Have you always wanted to travel to South Africa and experience an adventure? Then you've come to the right place! I am Susanne, 58 years old and have organized many trips to Southern Africa with my partner Wolfgang. We have been traveling especially in South Africa, Nambia and Botswana since 1985 and we are very much looking forward to discovering South Africa and especially the wildlife there together with you. This dream trip starts in George and ends in Johannesburg, both at the airports. The international flight and the regional flight from Cape Town to Cape Town are not included. Many exciting activities await us: Urban Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, wine regions, southernmost point of Africa, travel focus: wine and nature, Oudtshoorn, beautiful wine tours and tastings, Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, whale and dolphin watching (boat and land), metropolis Johannesburg and much more! Our accommodation is all in the 3-4 star range, mostly centrally located, depending on availability. For 23 days of travel in South Africa, 22 overnight stays are planned, each with breakfast (1 x half board). Already included for you: - Fuel costs - highway toll - All entrance fees to the national parks according to the program - Transfer from and to the airport - Unique large exclusive excursion package "Full program", see Trip Stops (further information and scope on request) - German-speaking support on site, making the trip particularly suitable for guests who speak little or no English. The excursions may vary as they are weather-dependent. For example, in the event of rain, not all paths are not all paths are passable for safety reasons. We will decide on the feasibility on site. Postponements or changes to the itinerary may vary depending on vacancies. may differ. We look forward to seeing you!

I have organized many trips to southern Africa. I have been traveling in South Africa, Nambia and Botswana in particular since 1985. The Kruger National Park always impresses me the most. I founded my company more than 10 years ago. Since then I have been offering tours to southern Africa as a tour operator. Be it as a self-driver in a rental car or on a small group tour organized by us - we always find the right thing. We are very well networked in the regions and have known all our partners personally for many years. Individuality and "wish fulfillment" in all price ranges are our maxim - after all, it's your dream vacation. Our small group tours are supervised either by me or by Wolfgang (member of the Association of Study Tour Guides).

According to the itinerary, we mainly chose hotels in the 3 and 4 star range. A few nights in upscale guesthouses: usually 4 stars, local rating. In all accommodations we booked including breakfast, once with half board. The accommodation is close to the city center. We will stay in Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Mosselbaii, Overberg region, Hermanus, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Johannesburg (Rosebank)

Oudtshoorn

Day 1-2
Travel description study trip 5/2025 Flight recommendation: Arrival via Johannesburg to George. In October, South Africa is 1 hour ahead of European summer time. If you choose other flights, please make sure that you are at the meeting point on time at around 15:00. Customs and immigration formalities are carried out in Johannesburg (Cape Town). If you do not book the flights on one ticket, you should allow 1.5 hours for entry. We will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall of the airport at around 15:00. We drive over a beautiful pass road through the largest hop-growing region in Africa to the ostrich metropolis of Oudtshoorn. We have selected a beautiful guesthouse there. Spend the rest of the day there by the pool. You can have dinner in various restaurants within walking distance. The next day we set off for what is currently the largest cave system in the world: the Cango Caves. There we will take part in a guided heritage tour into the caves.
2

Knysna

Day 2-5
Ahead of us are 3 nights in Knysna, the pearl of the Garden Route. Planned activities: Oyster tour, marine boat tour to the Knysna Heads, day trip to Tzitziskamma with hike to the suspension bridges, power van tour in George
3

Mossel Bay

Day 5-6
On February 3, 1488, the Portuguese navigator Bartolomeu Diaz was the first European to land in this bay. We will visit the replica of the caravel with which Diaz sailed around the Cape of Good Hope in the Maritime Museum. There is also the largest shell exhibition in Africa, the botanical garden, the tombs and much more to see. Don't forget to post your mail at the longest "Post Office" in South Africa in the sailor's boot (since 1963). It is provided with a special postmark. Sometimes you can also get this stamp at the office. In the evening we have planned a short ghost walk through the legendary village.

Overberg District Municipality

Day 6-8
Early in the morning, we set off on our journey along the Garden Route to the Overberg region. There we have chosen a small country hotel with half board. The next day we explore the De Hoop Nature Reserve early. On a combined tour (half by car, half on foot), we pay a visit to the last Cape vulture colony. The walk takes about 1 hour. We will provide you with a packed lunch to carry yourself. Depending on the tide situation, the afternoon is dedicated to the fauna and flora along the coastline. We walk along the coastline with our guide. He shows us the special little things along the way. Alternatively, if the tide does not permit a hike, we will go on a nature excursion by safari vehicle. Did you know that de Hoop is one of the best places in the world for land-based whale watching? In the afternoon we drive to the coast of Arniston. The rest of the day is at leisure
