Imagine waking up to the gentle sound of waves lapping at your feet, surrounded by the vibrant hues of the Indian Ocean, the rich tapestry of coastal culture and not forgetting the lots of delicious coastal dishes. This is the adventure, I invite you to join a 7-day expedition from the historical heart of Mombasa to the idyllic shores of Diani Beach. A day before traveling, we meet in Nairobi, get to know each other, and go through the whole trip plans. On the next day we meet at the CBD then all proceed to the train station bound for Mombasa. The whole journey to Mombasa takes around 6 hours. From there we would then take a taxi to the Hostel we would be staying in. we would spend 2 nights here, before taking a ferry to Ukunda, the next day then Diani. This is the highlight of the whole trip.

About me! Hey, I'm Chellah,I am currently a university student, working towards my International Relations degree. One day I hope to start an NGO. I am an adrenaline junkie, always up for trying new and exciting things, whether going on a hike or rock climbing. Also, I am an avid backpacker, hitting the road with nothing more than the necessities gives me an unmatched sense of freedom. I'm always looking for new adventures to embark on and would love to find a travel buddies with the same lust for travel. I speak 4 languages and currently learning Arabic. I am a really outgoing person and sometimes a bit talkative. I am a lot into world politics and there is something about understanding the unique relationship that exists between various nations and cultures. I am a fun-loving and laid-back person always down for a night out (every day).

Details about the accommodation: This is a backpacking trip...meaning we will be staying in shared accommodation and a hostel in Diani since the goal of this trip is to make it affordable, If you would want a private room, that too could be arranged. Nairobi

Tag 1

This is a 1-week backpacking trip. It starts from Nairobi through Mombasa, and it ends in Diani. We will meet at the meeting point. Make sure you have everything needed for the trip. Go together to the train station and next we will take the train here to Mombasa, it's a six-hour journey going through the Tsavo National Park.

Mombasa

Tag 1-3

We will get picked up from the station to our accommodation. After a short rest, we go to a Swahili restaurant for dinner. We would then get ready for the next day's activities. The next day would be a busy day as the plan is to visit Old Town, Fort Jesus, Haller Park, Mamba Village, Pembe Za Ndovu and Kongowea Market.

Diani

Tag 3-7

After Mombasa, our next stop and the trip's highlight would be Diani. We'll cross the Likioni Ferry, then take a taxi to Diani. Diani is the sliver of paradise marking the border where the African continent meets the vast Indian Ocean. we'll spend 4 nights here. The plan is to visit and do the following; Tiwi Beach, to see the African Map, Kongo River and mosque, we would take a dhow ride to this place to watch the Sunset, Shimba Hills, Shimoni Caves, Wasini Island to watch dolphins, Ali Barbour cave restraurant, Visit the colobus conservation centre, and Snorkelling at Kisite Mpunguti marine park. After this, we'll have our last dinner, then take the train back to Nairobi.
