Autumn in Japan: Kimono Strolls, Mt. Fuji Majesty, Matcha Grinding, Making Food Samples, and Thrift Store Exploration

Our adventure kicks off in Tokyo on September 18th. We'll start by meeting up in the morning & exploring vibrant neighborhoods like Ginza and Shibuya. After strolling around, we'll have a delicious lunch in Asakusa. In the afternoon, we'll head to Tokyo Tower for stunning views and a picnic at Shiba Park. Later, we'll immerse ourselves in the magical Moon Festival at Mukojima-Hyakkaen Garden. For those interested in thrift shopping, we can visit Shimokitazawa on the second day, get ready for fun activities like making food samples at Kappabashi and experiencing the oldest theme park near Senso-Ji Shrine!

Our next destination is the coastal city of Kamakura! We'll start early to beat the crowds and head straight to the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and the iconic Big Buddha. After soaking in the cultural sights, we'll explore the local flavors at Komachi Street with its delectable street food. When it's time for lunch, we'll treat ourselves to Fukuya's delicious noodles. As the day winds down, we'll take a leisurely stroll along the beach.

Embarking on a day trip to Mt. Fuji is entirely feasible and thrilling! Our adventure will start in the early morning with a 2-hour bus ride to Shimoyoshida, where we'll capture the perfect Instagram-worthy shot with Mt. Fuji as our backdrop. Following that, a brief hike will lead us to the famous Chureito Pagoda, providing an incredible panoramic view of Mt. Fuji from its peak. Our journey will then take us to Oishi Park and Oshino Hakkai--a charming village where we'll immerse ourselves in the serene atmosphere and witness eight legendary ponds, each with crystalline waters sourced from the melting snow of Mt. Fuji. To conclude our remarkable day, we'll ride the ropeway and enjoy the sunset with the view of Mt. Fuji and the lake.

Our next destination is the Nara Deer Park, where we'll take a slow day, enjoying a relaxing stroll amidst the park's natural beauty! Our itinerary includes a visit to one of Japan's iconic temples, Todai-ji, which holds historical significance. Additionally, we'll have the opportunity to witness the process of making mochi, a traditional Japanese treat.

Our Kyoto exploration will encompass visits to several iconic shrines and temples, including the 📍Fushimi Inari Taisha, 📍Hokan-ji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda), and 📍Kiyomizu-dera Temple—a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning wooden stage that provides panoramic views of the city and hills. Our plan also includes a trip to 📍Arashiyama, where we'll rent kimonos and take a leisurely stroll, offering an authentic and immersive experience in the local culture. We'll also have the chance to partake in this unique activity, grinding matcha and savor the finest matcha you'll ever taste.!

Finally, Osaka! It's one of my favorite cities because it's not too busy, yet there are so many things you can do here. I'm going to list everything out so you can imagine how wonderful our trip to Osaka will be! 🏰 Osaka Castle and Namba Yasaka Jinja Shrine - Immerse ourselves in the history of the iconic castle and its lush gardens, followed by a leisurely stroll through the surrounding park. 🍣 Kuromon Ichiba Market - Delight in the flavors of fresh seafood, street eats, and local specialties at this vibrant market known for its affordable prices. 🌆 Dotonbori - Experience the vibrant pulse of Osaka through its bustling streets, dazzling neon lights, and a culinary adventure featuring must-try street foods like Takoyaki, Gyoza, Okonomiyaki, 10 yen pancake, and Taiyaki! 🏯 Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku Tower - Immerse ourselves in the unique blend of Western and Japanese influences in this charming district. At night, the iconic Tsutenkaku Tower illuminates the area. 🏙️ Umeda Sky Building - Take in breathtaking panoramic views of the city from the observation deck of this extraordinary skyscraper.
