Hi beautiful people My name is Karla, I am 27 years old. I am originally from Mexico City and I've been based in Berlin for the past 3 years, so what better way to escape the German winter than to bring you to my beautiful home of magical Mexico. Join me and other fun like minded travelers to Oaxaca the birthplace of mezcal, soaring rugged sierras, fascinating ancient cultures, frozen waterfalls and unique gastronomy – and that’s not the half of it. I am looking for a diverse, cool group of 9 to 11 people, including me to join! Hopefully we can learn from each other and have a beautiful time together enjoying the best of what Mexican culture, cuisine & excursions have to offer. It doesn't matter if you're looking for a relaxing vacation, cultural and natural excursions or to work remotely. ABOUT ME I am a visual artist currently studying for my master's in Sexology. I love books, scuba diving, exploring nature, and chasing sunsets. I'm definitely a foodie, so do expect to eat the best food in the Oaxaca. I have traveled around the world and I've managed to generate beautiful connections with people, with wildly different backgrounds and stories, from all walks of life. It is these people and connections that make any trip memorable, that's why I would love to share my expertise with you! ABOUT THE TRIP We will be staying in the Centro Historico at the heart of the city, in a beautifully renewed colonial hacienda, that has been turned into one of the mos beutiful Boutique Hotels in Oaxaca. With excellent Wifi connection, pool, shared rooms, and the option of shared and private (with an extra cost) rooms. I would love it if there's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where we can build our own diverse travel community. Allowing people to work remotely, relax, explore, create or do whatever activities you’d like during the day and on the afternoons and on the weekend be able to explore together the best of what this iconic place has to offer. WHAT'S INCLUDED The trip costs 💸 include an amazing colonial style hotel ACCOMODATION with a big delicious BREAKFAST included for every day, pool, beautiful and spacious common areas, laundry option. & TRANSPORTATION to and from Monte Albán, Mitla and Hierve el Agua; this are from 1.5 to half an hour away from the city, The rest we can walk cause of our amazing location 🌵 Since we are visiting an area where the food is one known to be one of the most extraordinary and unique in the country, we’ll be trying many local restaurants and street food. It also includes a 50 EUR fee for the planning and organizing of this journey. I will also be there all the way and you can count on me with any questions, translation or help needed. Some of the exrtas are - food, transportation (since we’ll be in a great location the day we spebd in the city a car won’t be needed and for the excursions we’ll be renting a private transport, depeding on the amount of people joining) & entrance fees (which are not more than 10 USD or free). HOW TO GET THERE? The easiest way to get there is to fly to Oaxaca International Airport. You can also get here from Mexico City by bus and it would take 6 hours, another idea is to get a blah blah car from Mexico City as well. We are looking for 9 to 11 like-minded, fun people to JOIN OUR TRIP. If you have any questions I will be happy to hear from you! I am very excited to share the best of my beautiful country with you 💗

Trip Itinerary
1

Oaxaca

Day 1-2
As the culinary capital of Mexico, Oaxaca will serve as our base for the trip. This vibrant city is the home of bright and bold-colored colonial architecture, incredibly rich history, artisan galleries, friendly locals, smoky mezcal, and the world's best street food. This still very authentic destination will enchant you with its people, crafts, culture, food and colors.
2

Monte Albán

Day 2-3
Monte Albán are the ruins of the ancient Zapotec capital, making them one of the most important archeological sites in Latin America. Emerging yourself in this magnificent ancient city will leave you amazed. And since we are going during the low season we will avoid the lines and crowds.
3

Hierve el Agua

Day 3-4
Hierve el agua might look like a waterfall but there is no water running down. This is one of only two calcified waterfalls in the world, this and the iconic views of the roaring Sierra is why this place is one of my favorites in Mexico. This magical and unique place is super worth visiting and it is only a few minutes away from Oaxaca City.
4

Mercado 20 de Noviembre

Day 4-5
This is just one of the many markets that you can visit in Oaxaca. It is located in the center of town, in this food market we will be able to find all the typical food, from tlayudas, enfrijoladas, mole and entomatadas, everything made with the best and most authentic ingredients.
5

Mercado De Artesanias De Barro Negro

Day 5
I love this market! It intends to celebrate the craftsmanship and tradition of Oaxacan Culture. There we can find handmade traditional crafts, colorful alebrijes, clothing and beautifully made textiles, and many more surprises.
6

Mezcales de Oaxaca

Day 5-6
Mezcal in our culture is believed to be a mystical, magical and rich brewage. The legend around mezcal is that one day there was a strike that hit the ground and from there the fist agave was born, but as any miracle, it needed the hands of humans to take out the most extraordinary flavor. I would suggest taking a tour to one of the local destilerias to have a close taste of this delicious ancient brewage.
7

Mitla

Day 6
Located only 45 minutes away from Oaxaca City, it is one of the best preserved archeological ruins in Mexico, it is amazing how you can see in detail carved stone buildings that are left in near-perfect conditions. This is for me a very inspiring area to explore and to connect to ancient cultures.
8

Museum of Cultures of Oaxaca, Santo Domingo

Day 6-7
This museum is housed in a beautiful Monastery adjacent to Santo Domingo's Temple. It is one of our best regional museums in the country. It aims to celebrate Oaxacan culture from pre-Hispanic times to modern day Oaxaca.
