➡️ Trip summary: Deepavali, also known as Diwali, is India’s most significant festival. It celebrates the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. People light clay lamps (diyas), engage in prayer, feasting, and fireworks, and spread joy during this cherished holiday. 🪔🌟 This planned trip starts with sightseeing, progresses into adventure, and evolves into spirituality. ➡️Why India 🇮🇳: The most diversified country, both culturally and geographically, in the world. In a span of few miles, language changes, cuisine changes, culture changes, festival changes, history changes, climate changes. What remains unchanged is the warmth and welcoming vibe of India🙏 The spiritual Guru!: A world of enlightened people, siddhas, bhaktas, renunciates, and yogis. A place for spiritual healing. One may have a life changing experience, who knows. There is no month without a festival in India. Affordable travel destination! Hurray! ➡️ Visa: Straightforward Indian e-visa service to apply online easily: Apply online --> Pay nominal eVisa fee --> Receive Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) via email --> Fly to India. So simple! (Print ETA and present at Immigration Checkpost where eVisa will be stamped on passport.) ➡️ What will we do? 1) Enjoy the deluxe facilities booked for accommodation. Swimming pool, gym, (where available). Wifi, and a very good breakfast included in most locations. 2) Enjoy the UNESCO world heritage sites all through the trip: Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Keoladeo National park, Khajuraho to name a few! Visit the astronomical observatories, forts, palaces, museums, wildlife sanctuaries, natural parks and more. 3) Night life: Enjoy the nightlife, disco, light & music show or other cultural dance programmes on offer. Socialize and make friends, have fun! 4) Activities: Safari, bird watching, boating, and other adventure sports. Diwali festival celebration! 5) Food: Go crazy in your food selection, North Indian, South Indian, Gujarati, Rajasthani, street food, Chinese, Punjabi, Bengali and continental dishes. 6) Shopping: Arts & crafts, malls, street-side shopping etc. 7) Explore: Panna national park, water falls, narrow streams, and walk around the ghats of Varanasi 8) Meditate, yoga, peace, spirituality: Connect with your inner self. Experience peace, meditate, yoga! Realise, I am one with the universe, and the universe is one with me! ➡️ Where will we stay? Deluxe shared rooms with cozy ambience for a relaxed experience. Real pictures included--subject to availability--or an equivalent arrangement. The intention is to connect with locals, learn about their place, and experience their culture, cuisine, and crafts; therefore, we shall lookout for residential stays with locals wherever possible. However, by informing early, a TripMate may choose to upgrade to a private room in the same facility by paying extra. (Subject to availability) ➡️ How will we get around? Cars with drivers, trains will be booked around most destinations. Taxis, auto rickshaws etc, can be used for local conveyance. ➡️ Who can join? Delhi

Tag 1-3
Day 1: We meet up and stay in Delhi--the capital of the world's largest democracy. The day begins with light ice-breaking sessions. 4 pm: Delhi Haat: A hub for shopping, dining, and cultural performances. 6 pm: India Gate is 10-minutes drive—a perfect photo spot. 8 pm: Explore South Delhi markets like Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar for street shopping, and South Ex for high-end brands. 10 pm: Dive into Delhi’s nightlife at Khan Market. Day 2: Start early to capture sun-lit photos near Rashtrapati Bhavan along Rajpath. Visit Old Delhi’s cultural gems: Jama Masjid, Purana Qila, and more. Explore Qutub Minar—World's tallest brick minaret-a UNESCO Site—and its complex, including the 4th-century Ashoka Pillar. 10 am: Return to the hotel for a very good breakfast. 12 Noon: Red Fort--Unesco world heritage site: 1PM Chandni Chowk (Lunch): the food havens of the capital. 2 pm: Visit the Jantar Mantar, one of the five astronomical observatories. In the evening, visit local malls, just chill with TripMates and have fun!

Agra

Tag 3-4
Day 3: After breakfast, we take a 4-hour fun drive to reach Agra! Taj Mahal--One of the 7 wonders of the world--A UNESCO Site (Friday closed): The Taj Mahal is known as a monument of love and a grieving emperor's ode to his beloved deceased queen. Agra fort--A UNESCO Site : 2.5 kilometers (1.6 mi) from the Taj Mahal. The fort can be described as a walled city. Enjoy the sites, local food, rest! Day 4: Keoladeo National park--A UNESCO site: "Early morning, we start for this vast bird sanctuary in Rajasthan. It’s a wintering ground for aquatic birds from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Siberia. The park boasts 364 bird species, including the rare Siberian crane.” Later in the day, we start for Khajuraho!

Khajuraho

Tag 4-6
Day 4: Evening, as we reach Khajuraho, we enjoy a good meal and rest at night! If time permits, attend the light & sound show at Khajuraho temple. Day 5: 6AM to 10 AM: Panna National Park Safari: Indulge in the jungle safari; experience the dense forest and encounter the wildest ranges of mammals, reptiles, birds, flora and fauna. 10 AM to 12 PM: Raneh Falls: The falls are situated just where the Panna National Park starts. How about bathing in this unknown paradise? I am In! 1PM to 5 PM: Khajuraho Temples: A UNESCO World Heritage Site. These ancient temples, built between 950 and 1050 AD, showcase intricate sculptures depicting spirituality, love, friendship, sports, and life. The complex boasts 22 temple structures that remain from the initial group of 85. These temples are categorised into three groups: Eastern, Western and Southern. After centuries of obscurity, they were rediscovered in the 1850s and restored. Evening: Board the train to Varanasi.

Varanasi

Tag 6-9
Day 6: Morning: Check-in at Varanasi -- The oldest inhabited spiriual capital of the world is located on the banks of holy-river Ganga famous for its soul-touching spirituality and Ganga Aarti. Author Mark Twain described the city as “older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend.” Sarnath, just 10 km away from Varanasi, is a revered Buddhist pilgrimage center; Chaukhandi Stupa, where Lord Buddha met his first five disciples; Dhamekh Stupa, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Ganga Aarti: A holy-fire ritual at Dashashwamedh ghat is a lively ceremony that takes place at dusk every day. Amid blowing of conch shells, ringing of bells, clanging of brass cymbals and chanting chorus of mantras, priests venerate the holy-river Ganga with brass lamps that rise several tiers. Day 7-8: Morning: Take a boat ride through the ghats to see people practicing yoga. Enjoy the sunrise, take yoga lessons. Meditate! Noon: Enjoy the rich culture, delicious food, and local markets. Consider buying a Benarasi sari as a souvenir, or for gifting. Evening: Ghat walk, Ganga aarti.

Ayodhya

Tag 9-11
Day 9: Morning: Take a 4-hour ride to Ayodhya--the birth place of Lord Ram who won over the demon-king Ravana, and his return home led to the first Deepawali celebration🪔. Day 10: Diwali--The festival of lights: Lighting diyas 🪔🪔🪔, delicious food, mouthwatering traditional desserts, fire crackers, lazer show and town tour. Grand celebration🎉.

Tag 11
Day 11: It is time to return back home with new vigour, purpose, gifts, sweets, and loads of good memories. Ayodhya has well-connected international airport and railroads. Do you have your returns planned from Delhi or elsewhere? ➡️ We met as TripMates, became friends on the way, and travelled as one family. Have a safe journey back home.
