This is a scuba diving trip to a small island in the Madeira (Portugal) archipelago! Hello! My name is Rahel and I live in Portugal and love to see the beautiful landscape above and under water! Porto Santo island is a great place for scuba diving, with many beautiful wracks, usually great visibility, and diverse marine life. There is not much more to do in the place, so I am planning on diving almost every day. Depending on the group size, people could also split up for other activities, such as hiking, horse riding or just relaxing on the beach! What i included in the price: - Accommodation - A package of 10 dives with an air tank and weights. Flights are individual, but I'm happy to help. Flights from Lisbon can be as cheap as 72€, excluding luggage. Food, taxi from/to the airport and rental equipment, and any other expenses are not included. This is the maximum price, depending on how many people sign up it could be as low as 560€. The pictures included are from both possible houses. We'll be living in an Airbnb. Depending on how many people want to join, it will either have 4 or 8 sleeping spots, in shared rooms and some shared king beds. I am hoping to find an enthusiastic diver group who likes a non-luxurious, but exciting adventure trip! I would also like to mention that this will be an inclusive trip where people of all backgrounds, genders, and sexual orientations are welcome. As an intersectional feminist, I am hoping to find a caring and open-minded group that supports one another. Scuba diving is such an amazing sport for everyone and it would be great if we could learn from and encourage each other. Due to the dive sites often requiring deep diving, only people with a minimum of advanced certification can join. We'll explore many wrecks, though not going in, so no specialty is required. The weather is usually really nice and warm, but the Atlantic Ocean is chilly, so a thick 7mm suit, boots/socks, and a hat are necessary. We'll be diving with Rhea Dive, who offer a free shuttle from our accommodation to the port (10mins). All dives are boat dives accompanied by an instructor. Personally, I am an SSI Dive Guide with experience in diving in warm, great visibility places like Egypt as well as in the dark, silky, tide-driven waters of the Netherlands. Right now, I regularly dive from the mainland of Portugal. If you have a certification but it's been a while, we can certainly make that work! I'm also a biologist and love conscious diving, where the environment is disturbed as little as possible. I travel a lot and have organized trips to lesser-known places like Tunisia and Cameroon, too. This will be my first one on JoinMyTrip, but I have privately organized group trips, as well as for sports clubs. I'm sure we'll have a great time! The dives will be in the morning at around 8:00, and the return will be around 13:00. After that, we can cook delicious meals for ourselves, enjoy the house's terrace and lay in the sun, take walks along the coastline, or chill on the beach. This is supposed to be a fun trip where everyone has a say in what to do and I am hoping to have built great friendships by the end of it! I hope everything is clear if not you have the Q&A section and I will come back to you as soon as possible, else we can have a call once you secure your spot on my trip!
