Have you ever imagined seeing a wild lion just a few meters away? Or step on the oldest sands in the world? Or even interact and ask about life and basic concepts like bathing for populations that you thought only existed in National Geography? This is your opportunity to live this experience. We departure for a 15 days expedition from Windhoek in Namibia on our 4x4 overlander truck, heading to Cape Town in South Africa.

Hi there! We are Guilherme and Nadine, a passionate globetrotting couple from Brazil and together we’ve been to over 67 countries bikepacking and backpacking, achieving lifetime goals as crossing more than 4000 km by bicycle in Europe, reaching Everest Base Camp, crossing from Kenya to Cape Town with public transportation. Now decided to share the best experiences we’ve had along our journey. We craft all itineraries with the most authentic and immersive experience we previously had. We both have healthcare skills background to assure your integrity all the way. Join us to live unforgettable lifetime experiences.

In cities, hotels are well located, in central and safe areas to provide freedom of movement for travelers who wish to venture onto the streets on their own. During the journeys, we will experience a mix of hotels and campsites with tents. The purpose of camping is to promote experiences that are only possible with this type of accommodation, such as camping in the middle of Etosha National Park. The tents are highly resistant waterproof, fitting up to 3 people, but there will only be 2 people per tent. Materials such as mattress and sleeping bag will be provided. If the traveler wishes to bring their own for greater comfort, it is also possible, with discussion about reducing the total price of the trip. In all locations it is possible to upgrade your room to single accommodation with an additional cost depending on the accommodation. Any questions about the trip? You can let me know in the Q&A section!

Windhoek

Tag 1-2
Welcome to Namibia! Or as they say around here, Haaseb! We will be aware of your arrival at Windhoek international airport and will assist with your transportation to the hotel where we will stay the first night and we will be able to meet everyone who will be part of this big new family (shuttle service will be arranged according to arrival time of participants, and in some cases, it will be necessary to wait to complete the van). Here we will review our itinerary again and go over all the trip details. Windhoek is full of excellent restaurants and establishments. If we manage to get everyone in the group together during the day, we can go out to see the city's main tourist attractions and become more environmentally friendly.
2

Etosha National Park

Tag 2-3
After breakfast, we will enter our second home on this expedition, our overlander truck, a vehicle fully adapted to cover the terrain and with all the comfort necessary to endure the trip, such as a small refrigerator, soft seats, and USB plugs to charge cell phones and cameras. On that day we will have a long journey on the road with 440 km covered, totaling around 5 hours of travel including stops- Long hours of drive, but we guarantee that all boredom will dissapear when we cross the gate of Etosha National Park. After settling in at our campsite, we will head out for a few hours' Safari to see animals drinking water and cooling off in the park's small wells. Safaris are called GAME, because they are literally a game of spotting these animals roaming freely across the landscape. So, just as we can see all the animals, it may happen that we don't see one or the other in particular. It's all part of luck and our keen eyes. However, Etosha has a high number of resident animals and fun will be guaranteed. We will return to the camp in the late afternoon, where we can enjoy its facilities such as the swimming pool and cafeteria. Our cook will provide a nice dinner for us at camp. But this day we won't go to bed early, as here at nightfall we will be able to witness one of nature's most beautiful spectacles when animals gather to drink water at the well located a few meters from the camp. Totally safe and secure, we will be able to sit back and enjoy the world we live in.
3

Etosha National Park

Tag 3-4
We will wake up very early so that we can leave during the first round of the Safari. We will set off towards the interior of Etosha Park in search of the rarest animals such as cheetahs, leopards and lions, which come out to hunt early in the morning. We will arrive at a second camp located in the middle of the park where we will have lunch and stretch our legs a little. We will return to our initial camp in the afternoon to rest and spend the night.
4

Omapaha Etosha Himba Village

Tag 4-5
After breakfast we will visit an indigenous population in the region. The Himba are a semi-nomadic people who inhabit the northern region of Namibia and the southern region of Angola. They are characterized by the use of a cream made from minerals that leaves your skin red and protects you from the sun and insects. We will have the opportunity to visit their village and learn about your customs if the village chief allows us entry. Next, we head to the petrified forest, a national monument with pine trees dating back 280 million years. Here we will also be able to see an endemic species of plant called Welwitschia, with an impressive ability to survive in this arid environment, with a lifespan of over 1000 years. We will continue through the plains of Damaraland to our lodge for the day, where we can rest and enjoy the landscape.
5

Swakopmund

Tag 5-6
After breakfast, we will head towards the city of Swakopmund, the second largest city in the country, located on the banks of the Atlantic. On the way, we will pass one of the most imposing mountains in the region, Spitzkoppe, where we will undertake a short guided hike to visit traces of one of the first civilizations in the world. Approaching the coast we will see several carcasses of old ships that, due to the strong winds and lack of landmarks, ran aground in the region. We then arrive in the friendly city of Swakopmund, where we will have the rest of the afternoon free to explore the city, its riviera, and its attractions such as the crystal museum.
6

Swakopmund

Tag 6-7
The city of Swakopmund offers several very diverse attractions, and here we will suggest some of which we participated and recommend. Riding Fat Bikes, bicycles with thick tires, through the desert dunes. We can choose between normal or electric bikes to enjoy the experience our way. Then we suggest you take a 4×4 car to one of the most photogenic spots in Namibia. It is here, in Sandwich Harbor, where the dunes of the Namib Desert meet the sea, creating an unforgettable view. Both tours will be carried out separately from the trip, but both will have special prices compared to separate purchases. We do this to give you the opportunity to experience these unique experiences at lower prices. If you don't want any of the options, you will have the day free in Swakopmund to enjoy its peaceful town and relax on its white sands.
7

Sesriem

Tag 7-8
After breakfast, we migrated towards the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world - more than 55 million years old. As we approached Sesriem, the gateway to the Namib-Naukluft National Park, we noticed that the sand, which had a white/light yellow tone, became reddish. On the way we will make a brief break in a city that got on the map because of its apple pie, which we have to admit is really delicious (Gui is very critical when it comes to apple pie). We will sleep inside the Park, which allows us to be the first to enter it the next day. After settling in and setting up our tents, we will watch the sunset from one of the Dunes near the camp, and if we are lucky, we will have the company of some Oryx with us.
8

Sossusvlei

Tag 8-9
We will leave before sunrise towards dune 45 inside the park to watch the sunrise from the top of the dune. Afterwards, we can go down and have a nice breakfast prepared by our team before heading inside the park. Today we will visit the famous Sossusvlei area and its photogenic Deadvlei trees. For the bravest, we will climb Big Daddy dune for one of the most incredible panoramic views of the park, and then run down one of the largest dunes in the world. We will return to the camp where we will have lunch and relax in the late afternoon by the pool. For those interested, we can visit the Sesriem gorge, next to the camp. A crevice in the middle of the plain that serves as shade during the hottest hours of the day for some animals in the region, such as baboons.
9

Aus

Tag 9-10
After breakfast we will have a long journey by car to the city of Aus, located in the south of the country, and known as an observation point for the Namibian horses, one of the few wild horses in the world, extremely adapted to this hostile environment. On the way we will have the chance to see the extraordinary Quiver Trees, ancient and unique trees in the region. We will sleep in Aus.
10

Luderitz

Tag 10-11
After breakfast, we will visit Kolmanskop. Inhabited at the beginning of the 20th century, the city arose due to the discovery of diamonds there. An entire city was built on the site. Hospitals, schools, Casinos, Bars and several houses where the local elite lived. During the First World War, attention was diverted to the conflict and diamonds ran out. However, it was only after the Second World War that the end of mining in the region was decreed. Consequently, the city was abandoned, and has since been swallowed by the desert. Without a doubt, it is a photogenic setting and beloved by lovers of abandoned buildings. From there we will head to the Fish River Canyon, the largest canyon in Africa and the second largest canyon in the world at 27 km long and 550 meters deep, second only to the Grand Canyon in Colorado, USA. We will sleep in a lodge in the region.
11

Fish River Canyon

Tag 11-12
After breakfast, we will depart towards the South African border. With good relations with our country, crossing the border will not require major bureaucracy or visas. That day we still sleep in Namibia, enjoying the Orange River delta, the largest river in South Africa, which originates in Lesotho and flows into the border with Namibia, providing a landscape of diversity, life and tranquility.
12

Citrusdal

Tag 12-13
After breakfast, we will have the option to participate in an adventure. We will go canoeing down the rapids of the Orange River. It's a safe trip where we can live this unforgettable adventure. Welcome to South Africa! We then head to the Namaqualand region, known for its unique rock formations and stunning landscapes. With natural pools of turquoise colors and untouchable nature makes this a magical place. We will sleep in Citrusdal, South Africa.
13

Cape Town

Tag 13-14
After breakfast, we will arrive in the wonderful Cape Town, which enchants anyone who visits it. We will settle into our hotel, where we will stay for 2 nights, and after lunch we will be able to visit one of the most beautiful panoramic landscapes in the world, the- Table Mountain. We will climb to the top of the plateau by cable car, but if the weather and temperatures allow, we can try to climb on foot. We will have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to enjoy the beautiful South African wines and the breeze from the South African coast
14

Franschhoek

Tag 14-15
After breakfast, we will leave for the city of Franschhoek, known as the main wine production center in South Africa, where we will participate in a wine tasting at the most award-winning wineries in the region. The wineries feature interactive spaces with diverse activities that go beyond wine tasting, and present us with one of the most beautiful settings in the region. We will once again have the late afternoon and evening free to enjoy this beautiful city and its world cuisine.
15

Cape Town

Tag 15
As all good things come to an end, this will be our last day and after breakfast the expedition will be over. I'm sure that many memories, laughs and friendships will last forever, making the VIVA family only grow. Our team will assist you with transportation to the airport or your next destination.
