Spring Road Trip in Western Norway: Fjords, Hiking, and Cozy Cabins Adventure 🏔️🇳🇴

DAY 1 We will start our journey in Bergen, Norway’s second largest city, where we will meet at our hotel in the city in the evening. From there, we’ll head out for dinner together, get to know each other, and go over the plans for the following week. DAY 2 We’ll start the day with a nice breakfast together, go for a morning stroll, and head to a cafe before getting on the road for our next stop: Aurland.

DAY 2 CONT. On the breath-taking drive to Aurland, we’ll stop on the way to check out the epic Rjoandefossen waterfall and have lunch in the cute village at Aurlandsvangen (and maybe take a dip in the fjord)! Then we’ll proceed to drive the scenic drive up the mountain to the Stegastein viewpoint. After we arrive at our Airbnb we’ll settle in and prepare a shared dinner, and enjoy the evening with games and snacks. DAY 3 After enjoying breakfast together at our beautiful Airbnb, we’ll drive to Gudvangen to meet our guide for our one-day kayaking tour of the Nærøyfjord. Here is a description from the agency we’ll be touring with, “We paddle into the very heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Park in our kayaks and leave all roads behind us as we take you to the special places only accessible by kayaks and small boats…We paddle past small local farms, waterfalls, green forest clad mountains.” The tour includes a BBQ meal and refreshments! After a day of kayaking we’ll head back to the Airbnb for a shared dinner and relax for the rest of the evening. DAY 4 We’ll start with breakfast together at our Airbnb again. We’ll pack lunch and snacks to bring to eat at the top of Mt. Prest, a moderate yet stunning hike. After descending the mountain we’ll head to our private booked sauna, located right on the fjord. There we’ll enjoy the Norwegian tradition of sweating in saunas and plunging in the cold fjord. Afterwards, we’ll head out for dinner together in town, and relax at the Airbnb for the rest of the evening. DAY 5 After eating breakfast together at the Airbnb, we’ll check-out and head back on the road to our next stunning destination: Stryn.

DAY 5 CONT. We’ll stop for Norwegian waffles along the scenic route, and explore the surrounding area. We’ll settle into our Airbnb and then head out into town for lunch. Then we’ll hike to Segesta which is an easy short hike. We’ll stop for groceries on the way back at prepare dinner at our Airbnb. DAY 6 Today we'll be doing on epic guided Via Ferrata climb in Loen! After breakfast in the village, we'll meet with our guide and begin our climb. At the top of the mountain, we'll eat dinner at the beautiful restaurant at the peak and eventually take the Skylift down. DAY 7 After eating breakfast at the airbnb and checking out, we'll head to our final destination: Ålesund!

DAY 7 CONT. Once we get to Ålesund, we'll hike up to the centrally located mountain peak Aksla to get a stunning view of the city. We'll take a walk through the town, stop at a cafe, and enjoy a last lunch together before heading our seperate ways after a life-changing trip together!
