Magic Mountain (2 DAYS): Misty Peak, Choo Choo Train & Old Towns of Harz

Here is a mountain that you are sure to love as much as the famous Goethe did. Apart from scaling the tallest peak of Northern Germany, you will explore streets of half-timbered houses, ride an old school steam railway and hear all about ‘Night of the Witches’! Starting early on Saturday morning, we take a train down to Quedlinburg via Magdeburg from Berlin to start our journey by exploring this UNESCO heritage site. We then move on to Wernigerode also referred to as the “Pearl of the Harz” where we would be staying for the night. The following day, we catch a bus to Schierke, the starting point of our hike to the summit of Brocken. Once at the summit, we capture the stunning sights of Harz National Park and grab a bite/drink before catching the iconic Harz steam railway back to Wernigerode, pick up our bags and then catch the train back to Berlin via Magdeburg at 7:40pm that arrives in Berlin just before 11pm on Sunday. The trip fee includes - Accommodation in a hostel for one night (we have the complete room in a hostel) - Return train tickets to Berlin & - Ride in the historic Harz steam railways. All group expenses will be managed using Splitwise, so please have the splitwise app downloaded prior to your trip to make it easy to track & settle any group related expenses incurred during the trip. A bit about me, Maddy here, I am a Kiwi Indian living presently in Berlin having moved here in May last year with my partner from Sydney. Having lived in 5 countries & travelled to just under 40 countries covering 4 continents featuring numerous solo trips and creating new friendships along the way, I can say with a lot of assurance, you are going to have a great time on my trips.
