Hey :) I'm happy that you found my trip! We will meet in Tromsø and explore the city before heading to Narvik with a stop at the polar park. We will then spend a night in inside an Arctic Dome before heading to the Lofoten. Once there, it's time for some hiking and incredible viewpoints! Beautiful fishing villages and an exciting RIB safari await us, and memories that we will keep forever.

Accommodation: We will be staying in hotels, guesthouses or Airbnbs and rooms will be shared. I am also looking for 1-2 people who would like to drive our car :) Costs for gas, parking and when cooking together will be shared between us, using the app Splitwise. Do you have a question? Before I decide to join JMT I expected to see different places, meet other cultures, have fun, etc. After the trip I can safely say that my expectations were met, plus I had the privilege to meet some of the coolest guys ever which I can call them friends. One of them, a genuine, extrovert, polite, smart and well organized person is creating some of the most interesting trips in JMT. Katharina Christalon, thank you for the memories.

Tromsø

Day 1-2

We will meet in Tromsø and collect our car from the airport. We will spend the first night in Tromsø and explore a bit in the afternoon. In the evening, we will go to the ice bar for a drink and get to know each other before our adventure starts on the next day...

Polar Park

Day 2-3

In the morning, we will start driving in the direction of Lofoten and visit the polar park on our way. Polar Park is the world's northernmost animal park, and home to Norway's large predators such as bears, wolves, and lynx as well as deer, moose and reindeer. Here you can see the animals in their natural surroundings.

Reine

Day 3-4

In the morning, we will hike one of the trails near Reine (Reinebringen or Munken). In the afternoon, visit Å and spend some more time in Reine. The cute and colorful houses make great photo locations, and you will also notice some dried fish hanging outside.

Å

Day 4-5

Have you heard of Å? This is as far as you can drive before literally ending up in the Atlantic Ocean. This village, with a very short name, is probably home to more seagulls than humans. The birds have built nests next to about everywhere. Å has originally developed from a small farm to become an important fishing village in the Lofoten archipelago. The villagers, as in many of the fishing villages in the area, specialized in the production of stockfish. That was the story for the village until the 1990s. The area has since become a popular tourist destination, and it is now tourism that locally has become the most important industry.

Svolvær

Day 5-6

On one of the days we will go on an RIB safari! There is a large population of sea eagles in the area, so the possibilities to get a close-up view of the majestic bird is big. It’s the fourth-largest eagle in the world, with a wingspan up to 265 cm and a weight almost at 7 kg. You'll get close to the nature and the feeling for speed is definitely present. Every participant will get a floating suit, a life jacket, goggles and gloves.

Tromsø

Day 6-7

As the way driving back will be long, we will have an overnight stop on the way to Tromsø. We will arrive in Tromsø the next day, and you can take your flight back home or continue your adventure with me! I will be traveling to Longyearbyen next!
