This 12-day adventure will take you through Japan's bustling cities, stunning natural landscapes, and rich cultural heritage during the peak of cherry blossom season. Starting in Tokyo, we will experience both the modern vibrance and the traditional beauty of Japan, before heading on a day trip to the Hakone or Fuji region to marvel at iconic views of Mount Fuji. From there, we'll travel to Kyoto to immerse ourselves in its ancient temples, shrines, and traditional districts. A day trip to Nara offers a close encounter with the city's famous deer and its historical landmarks. Finally, we wrap up in Osaka, where you’ll experience the dynamic food scene and vibrant nightlife. This journey combines the best of city exploration, cultural experiences, and nature's wonders.

Hi, I’m Irina, and I’m leading this incredible trip through Japan! I have a passion for exploring both modern cities and historical landmarks, and I’m especially excited to share the beauty of Japan’s cherry blossom season with you. My goal for this trip is to dive into Japan’s rich culture, enjoy its natural beauty, and create lasting memories with an amazing group of fellow travelers. I’m looking forward to great food, stunning sights, and immersive experiences that will leave us all with unforgettable moments!

In Tokyo and Kyoto, we will be staying in Airbnb apartments to provide a more local and comfortable experience. These accommodations will offer private rooms and shared living spaces, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. In Osaka, we’ll stay in a hotel for added convenience and comfort, located in the heart of the city to allow easy access to major attractions and nightlife.

Tokyo

Tag 1-2
Upon arriving in Tokyo, if all members arrive at the airport around the same time, I will meet you there to help with the transfer to our accommodation. Otherwise, we will meet directly at the accommodation in Shibuya or Shinjuku. Once everyone has settled in, we will take an evening stroll through Shibuya Crossing, visit the Hachiko Statue, and enjoy dinner together. It’s the perfect way to start soaking in the energy of Tokyo!

Sensoji temple

Tag 2
Begin your day at Tokyo’s oldest and most famous temple, Sensoji, located in the Asakusa district. Explore the surrounding Nakamise shopping street for traditional snacks and souvenirs. Then, stroll along the Sumida River, where you can see the Tokyo Skytree in the distance. This area blends the old and new aspects of the city, with beautiful temples alongside modern architecture.

Tokyo Skytree

Tag 2-3
Visit Tokyo Skytree, one of the tallest towers in the world, for panoramic views of the sprawling cityscape. Take your time exploring the Solamachi shopping complex located at the base of the tower, where you can find unique souvenirs, food, and entertainment. The view from the Skytree’s observation deck will give you an unmatched perspective of Tokyo's scale, including views of Mount Fuji on a clear day.

Meiji Jingu

Visit the serene Meiji Shrine, a peaceful spot in the middle of the city. The forested area surrounding the shrine offers a break from the urban buzz. Afterward, explore the vibrant and quirky Harajuku area, including Takeshita Street, known for its unique fashion boutiques, street food, and colorful youth culture. This stop highlights the contrast between traditional Japanese spirituality and modern pop culture.

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

Spend a relaxing afternoon at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, where you can enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms during the sakura season. The expansive park features traditional Japanese gardens, teahouses, and peaceful walking paths. In the evening, head to the Shinjuku district to experience its famous nightlife, with dinner options ranging from casual izakayas to high-end restaurants. Visit the iconic Golden Gai or Omoide Yokocho for a drink and a unique atmosphere.

Mount Fuji

For this day, we have the option of visiting either Mt. Fuji or Hakone, depending on group preference and weather conditions. Option 1: Mt. Fuji: Travel to the Fuji Five Lakes region. We will visit Lake Kawaguchiko, which offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji. A highlight of this trip is the Chureito Pagoda, where you can capture the iconic image of Mt. Fuji framed by cherry blossoms. Enjoy a peaceful day surrounded by nature, with opportunities for light hiking or relaxing by the lake. Option 2: Hakone: If you prefer, we can visit Hakone instead. You’ll experience a boat cruise on Lake Ashi, with beautiful views of Mt. Fuji in the distance. We’ll then ride the Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani, a volcanic valley with steaming vents and sulfur springs. There’s also the option to relax in an onsen (hot springs) in the afternoon before heading back to Tokyo.

Kyoto

Travel from Tokyo to Kyoto aboard the Shinkansen, Japan’s high-speed bullet train. Check into your accommodation and take a relaxing walk through Gion, the city’s historic geisha district. Gion is known for its traditional wooden teahouses and lantern-lit streets, offering a glimpse into old-world Japan. You might even catch a glimpse of geishas heading to appointments in the evening.

Fushimi Inari Taisha

Visit the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, known for its thousands of red torii gates that form a winding path up the mountain. The walk through these gates is an unforgettable experience, and the shrine itself is one of Kyoto's most important landmarks. On our last full night together, we’ll explore the nostalgic Shinsekai district, known for its retro charm and local street food. The area is full of small, cozy restaurants and vibrant energy. We’ll visit the iconic Tsutenkaku Tower to enjoy panoramic views of Osaka before heading to our farewell dinner. The farewell dinner will be a special occasion, where we can reflect on the incredible experiences we’ve shared during our trip. We’ll enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant, perhaps sampling some of Osaka’s famous dishes like kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) or okonomiyaki (savory pancakes). It’s the perfect way to wrap up our adventure in Japan before departing the following day.

Our final day in Japan marks the end of this unforgettable journey. After an amazing adventure together, we’ll say our sad goodbyes. Whether we’ve bonded over breathtaking sights, shared delicious meals, or simply enjoyed each other’s company, this trip has created memories that will last a lifetime. In the morning, we may have a little time to explore the Shinsaibashi shopping district or grab a last coffee before heading to Kansai International Airport (KIX). As we reflect on the moments that made this trip special—from the vibrant streets of Tokyo to the serenity of Kyoto’s temples and the neon lights of Osaka—our farewell will be bittersweet. Although it’s hard to say goodbye, we part with hearts full of gratitude for the experiences we’ve shared. Until we meet again on our next adventure!
