Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands. This immersive multi-day adventure combines hiking, packrafting, and the sheer magic of Scotland’s untamed wilderness. Hike an iconic part of the West Highland Way, climb the Ben Nevis and go on a 6-day packrafting expedition on the Scottish lochs, including Loch Ness. All while camping on the most beautiful locations. Will you join us?

38 year old Belgian adventurer and outdoor enthusiast with 8+ years of experience in leading group trips across the world. For a Belgian company I am organizing and leading packraft trips in Scotland, Norway and Spitsbergen.

The first night we spend in a hostel in Glasgow. While hiking the West Highland Way we opt for wildcamping as this makes our itinerary flexible. In Fort Wiliam we spend three nights in a campsite close to Ben Nevis. During the packraft expedition we have the authentic outdoors experience by camping on the shores of the Scottish lochs, including Loch Ness. Any questions about the trip? You can let me know in the Q&A section!

Trip Itinerary
1

Glasgow

Day 1-2
We meet in the evening of day 1 in Glasgow where we will spend the night in a hostel. In the evening we meet the group for the first time in real life and organize our backpacks for hiking the West Highland Way the next few days.
2

West Highland Way

Day 2-4
We embark on a 3-day hike along the West Highland Way. From Glasgow we take the train to Bridge of Orchy where we continue our journey on foot. Along the way we enjoy the best views of the Scottish Highlands. In the evening we look for a good spot for wildcamping to enjoy the outdoors.
3

Fort William

Day 4-6
Time to rest our legs. We have an resting day with optional activities. Maybe we go on a journey on the Harry Potter train? See the train passing by on the Glenfinnan Viaduct? Or visit a whisky distillery in Fort William.
4

Ben Nevis

Day 6-7
Another challenge awaits! Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Scotland and the UK. Don't mistake the altitude of 1345 meters, because the walk starts at sea level. Reaching the top is a nice reward for the first part of the expedition in the Scottish Highlands. 6-7 hours of walking, 1300+ meters of elevation
5

Loch Ness

Day 7-13
From Fort William we paddle over several Scottish lochs to Inverness. The biggest challenge will undoubtedly be the 37 kilometer long Loch Ness, infamous for its monster, but perhaps even more so for the tough paddling conditions. In total it takes us about six days to cover just under 100 kilometers. Along the way we will camp wild on the shores of the lakes in an incredible setting.
6

Inverness

Day 13
End of the trip. After breakfast in the hostel in the city centre, you can embark on your journey homewards after an amazing and unforgettable trip in the Scottish Highlands. Not only did you complete an amazing feat by climbing Ben Nevis and paddling Loch Ness, but you made some friends with whom you shared the experience with.
7

Edinburgh

Day 13-14
After spending the night in a hostel in Inverness, we travel by train to Edinburgh. Here we spend a free afternoon doing some sightseeing, buying souvenirs, etc. In the evening we have a last shared meal in a authentic pub.
