I was fortunate to grow up in and around National Parks in South Africa and from there my love for nature, and animals, gaining as much knowledge as possible about our continent and meeting people from all avenues. I absolutely love driving endless hours exploring and for this reason, I joined Overlanding and have been traveling extensively throughout Southern and East Africa. I would like to share my knowledge and experience with like-minded people that enjoy traveling!

Tag 1-2

Welcome to South Africa! Today you will be picked up from OR Tambo Airport and transferred to the African Boutique Hotel where we'll stay for the night. After check-in and freshening up, we will meet at 6 pm for a welcome/trip briefing followed by welcome dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Hoedspruit

Tag 2-3

This morning, we leave at 06:00 from our hotel and travel for about 6 hours to Hoedspruit. Upon arrival, we will be welcomed by lodge staff who will assist with check-in and an orientation at Leopard's Lair Bush Lodge, where we'll be based for the next 4 nights. At 3:30 PM our guide will pick us up and we will embark on a three-hour sunset game drive in a Big Five reserve. The sunset game drives treat you to the breathtaking spectacle of a sunset paired with a refreshing cold drink, where guests are allowed to dismount the vehicle and stretch their legs. The knowledgeable guides provide insight into the fascinating world of wildlife, enhancing your chances of encountering iconic animals. Our guide will take us back to the lodge where you will enjoy a hearty meal.

Kruger National Park

Tag 3-4

Our guide will pick us up at 5 AM for a full-day trip to Kruger. Embark on an unforgettable adventure, immersing yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the Kruger National Park. Our day begins with a warm welcome at the gate, accompanied by a delightful morning coffee to kickstart your adventure. Our expert guide will ensure an enlightening journey through the park's rich fauna and flora, gaining insights into the intricate ecosystems and behaviors of its inhabitants. A highlight of the excursion is a lunch stop at one of the famous picnic stops, allowing you to savor delicious food amidst the natural wonders of the Kruger National Park. Return to lodge and enjoy a delicious meal prepared on the fire, under the stars.

Tag 4-5

This morning we'll be picked up at 8 AM for your full-day Panorama Tour. We will enjoy a lovely scenic drive along the Panorama route. The Blyde River Canyon is a breathtaking natural wonder that captivates visitors with its stunning vistas and diverse ecosystems. this canyon, the largest green canyon in the world, offers a plethora of activities. During this full-day tour, the experienced guides will give you insight and history into these magnificent natural wonders. Conclude the day with a visit to the charming small town of Graskop, where one can stroll through the antique-filled streets and cap off the adventure with a delightful lunch. Throughout the day, we'll be able to enjoy the beauty of Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels, God's Window, Waterfalls, The Pinnacle Rock, and The Gorge Lift. We'll return to your lodge in the late afternoon followed by a traditional African dinner.

Hoedspruit

Tag 5-6

Today is a full day at leisure where you can choose from a list of activities such as Spa treatments, quad biking, a trip into town, and much more. Some of you may prefer to enjoy the tranquility of the lodge, to take a walk in the Wildlife Estate's greenbelt.

Johannesburg

Tag 6

Our guide will be ready to take you on a 90-minute interpretive bush walk at 6 AM. Our guide will lead you along winding pathways, pointing out the diverse array of plants and flowers that call this ecosystem home. As you walk, he will point out tracks that animals left behind and share fascinating insights into the interconnectedness of the flora and fauna, offering glimpses into the rich biodiversity of this natural habitat. Be prepared to immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and scents of the bush as you discover and learn the hidden wonders that nestle within this serene landscape. Once back at the lodge, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast before getting your bags packed after which we will check out and return to Johannesburg.
