Discover the best of Vietnam with a visit to Hanoi and Ninh Binh. Hanoi, the vibrant capital, offers a mix of rich history, French colonial architecture, delicious street food, and serene lakes. Explore iconic sites like the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the Temple of Literature. Then, venture to Ninh Binh, a stunning natural paradise with dramatic limestone karsts, tranquil rivers, and historical temples. Perfect for nature lovers and history enthusiasts, Hanoi and Ninh Binh offer unforgettable experiences in northern Vietnam. March is one of the best months to visit Hanoi, when days are generally warm and sunny. This is a half coworking and half guided-tour trip :) On Monday to Wednesday (10th-12th March) we will be coworking together, keep in mind I work in CET time zone, meaning it's 15:00 - 22:00 in Vietnamese time zone. Nevertheless, we can make use of the day time and do as much as we can, such as going to the old quarter, visting train street and street food market and sightseeing on the back of a motorbike, etc. After coworking at night, we can go to cocktail bars and clubs :) On Thursday to Friday (14th-15th March) we will take 2 days off as we will be touring around Hanoi and Ninh Binh, as well as joining a beer tour to enjoy Bia hơi, which is a type of draught beer popular in Vietnam.

Hi! I am Ka-Man who is originally from Hong Kong but moved to Germany 11 years ago. I like techno, hiking, street food and travelling :) I am a very active and outgoing person who likes to meet new people around the world. I am visiting my hometown Hong Kong in March 2025, therefore organising 2 coworking trips, this one in Hanoi and another one in Hong Kong (which is also available on JoinMyTrip)

We will be staying in an apartment, everyone will have his/her own room :) The apartment will include fast internet for coworking, kitchen, washing machine, air-conditioning, etc. The location will be in downtown. For breakfast, we will go to local places :) food is inexpensive in Hanoi and most of the tours we will be doing together include one meal as well.

Full-day Tour to Ninh Binh w/ boat ride
Street food walking tour
Beer tour to enjoy Bia hơi - local beer

Trip Itinerary

Hanoi

Day 1-2
10/3 - Monday, after checking-in in the afternoon, we will be coworking around 3pm to 10pm (Vietnamese time zone), as Hanoi is a very lively city, we can still go for drinks after work :) or have a walk to enjoy the city vibes.

Hanoi Train Street

Day 2-3
11/3 - Tuesday, before our coworking session in the afternoon, in the morning we will go on a little ride :) each of us will sit on the back of a motorbike, our driver will drive us to visit the must-see attractions, typically places which are difficult to reach by car but motorbike! Possible stops during the 3-4h ride: * Hanoi Train Street * Ba Dinh Square * B52 Lake * Trấn Quốc Pagoda * Long Biên Bridge * Local farm & market * Hanoi Opera House * St. Joseph's Cathedral

Old Quarter

Day 3-4
12/3 - Wednesday, before coworking in the afternoon, we will spend 3 hours exploring every corner of Hanoi's Old Quarter, where you can sit on small plastic chairs and use chopsticks just like the locals. During this time, you'll immerse yourself in the culture and history of Hanoi, stepping into a vibrant world filled with street food vendors. You’ll have the chance to sample around 8 different dishes from local food stalls and family-run restaurants.

Ninh Bình

Day 4-5
13/3 - Thursday, during this full day off, we will visit the Dinh King Temple and Le King Temple, both from the 10th century, and learn about the heroic histories of these two kings during the Chinese Wars. Next, visit Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized in 2014. Known for its stunning tunnel cave system, we will take a boat trip through the beautiful landscape for two hours. Afterward, enjoy a 45-minute cycling tour around the village, where we can explore the local lifestyle. Then, head to Mua Cave (Dancing Cave) and climb almost 500 steps to the top of Lying Dragon Mountain for an incredible panoramic view of Tam Coc.

Beer Street Hanoi

Day 5-6
14/3 - Friday, in the morning we can go to a spa or massage or cooking class, or any idea is welcome :) In the afternoon, we will be visiting one of Hanoi's most unique and hidden Bia Hơi (local beer) spots, a place that only opens for a couple of hours each day. We will enjoy their famous crispy pork belly along with some cold, refreshing beer. Finally, meet one of the city's most beloved street chefs and taste some of his very special dishes, accompanied by homemade plum or apricot rice wine. In the evening, we can go to a bar, or a techno club or any underground places depends on what we will be up for :)
