The Sporades are so green! Lets explore together! We will sail from island to island and bay to bay onboard my yacht that has just completed a sail around the world and is equipped with many nice toys like a SUP and a watermaker that makes life on the sea comfortable and chill. We will do a good mix of swimming around the boat in anchorages, visiting 1-2 island towns and explore there, visiting beach bars and tavernas and maybe take a scooter to drive around an island. We will pool about 200 Euros per person at the start of the trip for the "crew kitty" to get food and drinks for the week and for marina fees and for re-fueling the boat at the end of the trip.

I am a 37-year-old German journalist who quit his job to sail around the world. I have also worked as a yacht skipper as a side job for 10+ years. I have also a masters degree in Political Science and Sociology. I am easygoing and uncomplicated as a person.

My boat has 4 double cabins. You share your cabin usually with another crew member of the same sex unless you want it differently. We also have 2 mattresses to sleep on deck and 2 hammocks. We have two bathrooms. In the middle of the boat is the salon with kitchen and big table with sofa area to hang out, cook and eat. Any questions about the trip? You can let me know in the Q&A section!

Trip Itinerary
1

Salamis Island

Day 1-2
We start our trip in Salamina, the island just west of Athens. It can be reached easily from Piraeus/Athens via a 1 hour ferry ride across the harbor of Athens that in itself is an experience. Salamina is well sheltered making for an easy start on an island that is very Greek-dominated where not many foreign tourists come. But first we must do some food-shopping with the crew on day 1 to prepare for the week.
2

Sounion

Day 2-3
After a sail across the busy Gulf of Athens crossing paths with the busy cargo shipping lanes coming into Athens, we stop on the most southern point of the Attica Peninsula at Souinion at the famous temple. We will visit just before sunset when the day-trippers from Athens are leaving and to enjoy the awesome view over the anchorage.
3

Skyros

Day 3-4
We start with some sunrise sailing because its a magical thing to do but also because we have a longer distance to cover to reach Skyros: an isolated gem very much off the beaten path. Skyros has some nice sandy beaches, a rare thing in Greece and it has an impressive mountain town perched high up on the rocky hills - and roaming ponies, according to legend its wild horses stem from antique times.
4

Alonnisos

Day 4-5
Alonissos is very sparsely populated and famous for its tranquil nature. We will enjoy solitude in one of its many enchanting green bays, swim around the boat, chill on the beach - maybe hike up to the mountain village or spend some time doing sweet nothing - dolce far niente.
5

Koukounaries Beach

Day 5-6
Koukounaris Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and certainly the place to be on Skiathos island: Fine sand, crystal clear water, calm waters. A perfect place to do nothing but chill - maybe visit the local beach bar to sip some
6

Skopelos

Day 6-7
Green bays with nice beaches, some elegant old houses and a very chill vibe: Skopelos lies at the heart of the Sporades islands. Because everything is nearby, we do not have to sail so much the last two to three days of the trip and can make chilling on board or exploring on land more a priority.
7

Skiathos

Day 7-8
At the end of our trip, we arrive at the island capital of Skiathos island. A perfect place to get a dosis of civilization and city-life after several days in the wild in remote bays. In the evening we will explore the old town and its bars - to celebrate our trip, like sailors did traditionally when in port ;-) Skiathos also has lots of ferries to leave the area after the last night onboard or take a flight to Athens.
