About me: I am Windy, I already organized several trips on JoinMyTrip and this is my second time organizing a Winter Adventure in Lapland, I was lucky to have lots of fun with my tripmates on the previous trip, where we experienced ice fishing, dog sledding, play with reindeer, and spot the northern light! I am looking for adventurous and easygoing TripMates who love the wild, cold, rough, and untouched nature! Prepare your warmest clothes and let's have a winter adventure together ☃️

Accommodation: 1 night in Helsinki, 3-star Hotel in the city center: Shared room, private bathroom, 5 minutes walk from Helsinki Central Station. 2 nights in Kemi, 3-star Hotel in Kemi: Shared room, private bathroom, Sauna use, very close to the city center, 500 meters from Kemi Station. Kemi Church is a 5-minute walk away. 3 nights in Rovaniemi in a 3-bedroom VILLA: Shared room, fully furnished kitchen, WiFi, Private Sauna! 1 night Train to Helsinki: Night Train. Comfortable seats with adjustable backrests, tray tables, reading lights, power sockets, etc. Upgrading to a sleeper cabin is subject to availability and an extra fee. Rooms with single beds will be shared between tripmates (2 people in the room, girls with girls and boys with boys, unless coupled). Non Smoking accommodations. Day 1: Helsinki Arrival and City Tour Welcome to Finland! Our adventure begins in Helsinki, the vibrant capital. After meeting up in the accommodation and getting to know each other, we'll embark on a guided walking tour to discover the city's highlights. Learn about Finland's history and culture while exploring iconic landmarks. Let's make the most of our first day in this magical winter wonderland! Kemi

Day 2-4

Day 2: Journey to Kemi and Snow Castle Adventure After our breakfast in Helsinki, we'll hop on a train to Kemi, a charming Lapland city. We'll spend the next 2nights in a cozy hotel right in the heart of the city. Kemi is a winter wonderland, famous for its incredible snow castle and the iconic Icebreaker Sampo. With stunning sea views, it's a popular destination for visitors seeking unique experiences like staying in a snow hotel or embarking on a thrilling icebreaker cruise. One of the highlights of our stay will be exploring the world's largest snow castle. Imagine wandering through endless tunnels, admiring intricate ice sculptures, and standing in awe of the castle's towering walls. It's like stepping into a magical winter fairy tale!❄️🏰

Day 4

Day 3: Icebreaker Cruise and Arctic Adventure Experience once in a lifetime icebreaker cruise through the icy Arctic waters. You will never forget the thrill of sailing through frozen landscapes and feeling the arctic breeze on your face. Relax in the cozy Icebreaker Bar or venture outside to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Before returning to port, we'll make a special stop for an exhilarating ice-floating adventure. Suit up in a warm, waterproof floating suit and take a plunge into the icy waters. You can also walk on the ice and experience the Arctic's unique environment firsthand. 🛑This activity is optional and not included in the price, The price is €395/person. If you wish to join this activity you need to book it in advance because the spots are limited. I am planning to join this activity, so if you skip you can also do other activities in Kemi.

Rovaniemi

Day 4-7

Day 4 & 5: Rovaniemi Adventures, Northern Lights Spend magical days in Rovaniemi, a cozy city nestled in the heart of Lapland. We'll stay in a comfortable villa, with private sauna, providing the perfect base for exploring the region's winter wonders. Northern Lights Hunting: During these evenings, we'll venture into the wilderness to try and spot the elusive Aurora Borealis. Wrap up warm and let the enchanting dance of the Northern Lights mesmerize you. Reindeer Sleigh Ride (10-15 min): Experience the thrill of a traditional reindeer sleigh ride. Glide through the snowy landscapes and feel the magic of Lapland. You might even have the chance to obtain a Reindeer Driving License as a souvenir of your unforgettable adventure. Let's create lasting memories in this winter wonderland! For transport within Rovaniemi, we can either use public transport or rent a car and split the cost, it will be a lot cheaper than taking a taxi wherever we go and I can drive.

Santa Claus Village

Day 7

Day 6: Santa Claus Village Adventure: Visit the magical Santa Claus Village, located right on the Arctic Circle. Meet Santa himself, take a group picture with Santa, and explore the enchanting village with its festive atmosphere. Don't forget to visit the Santa Claus Post Office and send a postcard from the Arctic Circle! Rovaniemi is often referred to as the "Official Hometown of Santa Claus."

Day 7-8

Day 7 & 8: Rovaniemi Free Time and Farewell Enjoy 1 day of free time to explore Rovaniemi at your own pace. Consider adding some of these optional activities to your itinerary: Snowmobile Adventure: Go on a thrilling snowmobile tour through the Lapland wilderness. Frozen Waterfall Hike: Discover hidden frozen waterfalls and enjoy the stunning winter scenery. Nordic Skiing: Glide through the snowy forests on cross-country skis. On your last day, we'll take a comfortable night train back to Helsinki. Arrive in Helsinki the following morning, say goodbye to Finland, and board your flight or train home.
