Puerto Morelos

Day 1-2
Arrive in Puerto Morelos. A Tropical Welcome to Mexico! Discover the tranquil charm of Puerto Morelos, where pristine beaches and vibrant coral reefs await. At 5:30 pm, gather for a briefing on our upcoming adventure. It’s a chance to set the stage for our journey and connect with fellow travellers. After that, head out for our first group dinner! While our tour promises ample swimming time, beach enthusiasts are welcome to arrive earlier. Please note the possibility of encountering sargassum algae, which can affect the beach experience. Feel free to reach out to us for a pre-accommodation or further information. - Meals: Not included - Facilities: Hotel, Wi-Fi, AC, and beach access. ATM and currency exchange services are available in town. - Airport Transfer: Approximately 45 minutes / 30 km. We highly recommend you book your transfer before arrival to avoid being overcharged. Day 2-3
Snorkeling Reefs and Exploring Cenotes Today’s adventure begins with a brief snorkelling tour at Puerto Morelos Reef, followed by exploring the breathtaking Xu’x Ha Cenote, one of the best cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula. In the afternoon, we’ll journey to Pisté, the closest village to the Chichen Itzá Site. - Included Activities: Snorkel Tour. Xu’x Ha Cenote - Included Meals: Cook Group Lunch - Facilities: Hotel, Wi-Fi, AC and a pool for your relaxation - Route: Approximately 3.5 hours / 220 km

Bacalar

Day 3-5
Day 3: Discovering Chichén Itzá and Mayan Traditions Today, we embark on a journey to explore the world-famous Chichén Itzá Site. As soon as it opens, we’ll enter this UNESCO World Heritage site, one of the largest ancient cities in the world. Marvel at the iconic Kukulcan Pyramid, one of the seven wonders of the world, as we traverse through the ancient ruins. After our visit, the Yucatec Mayans will welcome us. Experience their rich traditions and savour a delightful traditional lunch prepared by the community. Finally, we will arrive in Bacalar, a beautiful relaxed village in front of a pristine lagoon. We’ll show you the main square and the best restaurant options. - Included Activities: Chichén Itza Archeological Site Guided Visit. Learn Mayan traditions at Xyaat Community - Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch - Facilities: Hotel, Wi-Fi for a small fee, AC and access to the lagoon. There are ATMs in town, and laundry facilities available upon request - Route: Approximately 4.5 hours / 305 km. - Day 4: Sailing and Relaxation at Bacalar Lagoon Today, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Bacalar as we embark on a marvellous sailing tour. Fed by underground cenotes, this stunning lagoon offers an ideal space for swimming and sailing. Marvel at the breathtaking hues of blue as we cruise along the lengthy, narrow lake, known for its seven different shades of blue. In the afternoon, we venture to the wilder area of the lagoon, Xul Ha, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a free afternoon of swimming and kayaking. - Included Activities: Sailing Tour at Bacalar Lagoon. Relax and swim at Xul-Há Lagoon (optional kayak rental) - Meals: Not included - Facilities: Hotel, Wi-Fi for a small fee, AC and access to the lagoon. Calakmul

Day 5-6
Mayan Wonders and Bat Cave Adventure Today, we’ll embark on an expedition to either the Becan or Calakmul Archeological Site, depending on the opening schedules affected by nearby railway construction. Both sites are nestled within one of Mexico’s largest reserves, boasting diverse flora and fauna. These remote sites offer a rare opportunity for tourists to climb their ancient pyramids. As we wander through the ruins, keep an eye out for exotic wildlife, including woodpeckers and echoing howler monkeys. In the afternoon, we’ll venture to a bat sinkhole and witness millions of bats emerge from the cave at sunset. Later, we’ll settle into our accommodation, consisting of basic cabins. - Included Activities: Visit Becan or Calakmul Archeological Site (not guided). Guided visit to the bat cave - Included Meals: Cook Group Lunch, Dinner - Facilities: Basic cabins - Route: Approximately 4.5 to 6.5 h / 200 to 320 Km, depending on which site we visit

Palenque

Day 6-8
Day 6: Cenote Exploration and Camp Adventure Today’s journey takes us to Palenque, but not without a memorable stop at Cenote Miguel Colorado for lunch. This open cenote offers a unique and refreshing experience, distinct from the ones we’ve explored before. Keep an eye out for exotic wildlife, including spider monkeys. Upon arrival at Palenque National Park, we’ll settle into our campsite at Cabañas Kin Balam. With the evening free, take the opportunity to unwind and relax at the bar or by the pool, soaking in the tranquil surroundings. In the evening, we will enjoy a bonfire under the stars! - Included Activities: Cenote Miguel Colorado - Included Meals: Breakfast, Cook Group Lunch - Facilities: Camping accommodations with upgrades available, along with Wi-Fi, a pool, a bar, a restaurant, and laundry services. - Route: Approximately 5.5 h / 390 Km - Day 7: Exploring Palenque National Park Marvels Our second day in Palenque promises an enriching experience as we embark on a guided visit to the Archeological Site. Nestled deep within the jungle, Palenque is one of Mexico’s most impressive archaeological wonders. Marvel at the exquisite Mayan architecture, intricate sculptures, and captivating bas-relief carvings that adorn the site. After the guided tour, take advantage of the opportunity to explore the surrounding jungle on a scenic hike back from the ruins. Or opt for a Temascal, a traditional indigenous ritual involving a steam bath. - Activities: Included: Guided tour of the Archeological Site of Palenque, including a museum. Free: Jungle hikes. Optional: Traditional Temascal (Indigenous steam bath) - Included Meals: Packed Lunch (Cook Group) - Facilities: Camping accommodations with upgrades available, along with Wi-Fi, a pool, a bar, and a restaurant. - Route: Approximately 20 min / 5 Km

San Cristobal de las Casas

Day 8-10
Day 8: Colonial Wonders and Hippie Vibes Today’s journey to San Cristóbal de las Casas offers a blend of exploration and serendipity. Depending on road conditions, we may take different routes and have the chance to visit some stunning waterfalls along the way, provided the water is crystal blue—a spectacle influenced by recent rainfall. We’ll spend two memorable days exploring the myriad attractions, ensuring you experience the best that San Cristóbal has to offer. Don’t forget to consult our “Guide for San Cristóbal” to make the most of your time here. - Included Activities: Explore the colonial town San Cristóbal de las Casas - Included Meals: Packed Lunch (Cook Group) - Facilities: Hotel, Wi-Fi and an excellent location. There are ATMs and laundry facilities conveniently located a few blocks away - Route: Approximately 6-5 h / 230-460 Km depending on the available route - Day 9: Exploring the Bohemian Charms of San Cristóbal Today, immerse yourself in the eclectic ambience of San Cristóbal de las Casas, where ancient traditions merge seamlessly with a bohemian, hippie atmosphere. This colonial gem enchants its quaint neighbourhoods, cobblestone streets, and bustling markets. We’ll guide you through the highlights of this enchanting town, strolling along pedestrian streets, visiting churches, exploring markets, and delving into museums showcasing folk costumes, and more. In the afternoon, feel free to continue your exploration at your own pace. Wander through the downtown area, indulge in local cuisine at charming restaurants, or experience the lively nightlife at vibrant bars. - Activities: Included: Introductory walk around the best spots of San Cristóbal. Optional: Explore San Cristóbal’s markets, museums, streets, restaurants, and bars. - Meals: Not included - Facilities: Hotel, Wi-Fi and an excellent location. There are ATMs and laundry facilities conveniently located a few blocks away - Day 10: Thank you for joining us… Wait for you back, Happy Trails Amig@s! Today marks the end of the tour, allowing you the opportunity to savour your remaining time in San Cristóbal de las Casas. Please be advised that accommodation for tonight is not included in the tour package. However, we’re here to assist you with any necessary arrangements. - Optional Activities: Extend your stay and join the group on an excursion around the Tzotzil villages surrounding San Cristóbal and Chiapa de Corzo (separate transportation) - Meals: Not included - Airport Transfer: Approximately 1.5 h / 80 Km.
