Trip Itinerary

Cusco
Day 1-3
Cusco is a beautiful blend of old and new. Cobblestone streets are lined with souvenirs, restaurants, cafes, and cacao stores. The dining options are sure to wow even the most acclaimed foodie; not only is the food delicious and creative, but the views are hard to top. We'll spend time with a local after school program to learn of their needs, mission and typical life here in Cusco. They will show us the challenges of bridging cultural and generational gaps, giving us deeper understanding of the culture we'll be submersing into for the next few days.
2
Sacred Valley
Day 3-4
The Sacred Valley holds unmistakable beauty and serenity. The best way to step into this sacred land is to experience the culture of the people who have called it home for centuries. Explore the Chinchero Ruins and textile center, learn how to make uchucuta taught by the Misminay community. After a full day of exploring, relax around the bonfire with a chef-inspired Peruvian dinner. Nestle into your ‘teepee’ for a cozy night sleep. Make it a goal to wake up to catch a breathtaking sunrise against the Andes mountains; you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your bed! The wooden ‘teepees’ have floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing an unobstructed view. Kick in the adrenaline for an ATV tour cutting through the mountains, visiting two famous locations – Maras and Moray. One is an incredible arrangement of centuries-old salt mines carved into the side of a mountain. Moray is an ancient Incan ruin used for farming. The day ends with a guided tour to Ollantaytambo and settling into the hotel.
3
Machu Picchu
Day 4-5
The ancient trail of the Incas is one of the greatest wonders of the world, and today, you will experience it firsthand. After taking the train to the entrance at Km 104 of the Inca Trail, hike about 4 hours to the archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna. It could easily be argued this location is more beautiful, peaceful, and transcendent than Machu Picchu itself. Rest, eat, and soak in the mystical feeling of being deep in the Andes with nothing except lush green forest and jungle as far as the eye can see. Reward yourself with a delicious dinner in Aguas Calientes. Our final day here is spent exploring the captivating Machu Picchu. A private guided tour ensures a fully immersed experience into the history and culture of the Incas. The guided tour lasts about 3 hours before making the return to Cusco. Overnight near the town square, bustling with nightlife. Spend the night exploring the vibrant city or resting and relaxing.

Cusco
Day 5-7
For our final day as a group, we’ll get to experience the incredible majesty of the Valley Rojo (Red Valley) and Rainbow Mountain. The snow capped mountains, grazing animals and locals make for a beautiful scene. If you don’t feel like making the hike, hire a local to lead you up on horseback! Pit stops along the way include hot tea, soup, and snacks. The view at the top is one that can’t be put into words. The Red Valley spans for miles, with the surreal Rainbow Mountain right in front of you. Back in Cusco for dinner, we’ll enjoy a local hot spot for our final night together.
