Seville
Tag 1-2
This first day will be like "Bienvenidos". Upon your arrival, we will meet in the old city center, where the journey will begin. In the morning and part of the afternoon, I will show you Sevilla's most emblematic monuments and magnificient parks. A typical lunch will be taken together in one of the city's numerous quality restaurants. The icing of the cake will be the visit of the Royal Alcazar. The Real Alcázar de Sevilla is the royal palace of Seville. The name 'Alcazar' means castle in Spanish and was derived from the Arabic word al-qasr (fortress or palace). The palace complex is in Mudéjar style: an architectural style with many influences from Moorish and Christian cultures. It is probably the oldest palace still in use in Europe: when King Felipe V visited Seville, this palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was still his residence. One of the attractions of the Alcazar Palace is the Patio de las Doncellas (photo). In the 'patio of the virgins', an elongated pond is surrounded by embedded gardens and a gallery with dentiled vaults with access to the reception rooms. The Salón de Embajadores (Ambassadors' Hall) is also impressive, with a splendid dome of worked cedar wood. Another historic building is the Casa de Contratación. In the 'Casa de Contratación' dating from 1503, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella received, among others, the explorer Christopher Columbus. All Spanish trade with the New World was administered here, and it was also home to a navigation school run by Vespucci. In addition, the palace complex has beautiful and extensive gardens: from Moorish to Renaissance style, with numerous ponds, exotic trees, shady paths and pavilions. To end this beautiful day, we will head to our rooftop hotel and enjoy a big family dinner party!

Córdoba
Tag 2-3
After a nice breakfast at our Sevilla hotel, we will head to our second stop, Cordoba. Welcome to the city of flowers, with 4 cultures and plenty of life! The Great Mosque, the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Synagogue and the Roman bridge are the prime examples of Córdoba’s old quarter. The city reflects its Roman past and the coexistence of Christian, Islamic and Jewish cultures throughout its history. I will show you the Jewish quarter, the Calahorra tower, the Roman theatre, Caballerizas Reales, Plaza de la Corredera… We'll also take a stroll to discover a tangle of narrow streets, squares, fountains and courtyards decorated with flowers. Food wise, the best-known areas for tapas are the historic quarter and the neighbourhoods of San Lorenzo, San Andrés and Santa Marina. I'll make sure you try local specialities like salmorejo (cold tomato soup), flamenquín (pork roll fried in breadcrumbs), aubergines with honey, mazamorra (cold almond soup), Iberian ham from Los Pedroches, cheese from Zuheros and wine from Montilla-Moriles (well, if you feel like it lol). In the evening, we will head to our palace style hotel for a well deserved rest!!

Rota
Tag 3-4
After a heartwarming breakfast at our hotel, let's go on the road again! We're now heading to Rota, at the north of the Bay of Cadiz. We will see one of its most significant buildings, Luna Castle (13th century), currently home to the Town Hall and the local tourist board. We will also admire the Baroque Caridad or San Juan Bautista Church, and San Roque Church, home to the statue of the town's patron saint. Of course, we will enjoy the city's beaches, La Costilla, alongside the old town, and Rompidillo, as well as other, unspoilt beaches further away from the centre if you wish. The water might be a little cool, but I'd recommend a nice sea bath to rejuvenate after our cultural adventures! After a little siesta (if you need it), we will go back to Sevilla, where our great rooftop hotel awaits for additional fun memories!

Seville

Back to the city that got my heart! After we've filled our stomach with plenty of typical Sevillan breakfast food, we will start our last stop by the visit of the palace of Las Dueñas. Built between the 15th and 16th centuries, Las Dueñas was named after the currently disappeared monastery of Santa María de las Dueñas, placed in the adjoining plot and demolished in 1868. In the XIX Century, Las Dueñas became a guesthouse, dividing its rooms and halls with walls and covering the coffered ceiling. In the 20th Century Las Dueñas has been a meeting point for members of the European royal families and international personalities of the culture, politics and art. Distinguished people such as the Empress Eugenia de Montijo, Lord Holland, Eduardo VIII and his bother Jorge VI, Alfonso XIII, Jacqueline Kennedy, Wallis Simpson, Grace Kelly and her husband Rainiero de Mónaco, among others. The garden is absolutely delighteful to visit for those plants & flowers lovers too. After a Sevillan lunch, we will spend the rest of our day seeing all famous or hidden treasures Sevilla still has to offer. Of course, if you loved a place so much on day 1 and wish to go back, I'll try to make that possible :-) Time for "Hasta luego" !!
