From the busy streets of Delhi, the vibrant capital, to the sacred banks of the Ganges River, we will be immerse into the essence of Diwali, the festival of lights. Blissed in the magnificence of the Taj Mahal, let be enveloped by the magical atmosphere of Rajasthan and lose yourself in the immensity of the Thar Desert. On our expedition, in addition to exploring historic landmarks and stunning landscapes, we will be invited to actively participate in Diwali celebrations, where colors, music and spirituality merge into a truly unique experience.

Hi there! We are Guilherme and Nadine, a passionate globetrotting couple from Brazil and together we’ve been to over 67 countries bikepacking and backpacking, achieving lifetime goals as crossing more than 4000 km by bicycle in Europe, reaching Everest Base Camp, crossing from Kenya to Cape Town with public transportation. Now decided to share the best experiences we’ve had along our journey. We craft all itineraries with the most authentic and immersive experience we previously had. We both have healthcare skills background to assure your integrity all the way. Join us to live unforgettable lifetime experiences.

We chose accommodations well located in the city center and close to the main points of interest, aiming to facilitate the transportation provided for in the program. These are accommodations that absorb the atmosphere of our destinations, marked by the cultural influences of the region, highlighting the contrasts throughout the trip. In the rooms, always with two beds, we provide ventilation through fans. The bathrooms have hot water, European toilets and are stocked with toilet paper. However, they maintain the Asian style, and, with few exceptions, they do not have a bathtub or shower box – the shower is integrated into the bathroom itself. Most hotels offer Wi-Fi or provide computers with internet access for guests. We prioritize central or very well located hotels to facilitate scheduled travel. Train and bus trips are in Sleeper class, with bunk beds that allow you to sleep completely lying down. However, it is important to remember that we are in India, and public transport conditions may not be equivalent to European standards or those of other Asian countries. Still, considering our experience, it is possible to rest and sleep during train journeys. The night in the desert is experienced in tents or, for the more adventurous, outdoors under the starry Thar sky. This camp does not have sanitary facilities. Any questions about the trip? You can let me know in the Q&A section!

New Delhi

Tag 2-3
We ventured through the intricate streets, alleys and lanes of Delhi. We will continue discovering the city in an unusual and unique way – by bike! In the afternoon, we will visit one of the most iconic temples here.
3

Varanasi

Tag 3-4
First thing in the morning, we will board the fastest train in India on our way to Varanasi. After leaving our luggage at the hotel, we will walk through the city streets. In Varanasi's oldest neighborhood, we visited the photogenic Dashashwamedh Ghat, a set of steps that flow into the banks of the Ganges River. We continue exploring the city, now along the banks of the sacred river to Rani Ghat, one of the most famous crematoriums along the Ganges. After an intense day, we participated in Agni Pooja, a fire worship ceremony in devotion to Shiva. A ritual full of symbolism and emotion, which attracts thousands of faithful to this sacred place. This is certainly one of the most mystical moments of our trip.
4

Varanasi

Tag 4-5
Aboard a typical boat from the region, we sail along the Ganges where we watch the sunrise and the awakening of the city. Between flaming pyres and elders bathing in the waters of the sacred river, the rituals in the Ganges mark all travelers seeking the essence of India. During the morning, we continued exploring the city, now through a traditional neighborhood of Varanasi. Along the way, we stopped at the corner of an alley, at one of the most special lassi shops in all of India. With luggage full of memories of Varanasi, we embarked on our long journey by local train, expecting a great adventure, but also an authentic experience, of discovery and sharing, heading to Agra.
5

Agra

Tag 5-6
After a night on board a train, the day starts slowly. After resting, we went out to try the Indian flavors. In the afternoon, we visited the imposing Red Fort. Before nightfall, we took advantage of the sunset to admire the Taj Mahal, in reddish tones, on the other side of the Yamuna River. A splendid and unforgettable sight.
6

Taj Mahal

Tag 6-7
We woke up very early to watch the sunrise at one of the 7 Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal. Later we leave, slow down the fast pace of Agra and let ourselves be carried away by the serenity of Pushkar and visit the unique temple in the world dedicated to Brahma, God of Creation.
7

Pushkar

Tag 7-8
Known for being an oasis of tranquility, we will get lost in the intricate alleys of Pushkar until we reach the shores of the sacred lake, which all Hindus must visit at least once in their lives. We went up to the Savitri Mata temple to admire the stunning views over the city. In the afternoon, we boarded our train heading to Jaisalmer, the last city before the desert that separates India from Pakistan. The City of Gold, as it is known, continues to be an obligatory stop on the camel caravan route that travels through the region's dunes.
8

Jaisalmer

Tag 8-9
The Jaisalmer fort, one of the largest and best preserved in the country, rises above the city like a gigantic dune. Built in the 12th century, this majestic sand castle will be the center of our attention this morning. After exploring, there is time to visit the city lake and recharge our batteries before venturing into the desert. After lunch, we traveled in jeeps to the Thar Desert, the great desert of the Indian subcontinent. We will ride a camel across the hot sands to a small village lost in the desert, where we will learn about the customs of the region from our hosts. After watching the sun fall over the dunes, we will go to the camp and enjoy a traditional dinner, which meets the wonderful starry sky of the Thar.
9

Jodhpur

Tag 9-10
We will wake up without rushing, have our breakfast in the desert and get ready for our next destination: Jodhpur, The Blue City. We will arrive in the new city ready to enjoy walking through the old city's tangle of medieval streets, which form a complex neighborhood of blue houses that stretches for more than 10 kilometers. This is certainly one of the most photogenic tours of our trip, and at night, we won't have a cooking class, but we will be enveloped by an exciting story behind the curries to be discovered.
10

Udaipur

Tag 10-11
We will explore Jodhpur and visit Mehrangarh Fort, an imposing architectural work built in the 15th century by Maharaja Rao Jodha. We discovered palaces, courtyards, majestic statues and spectacular views over the city – Mehrangarh is one of Rajasthan's best-kept treasures. We continued our journey to our next destination, Udaipur. In the late afternoon, watch a puppet show and traditional Rajasthani dances.
11

Udaipur

Tag 11-12
In Udaipur we embarked on a different activity: cycling around Lake Fateh Sagar and taking the opportunity to try another Chai. In the afternoon, we will discover the magnificent City Palace. Built on the banks of Lake Pichola, the palace is the largest royal complex in Rajasthan. We will discover its courtyards, pavilions, corridors, terraces, rooms and hanging gardens, as well as the museum, which reveals some of the most beautiful artifacts and pieces of Mughal art.
12

Jaipur

Tag 12-13
We woke up early and caught our train early in the morning heading to the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. And we're just in time to celebrate Diwali, the country's biggest celebration. Here, feel at home: we will have unique experiences that cannot be taught in books, involving local families, and a lot of involvement in the local culture.
13

Jaipur

Tag 13-14
We wake up calmly, have our breakfast and dedicate the day to discovering the historic capital of Rajasthan. Gateway to the most extravagant region in India, Jaipur is known for its beautiful and bustling streets that lead to majestic buildings from the colonial era. We start by visiting the unmissable Amber Palace, built in the 16th century. Then, we head to the chaotic center of Pink City, where the markets are buzzing with movement and color. Here we will have lunch in one of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in the city. At dusk, we left for the illustrious “ food tour ”, where we take you to discover not only the best street food in India, but the legacies of Jaipur, which only a local would know.
14

Jaipur

Tag 14-15
we will visit some more points of the city of Jaipur, such as the Galta ji temple, also known as Monkey Temple. We will drink one of the best Lassi in the city, and as we are in India, our visit would be incomplete if we did not experience Indian cinema – the famous Bollywood, in one of the most iconic cinemas in the country. At night, we'll see the city from one of its best angles: from the top of Nahargarh Fort, and with luck, some fireworks. We got together for dinner, marked by an atmosphere of celebration and farewell, celebrating the adventures we had experienced in recent days.
15

Jaipur

Tag 15
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to this incredible expedition, where we made friends and memories for a lifetime, with the promise that we will see each other again in some other corner of the world.
