant/bar to watch the craziness of the Jemaa el-Fna market square from above, etc. Day 2: Bahia Palace and the Sadiaan tombs. Explore the medina, souk des teinturiers, Jemaa el-Fna. In the evening we will go on a night tour. Day 3: Early rise for hot air balloon ride to watch the sunrise from the sky! Visit Jardin Majorelle and the YSL museum in the late afternoon. Day 4: Time to check out and say goodbye to Marrakech.
9

Essaouira

Day 15-17
Day 1: Grab lunch after checking into our hotel. Wander the medina, pop into shops and art galleries (if there's time, otherwise we can come back tomorrow). We'll eventually make our way to the city’s ramparts, Skala de la Ville, for a stunning Atlantic view, head to the fishing port before walking along the beach and maybe go for a night time swim. Day 2: Go on an ATV tour in the desert. Grab a seafood dinner from the fish market where a local restaurant will cook it for you! Head for drinks and music at night time. Day 3: Head to Taghazout
10

Taghazout

Day 17-18
Day 1: Arrive in the afternoon. Explore. Try to attend a bonfire or beach party in the evening. Day 2: Optional surfing lesson. Say goodbye to everyone. I will help you arrange transfers to the airport (Agadir).
