The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the best short treks in Nepal known for its spectacular mountain sceneries and beautiful villages. This trek lies north of the beautiful lake town of Pokhara. Join us this March-April for an unforgettable and immersive journey to the vantage point Poon Hill (3210m) from where you will be viewing the morning sun rays crawling upon the giant Himalayas like the Annapurna South, Vara Shikhar, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, Annapurna 2, Annapurna 4 and many more. During the trek, you will be walking through the enchanting colorful rhododendron forests while passing through the magnificent villages of Gurung and Magar, and observing their daily lifestyle. During this trip, you will spend some days exploring the rich cultural city of Kathmandu and the spectacular lake town of Pokhara.

About me! Hello everyone!! I am Suresh Gurung. I am a professional trekking leader working in tourism for the last 11 years and currently doing a master's degree in adventure tourism studies. I have a bachelor's degree in Nepalese Culture and History and a B1-level certification in the French language. And I run an adventure travel company in Nepal called Yak Ru Adventure. I am a friendly, dynamic, and humourous type of person and always keep the safety and experience of the group as my main priority. I am a passionate traveler. During the off-season, I explore various regions of Nepal to create amazing trekking and tour itineraries. I am well informed about most of the trekking routes of Nepal, and the local cultures, and traditions, thanks to the experience that I got throughout my years of working.

Details about the accommodation: This trek is of 10 nights/11 days. The first 2 nights will be in Kathmandu in a 3-star category hotel in the BB plan. Then the next 6 days, you will spend the night in teahouses and lodges. During this period, all meals are included, and all rooms are shared. The following next day, you will spend the night in Pokhara in a 3-star category hotel in the BB plan and the next final day in Kathmandu in a 3-star category hotel in the BB plan. TIA

Tag 1-2

One of the members of our company will welcome you at the international airport terminal gate and take you to the hotel. You will have a few hours to rest. Later, in the evening, you will meet with the tour guide in your hotel lobby. He will brief you about tomorrow's day trip.

Kathmandu Valley

Tag 2-3

You will go on a guided sightseeing tour to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will visit one of the holiest temples of Hindus, the Pashupatinath temple. Nearby this temple is located the largest in Nepal, Boudhanath stupa. After visiting these places, you will head to Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, you will meet with your trek guide who will brief you about the trekking program. Later, you can stroll around the vibrant streets of Thamel.

Australian Camp Trail head

Tag 3-4

After having breakfast, you will drive to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city. From Pokhara, you will continue driving towards Kande. Upon reaching Kande, you will take a small break and begin towards Australian Camp. Trekking through the forested trail, you will reach camp for the night's stay.

Landruk

Tag 4-5

After having breakfast, you will begin trekking towards Landruk. The trail ascent to Pitam Deurali through the small villages. From Pitam Deurali you can see magnificent views of mountains including Pokhara Valley too. Then the trail descends down through the dense forests and crossing several suspension bridges you will finally arrive at Landruk.

Ghandruk

Tag 5-6

After having breakfast, you will begin trekking towards Ghandruk. The trail will descend to Modi Khola and after crossing the bridge you will begin the ascent to beautiful Ghandruk village. Today's trek distance is short so after lunch, you will have time to explore the entire village of Ghandruk which is mostly inhabited by Gurung people. You will also explore Gurung Museum and can get dressed in traditional Gurung dress.

Tadapani

Tag 6-7

Today, the trail will take you to Tadapani. Ascending on a forested trail and through small villages, you will reach Tadapani for an overnight stay. On the way, you will also get to see beautiful landscape views.

Ghode Pani

Tag 7-8

After having breakfast, you will begin trekking toward one of the most famous and beautiful villages of the Annapurna region, Ghorepani. The trail to these villages is mostly passed by dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and birch. Upon reaching Ghorepani, you will be welcomed by kind locals and dominating views of the Himalayan mountains.

Tikhedhungga

Tag 8-9

You will wake up early in the morning and hike to Poon Hill to see a gorgeous sunrise. Poon Hill is one of the famous vantage points of this region. After spending some time here, you will descend down to Ghorepani, have breakfast, and begin trekking towards Tikhedhunga.

Pokhara

Tag 9-10

From Tikhedhunga, you will trek through lush forests of oak and rhododendron. Further passing by small villages, you will descend to Nayapul. From here, you will drive to Pokhara. In the evening, you will explore the bustling Lakeside market.

Kathmandu

Tag 10-11

Driving along the same route, you will reach Kathmandu. The drive will be long and scenic. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will move to your hotel and rest. In the evening, you can explore Thamel and end your day with a farewell dinner organized by the company.

After having breakfast, one of the members of the company will drive you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back to your home. You will bid farewell to Nepal with the hope to come back again.
