Christmas Market on an Island

Munich, the capital of Bavaria is famous for many reasons: Oktoberfest, Beer, Pretzels, but also it's Christmas Markets! 🍻❄️🎄 This trip will take you to some of the best markets that Munich has to offer, including those at the Viktualien Markt, Sendlinger Tor and the Marienplatz. On top of this we will discover what Munich has to offer in terms of winter activities: ice skating, Feuerzangenbowle (a traditional red wine punch on top of which a giant sugar piece is dunked in rum and lit on fire), ice bathing in the Isar if you are interested & enjoying some hearty Bavarian food! 🥨🌭🇩🇪

A bit about me: I'm 21 and part German. I was born not far from Munich and have spent many winters there, enjoying the winter atmosphere and markets. I am a huge Christmas fan and love showing other people what Munich has to offer, so I am offering this trip :) I am looking for 2-4 TripMates who enjoy the Winter, good food and some culture and who don't mind walking around a big city for a bit! This trip is very laid-back, all very flexible, and I am open to everything!

Accommodation will be in a hotel, in shared rooms (2 people per room) with separate beds. Single room is possible for extra charge. Depending on the accommodation, breakfast can be included if you would like. I have made sure the hotel is close to restaurants, grocery stores etc. as well as public transport and the center. Munich

Tag 1-3

Our first day, we can all either meet at the airport or the hotel: depending on your preferences! After we have all settled in we can go for a tour around the city to see the center and some famous places such as: Sendlinger Tor, Marienplatz and Frauenkirche. After, we will go to some Christmas markets in the center to enjoy some shopping and good food! I will show you all the popular Bavarian dishes that are a must when in Munich. During the two days we will see most of the popular Christmas markets as well as the popular tourist sights, and we can enjoy some activities like ice skating.

Prien am Chiemsee

Tag 3

On the third day we will take the train, which takes 45 minutes to Prien am Chiemsee, a lakeside town. There we will see a traditional small town Christmas market. During this day trip, we will also take the ferry to the islands on the lake, where Kind Ludwig the Second built the famous "Little Versailles" and visit a Christmas Market on one of the islands, the Fraueninsel.

Tag 3-4

We will spend one more night in Munich. These days we will go see more markets and tourist attractions if you like, or we can also do some other activities that are very typical in Munich in winter. You are also welcome to take some time to yourself during this last day. Of course this all depends on everyone's time of departure.
