Get ready for an incredible journey filled with discovery, connection, and unforgettable experiences in Taiwan! day 4 Our primary mode of transportation will be by train, offering convenience and efficiency as we navigate the vibrant landscapes of Taiwan. To make the most of our weekends, when work is off the table, I highly recommend embarking on a day trip to explore the wonders beyond Taipei. Among the myriad options available, two standout destinations are Shifen and Yehliu Geopark. Shifen boasts the title of hosting the widest waterfall in Taiwan, nestled within its charming village setting. Meanwhile, Yehliu Geopark beckons with its vast expanse of geological wonders, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Taiwan's north coast. Whether we choose to marvel at the cascading waters of Shifen or immerse ourselves in the geological marvels of Yehliu Geopark, our day trips promise to be filled with awe-inspiring sights and unforgettable experiences. let's head over to Yongkang Street, renowned for its bustling food scene. As we leisurely stroll down this charming street, we'll indulge our taste buds with an array of local delicacies. From savory beef noodles to succulent pork buns, and refreshing bubble tea, there's something to tantalize every palate at the diverse eateries and street vendors lining the bustling thoroughfare. Get ready for a culinary journey through Taipei's flavors!

Day 6
Taipei Day Trip to Jiufen and Shifen Morning: Take a train or bus to Jiufen (around $5 round trip). Wander through the charming streets of Jiufen Old Street, sampling local snacks like taro balls and sweet potato tea. Afternoon: Travel to Shifen to visit the famous Shifen Waterfall and participate in a sky lantern release (approx. $5-10 for the lantern). Return to Jiufen for more exploring, then head back to Taipei by late afternoon. Evening: Relax at Shilin Night Market, Taiwan's largest and most popular night market. Enjoy a variety of local dishes for dinner (budget: $10-15).

Visit the Xuanguang Temple or take a walk or bike ride along the Lakeside Trail (bike rental costs around NT$100-150 or USD 3-5 per hour). 1:30 PM: Have lunch at one of the local eateries near Sun Moon Lake (budget: around NT$150-200 or USD 5-7). Afternoon: 2:30 PM: Continue exploring Sun Moon Lake. Visit the Ci’en Pagoda or explore the Wenwu Temple. 4:00 PM: Begin the journey back to Taichung HSR Station. Take a bus from Sun Moon Lake to Taichung (around 1.5 hours). 5:30 PM: Arrive at Taichung HSR Station. Evening: 6:00 PM: Catch the HSR from Taichung back to Taipei (around 1 hour). 7:00 PM: Arrive at Taipei Main Station. 7:30 PM: Enjoy a dinner at a night market, such as Ningxia Night Market or Raohe Night Market (budget: around NT$150-200 or USD 5-7).

Upon arrival in Taichung, take a local bus or taxi to the Rainbow Village (15-20 minutes, bus fare: NT$25 or less than USD 1).
