What's special?
special Skiing in the Middle East
special Enjoying our local cuisine
special Exploring Lebanon's natural beauty
Nowadays, skiing in Europe is becoming expensive BUT there is a solution! Have you tried skiing in the Middle East? Yes that's right, I'm talking about Lebanon 🇱🇧 Known as the Switzerland of the Middle East for a reason, Lebanon is probably the only country in the region without a desert but with beautiful mountains and slopes, which is home to many ski resorts. It is a country with a rich culture, a thousand years of history located in the Mediterranean Sea with natural beaches and a local cuisine that attracts millions of people worldwide. Did I tell you the best part? You can do all these within the same day as it's a very small country and possibly the only country where you can ski in the morning and swim in the afternoon on the same day and that's a fun fact 😉 About the trip 😎 I am looking for like-minded people, preferably within the same age group, who have Lebanon on their bucket list and would like to discover it with me as a Local in winter. TripMates should enjoy cultural historical sites, FOOD (I mean, who doesn't), Nature and Hiking. We will be visiting Beirut the capital of Lebanon in addition to places like Faraya, Chouf etc.

Trip Itinerary
1

Beirut

Day 1-2
Day-Time: Since everyone will be arriving around that day, we will wander around Beirut and its city center including Beirut Downtown, Saifi Village and Beirut souks (which will be back in Winter). Beirut's souks are considered the iconic leisure and shopping area at the heart of the capital. Night-Time: To get to know each other's more, we will have a seated dinner at a Lebanese restaurant and taste the yummiest food ever.
2

Faraiya

Day 2-3
Day-Time: We will start our day with a typical Lebanese Breakfast called Mankouche. In Faraya and usually in the mountains, they do it differently by baking it on a curved hot plate then rolling it which make it thinner. Its soooo good!! Flavors typically include thyme, cheese, ham and cheese, thyme and cheese, you name it. We will start our day with a small hike and then head towards the ski resorts and enjoy our times on the slopes. For those who don’t know how to ski, don't worry, as I am a beginner too. Everyone can learn since there are multiple slopes based on the level of difficulty. Also, we can rent a sled 🛷 and enjoy our time as well 😎 ⛄️ Night-Time : Since French is our 2nd language and Lebanon was once a French mandate, there is a rich French culture 🇫🇷 presence inside the country. And since you're in the Paris of the Middle East, I will book us a table at a nice, fancy French restaurant.
3

Chouf

Day 3-4
Day-Time: We will visit Chouf district, one of the best preserved Lebanese districts. You'll notice right away its beautiful greenery in mountains and valleys. We will stop at Moussa castle, a visionary young man who had a dream to build a castle all by himself despite being mocked by his former teacher in school and his schoolmates. Afterwards, we will head to Beiteddine Palace, which is considered the summer residential of the Lebanese president. We will also stop by Mir Amin Palace hotel, which you'll love its authenticity and style. Night-Time: We will have sushi at the best sushi restaurant I have ever tried in my life. And folks, yes I have tried many sushi places in many countries including London, Milan, Paris etc. You'll have to trust me on this one;) The restaurant is a few minutes away from the Airbnb.
4

Jeita Grotto

Day 4-5
Day-Time: Starting the day right, meaning getting the right food in our system. Having said that, we will have Knefeh near our AirBnb so that you guys can taste it in Lebanon, as it's different from other neighbouring countries. We will go visit Jeita Grotto, which was a strong candidate for the wonders of the world in addition to Harissa, also known as Lady of Lebanon. Night-Time: We will have a bowling game night at one of the coolest place in the city. For those who don't know how to play, it will be a great opportunity for you as it's very easy.
5

Batroun

Day 5-6
Day-Time: We will start our day by having the best mankouche in Lebanon in Batroun. We will then go hiking towards the beautiful scenery of Batroun. The hike is considered very easy. During this hike, you'll probably take the best stairs of your life. I call them stairs to heaven. After the hike, we can wander around the city of Batroun and see the Phoenician wall, the lady of the sea and St Stephen Church. Night-Time: After this long day, I will book a Lebanese Seafood restaurant for us to enjoy as we earned it big time😉
6

Zaarour Club

Day 6-7
Day-Time: We will head towards a different ski resort called Zaarour club. Those who want to ski can do so and the others can enjoy walking and enjoying the beautiful views of Zaarour in the middle of the snow ❄️ Night-Time: I haven't included anything here yet, as I will be open to your ideas and suggestions.
7

Beirut

Day 7-8
Day-Time: We will visit Raouche Rocks and walk in the beautiful Zaituna Bay. It's a nice promenade by the boats 🛥️ surrounded with tall buildings and multiple restaurants and cafés ☕️ Night-Time: We will end the week by having the best Shawarmas you have ever tried.
