We will sail from island to island and bay to bay onboard my yacht that has just completed a sail around the world and is equipped with many nice toys like a SUP and a watermaker that makes life on the sea comfortable and chill. We will do a good mix of swimming around the boat in anchorages, visiting 1-2 island towns and explore there, visiting beach bars and Tavernas and maybe take a scooter to drive around an island. We will pool about 200 Euros per person at the start of the trip for the "crew kitty" to get food and drinks for the week and for marina fees and for re-fueling the boat at the end of the trip.

About Me! I am a 37-year-old German journalist who quit his job to sail around the world. I have also worked as a yacht skipper as a side job for 10+ years. I have also a masters degree in Political Science and Sociology. I am easygoing and uncomplicated as a person.

The boat has 4 double cabins. You share your cabin usually with another crew member of the same sex unless you want it differently. We also have 2 mattresses to sleep on deck and 2 hammocks. We have two bathrooms. In the middle of the boat is the salon with kitchen and big table with sofa area to hang out, cook and eat. Any questions about the trip? You can let me know in the Q&A section!

Trip Itinerary
1

Poros

Day 1-2
We start our trip in the elegant island town of Poros with its long winding promenade full of sailboats and chic Cafes and Tavernas. Poros can be reached easily from Piraeus/Athens via a 1 hour ferry ride across the Saronic gulf that in itself is an experience. Poros is also strategically well-situated to reach the island-world of the Cyclades. But first we must do some food-shopping with the crew on day 1 to prepare for the week.
2

Fokianos Beach

Day 2-4
A large bay with a long beach, surrounded by high green mountain ranges: Thats Fokianos. Other than some saillors not many people come here as there is no town nearby. So we have a lot of space to lounge on the beach, snorkel in the small bay connected to the big one, or hike up the hill to enjoy the majestic view over the bay. In the evening, we will eat in the Taverna with the many cats - with a view to our yacht at anchor. Maybe night-swimming later?
3

Monemvasia

Day 4-5
Situated on a small and steep island, Monemvasia village is a gem to stroll through, its old stone houses and cobblestone-streets. The more sporty ones might hike to the top of the rock, the others in our crew will just enjoy a Greek coffee and the views. From the small pier where we dock the view in the evening towards the rock with the old village perched on it is not to bad either. Maybe drinks on the harbor wall next to the boat after dinner?
4

Símos

Day 5-6
Simos beach on Elafonisos island is not only one of the rare fine-sand beaches in Greece, it is also a sailors heaven, providing two c-shaped well-protected bays to anchor in. The turquoise water and the sand-dune-sand is why you go here - just bask in the warm sand while looking at the boat. There is a beach-bar too if we want ice-coffee or fancy some drinks.
5

Cape Tainaron Lighthouse

Day 6-7
On our way along the southern Pelloponese we will stop in one of the bays next to Cape Tainaron. Besides being totally in remote wilderness with only a few other sailors, surrounded by vast rock-scapes falling into the sea, you come here to walk up to the Cape Tainaron Lighthouse - in old times this was the southern end of Greece.
6

Kalamata

Day 7-8
Arriving via bus from Athens or via the regional airport of Kalamata, you might want to spend a day or two here to explore this region that is famous for olive growing. We will explore the town of Kalamata a bit in the evening, but first we need to go food-shopping with the whole crew at a local supermarket to provision the boat for the week and according to our taste. In the afternoon, we will get an introduction to the yacht and a safety briefing before ending the day in a taverna.
