Istanbul's multidimensional experience

I have created a short travel itinerary for someone who is new to Istanbul to experience the historical, cultural, artistic, and natural values of Istanbul. The first stop is the vibrant Fatih district, the Historical Peninsula, where numerous civilizations come together. The second stop is the Beyoğlu district, including Galata, Istiklal Avenue, and Taksim, which have been integrated into Istanbul's historical fabric. The third stop will take us from Karaköy to Beşiktaş, following the sea line on the European side of Istanbul, exploring cultural, traditional, and contemporary areas. The fourth stop is Kadıköy, a beloved neighborhood on the Asian side of Istanbul, where we will have breakfast and experience the pleasant Moda coastline followed by Bars' Street. On the fifth day, we will explore Büyükada, where we will enjoy nature walks, historical structures, and traditional island life.

About me! I am a master's student in curatorial design. I have worked in various archaeological excavations, museums, and art institutions in Turkey. Currently, I am working on art and exhibition projects. I am knowledgeable about architecture, cultural heritage, contemporary art, and new media. I love traveling, getting to know new cultures, appreciating nature, and hearing and sharing people's vast experiences. I particularly enjoy platforms where people can meet and engage with each other through alternative means. That's why I wanted to embark on a journey as a Proleader on Join My Trip. Details about the accommodation I can suggest a few options an the cost is already included in the price: 1. Hostel (bunk beds, 4-person room) - a centrally located hostel, mostly used by international backpackers, which we will use only for sleeping as we will have an active travel route. 2. Airbnb house (private bedroom for each person, double bed) is a centrally located Airbnb house suitable for those who want to stay in a more comfortable, private room.

Fatih

Tag 1-2

We start from the lively Fatih district, which is the gateway to the Historic Peninsula, where civilizations from ancient times converged. While visiting iconic landmarks such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Basilica Cistern, we will travel through the rich history of Istanbul by reaching the historical inns through the secret passages.

Karaköy

Tag 2-3

We will experience the cultural texture of Istanbul by following the sea line stretching from Karaköy to Beşiktaş on the European side of the city. This route will offer a glimpse into Istanbul's thriving arts and culture scene. We will also taste Turkish cuisine along the way.

Beyoğlu

Tag 3-4

We will explore the integration of the historical and the modern in Beyoğlu district. We will pass through the fascinating streets of Galata on the lively Istiklal Street and arrive at the lively atmosphere of Taksim Square. In this process, we will visit museums and galleries and experience the fusion of traditional and contemporary elements in Istanbul's rich art environment.

Kadıköy

Tag 4-5

Cross the Bosphorus to the Anatolian side of Istanbul and we will discover the much-loved district of Kadıköy. We will start the morning with an authentic Turkish breakfast and then enjoy the calm atmosphere of Moda beach. In the evening, we will dive into the lively atmosphere of Bar Street, which is indispensable for young people.

Büyükada

Tag 5-6

We will escape from the crowded city and go to Büyükada, the biggest of the Islands. We will explore historical structures by taking nature walks among the magnificent landscapes and experience the traditional island life yourself. In this quiet island shelter, we will see a calm and peaceful side of Istanbul.
