Serenity. Silence. Spirituality. If you search for ancestral lands, if you crave for a peaceful exploration of deep sensations within a sacred setting, surrounded by 13th century hermit's rock-hewn caves & churches, unspoiled wilderness and incredible vistas, this experience is for you. We will explore what is dubbed as "Romania's Athos" on a 4 day hike, camping and soul immersive trip into nature. You arrive in Bucharest, then continue 2 hr 30 mins by train to Buzău county, a recently awarded Unesco Global Geopark. We meet, we greet, we get supplies and then travel by local transfer to our 1st base camp, a camping spot for a first night accommodation into our ”civilizational detox”. The next 3 days are going to be constructed as a circuit, with max. 600m+ (2000 ft) vertical per day while camping under the stars, near lakes, cliffs and inspiring cave dwellings, during autumn fall and inner rise. Required experience: 1. A minimum of 10 days slept while camping in nature with own gear 2. Good fitness level, min 6h/day effort capacity 3. Comfortable into the wild (Romania is home for a variety of wild animals incl. bears) 4. Bring your own hiking material, you will be provided with a necessary list (some items might by provided by me if needed, eg: tent) Depending on the group, the trip can also include small guided self awareness exercises, emphatic interrogation, meditation. More could be said but for the moment let's just stick with the red line uniting the experience I plan for: you are here to enjoy nature, to connect, to heal. To (re)discover the joy of simply being. To feel your heart's strength and resilience. The last day will imply a slow reverse into society, with a kinder and hopefully, more understanding glance of it's turmoils. Additional costs: train ticket, groceries. Expected from fellow tripmates: nature lovers, open to self-discovery, curious, spiritual, friendly and kind.
About me! I like people and connection, accomplished plans and building projects. I like running, ski touring, rugby and I love the feeling you get when you reach the viewpoint after a day of hiking. I enjoy the outdoors since childhood but I've been exploring more into nature in the last 15 years. My experience includes multi day hiking trips during all seasons, short roping expeditions, ski touring traverses, some climbing and mountaineering. I'm on my own path of self discovery so meeting people and sharing stories with them is a way of growing. You can expect me to keep my word, to be kind, gentle and understanding, to clearly state my values and to stick to them. For me, having a deep connection means opening up to being vulnerable and having the courage to talk inquisitively, without too many convictions, about one's intimate feelings and thoughts. Let's grow together!
Details about the accommodation: Camping can be made in many ways. In this one, we will mix self reliance with the wonders of modernism, all while striving to be environmentally conscious. As much as possible, we will eat local, organic foods, with a last meal at a rural household, a place where you can also shower after 3 nights into the wilderness. All details about necessary gear will be discussed in due time before arriving. You can also reach out to me in the Q&A section.
