Sanctuary of Christ the King-Portugal
Tag 1
The Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument and shrine dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ overlooking the city of Lisbon, situated in Almada, in Portugal. It was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, after the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon visited that monument. The project was inaugurated on 17 May 1959. The giant statue was erected to express gratitude because the Portuguese were spared the direct destructive effects of World War II.

Setúbal
Tag 1
Inhabited since ancient times by the Phoenicians and the Romans, who settled on the south bank of the Sado River (in Troia - opposite the current city) and named the settlement Cetóbriga, which later evolved into Setúbal. It was the Romans who initiated one of the region's most traditional activities - salt harvesting and food preservation in salting tanks, the traces of which are still preserved on the Troia Peninsula. The development of Setúbal has always been linked to maritime activities facilitated by its location at the mouth of the Sado River, already in the 14th century becoming one of the country's main ports. In this region, we can visit, depending on the weather conditions and available time: 1 - Arrábida Mountains 2 - Dream beaches 3 - Historic area 4 - Livramento Market 5 - São Filipe Fortress

Alcácer do Sal
Tag 1-3
Gracefully situated on the right bank of the Sado River and stretching over a gentle hill, Alcácer do Sal has been inhabited since very ancient times. Archaeological remains found here, dating back to the Neolithic period, also reveal the presence of Greeks, Phoenicians, and other peoples from the Mediterranean basin. Its Roman name was Salacia Urbs Imperatoria, and its great importance within the Empire was due to its unique location along the waterway of the Sado River. This facilitated the transport of products from the inland regions (such as wheat, olive oil, and wine) to other Mediterranean locations occupied by Rome. Consequently, Alcácer became one of the most important inland port cities in Western Iberia, renowned for salt production, which was added to its toponym, and for industries related to fish salting and paste. This is the village where we will be staying overnight.

Chapel of Bones (Évora)
Tag 3
One of the most unusual sights in Evora is the macabre Igreja de São Francisco & Capela dos Ossos. The Capela dos Ossos (Chapel of Bones) is a small chapel covered with the bones of around 5,000 people to serve as a reminder of the brevity of life and the certainty of death. The bones and skulls are arranged in an intricate pattern, complete with two desiccated corpses (one of which is a child) hanging from the walls. The bones were collected here from 42 overflowing monastic cemeteries, which were taking up valuable space in the small town, and are held in place on the chapel walls by cement.

Templo Romano Évora
Tag 3
The Roman Temple in Evora is one of the greatest and best preserved roman temples in the Iberian Peninsula. That is why it was considered World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986. This is the ex-libris of the city, a sort of visiting card. And, of course, the most important representative of the Roman remains in Evora.
