Costa Rica is a paradise located in Central America, and as a biodiversity bridge connecting the North and South American continents, it is an amazing location for us to encounter many species of exotic wildlife. Additionally, after almost a year of putting so much effort into your work or studies, let's immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture of the Pura Vida lifestyle, let's enjoy its delicious cuisine, and let's dance to the rhythms of salsa and bachata while creating unforgettable memories. This adventure will take us to volcanoes, white sand beaches, wonderful waterfalls, hanging bridges in the middle of a cloud forest, hot springs, and many other places that will make your heart melt. This won't be just an ordinary travel, but a lifetime experience filled with laughter, relaxation, excitement, wellness, friendship, and lots of moments that you will treasure forever. Are you ready to embark on this majestic adventure?

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta About me! I'm AnaGaby (both as 1 name), a Costa Rican traveler, excited by my wonderful country and eager to share it with other people seeking magical places and incredible experiences. I am 28 years old, and I have been in love with traveling since I was a child! At first, I thought it was all about being able to leave your country to visit another one; however, as I grew up, I understood I love the feeling of being out of my comfort zone to experience other cultures, to meet new people, to try new foods, to get lost and do the impossible to find your way while enjoying being lost, and discovering new parts of your own self. Are you down to share that with me and with our other TripMates?

Details about the accommodation: We will be staying mainly at Airbnbs, and the idea is to share rooms (with people from the group). Nonetheless, if you do not feel comfortable sharing; please let me know in advanced to try and arrange something different for you. Hopefully, there won't be any changes regarding the places we will stay at; nonetheless, I will keep you posted if anything changes.

Fraijanes

Tag 1-2
Let the Adventure Begin! As excited as we will all be to share great moments together, after arriving at the airport, we will get to an Airbnb near one of our top volcanoes called "Poás Volcano." Our first afternoon-night together should be a time for everybody to settle in; therefore, we will enjoy an amazing dinner, play some fun games to get to know each other a little bit more, and get some rest before starting our journey the next day. I hope you are already packing your bags to come and join us!

Poás Volcano

Tag 2
It's time to "unpack" our explorers' attitude! We will get a feeling of the Costa Rican essence by starting the morning with a very special visit to a cultural "Mercadito." After spending time eating and talking with the locals, we will go visit the famous Poás Volcano; an active volcano that has one of the largest craters in the world. This place will let you explore its attractions through a network of trails, especially in a cold climate tempered by a faint drizzle that most of the year is imposed... Would that be all? Of course not, there's one more stop before we reach our final destination of the day. We will enjoy "La Paz Waterfall Gardens," the most popular nature tour in the San Jose area featuring Five Famous Waterfalls and The Largest Animal Sanctuary in Costa Rica. It is by far the best place to see wildlife in Costa Rica. Once our second day adventures come to an "end," we will arrive at La Fortuna where we will sleep and get ready for day 3.
3

La Fortuna

Tag 2-4
May the sense of gorgeous nature guide our day! This time, we will visit The Fortuna River Waterfall; it is located in a biological reserve with an area of 210 acres of transition premontane tropical wet forest, and it is part of the Arenal Volcano National Park. Here, we will observe this splendid 70 meters high waterfall and take a refreshing swim in its clear waters. Additionally, at noon and since we'll be near the area, it would be a great time to take a tour at the Arenal Volcano Park and explore everything it has to offer. Within the national park, we will go through short trails (3.4 km and 2 km) and pass through both secondary forest and lava fields from previous eruptions. At night, we will share some time at a local restaurant to enjoy the view of the active volcano and create more amazing memories. Are you ready?
4

Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio

Tag 4
Before we move to our next location, we'll stop at Rio Celeste at the Tenorio Volcano National Park for a nice walk. The park features different ecosystems including cloud forest, rainforest, river habitats and tons of diverse wildlife, especially many species of birds. The hiking level is moderate and the first section from the entrance to the waterfall is on a very nice and flat trail. It is mostly dirt but goes from concrete to dirt a few times and through one suspension bridge. Since we are not allowed to swim at the National Park, once we get out of it, we will head to a “Rio Celeste Free Pool” to swim in its turquoise waters before we continue with our journey.
5

Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Preserve

Tag 4-6
Ready for our next stop? We'll arrive at Monteverde, a small town in the mountain ranges of Costa Rica and a major destination for ecotourism in the country. On our first night there, we'll take it "easy", go to the town's heart, have dinner at "Bar Amigos;" ohhhh, and since it's on a Friday, we'll stay to dance and have fun. On our second day, we'll be in close contact with nature by taking a tour on the hanging bridges and then, for those who are up to, we'll experience it from above. Monteverde is famous for its unbelievable ziplining tours, so get ready to get your adrenaline pumping as you fly through the cloud forests on some of the best zip lines in the world. In the afternoon, we'll share with the locals at the cute stores downtown and we'll watch one of the best sunsets of your life at the "San Luis Pointview". At night, we'll enjoy some free time to either rest, check out other parts of Monteverde's downtown or share time at the Airbnb. On our third, and last day at Monteverde, we'll visit the "Ficus Root Bridge," an incredible and picturesque natural bridge formed by a latticework of roots crossing about 15 feet high over a river with more roots reaching down to the water creating the pillars of the bridge. For lunch, we'll buy food at a supermarket to have a picnic at Cerro Plano while enjoying a wellness and mental health activity.

Tamarindo

Tag 6-8
Beach Time! Once we arrive at Tamarindo, our "chillax" time will be part of our daily experiences. There are tons of wonderful beaches in Guanacaste that we'll visit during the two days we'll be there, for example: Conchal, Tamarindo, Langosta, Avellanas, Grande, Potrero, La Penca, Danta, Dantita, and Brasilito. Furthermore, we'll visit a town called "Las Catalinas," a beautiful beachfront place with beach houses, shops, restaurants, small hotels and inns, pedestrian streets, plazas, parks, and recreational areas. Additionally, we will delight our palates with Costa Rican cuisine flavors by learning to prepare it ourselves; a cooking class will be the best way to eat more authentic and delicious food. But that's not all, during our time near the beach, we'll get the feeling of movement and freedom: You will be able to enjoy a Latin Dance class while attracting positivity and energy to your life. How do sunsets, beach days, fun nights, a cooking class, a dance class, and lots of memories sound to you?
7

Punta Leona

Tag 8-10
How about we make the most of the last 3 days of our trip in Costa Rica? On our first night there, you will get some free time to explore around, and for those who want to stay at the Airbnb, we will have some fun wellness activities planned. It's a win-win for everybody! The next morning, we will head to Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the most beautiful places I've ever been; Manuel Antonio contains a charming combination of the rain forest, beaches, and coral reefs. These beaches are the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest, and the snorkeling is excellent, too. The forest is home to sloths, iguanas, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys, white-faced monkeys, and millions of colorful little crabs. The trail that winds around Punta Catedral features some spectacular views. In the evening, we will stop at Jacó to have our second dance class, eat dinner at a local restaurant, and enjoy some nightlife adventures. On our last day there, we will have breakfast at Punta Leona's beach, and we'll go to Carara National Park, which in indigenous Huetar language means "River of lizards." It has the only transition forest in the Central Pacific, resulting in diversity of flora and fauna, where typical species of dry and humid forests converge. This National Park is a worldwide known birding destination as it has very diverse birdlife, where stands out the Scarlet Macaw (Lapa Roja - Ara macao), a species that is in danger of extinction. On the way back to San José, we'll stop at the Tárcoles Bridge to watch the crocodiles in their natural habitat, and be prepared to watch a great number of them. Our last stop before going to the Airbnb is Hacienda La Chimba, where we have 2 options: take a tour on an amazing coffee plantation where they recreated an old town of 1920s full of history, costarican details and everything around the coffee culture, also the interesting process in the wet mill and try delicious cup of coffee, or hike the Mano de Mantra trail, a little bit challenging, but totally worth it. This one will be up to you!

San José

Tag 10-11
On our last night, we will have a Farewell Dinner to celebrate the time we spent together. It will be a time for everybody to share pictures, enjoy their last Costa Rican dinner, play some games, exchange hugs, pack their bags, and prepare for traveling.
