Naples is on a beautiful south coast of Italy. It is nearby the volcano Mt. Vesuvius with picturesque views all around. But how about getting a bird's eye view from above?
That's right When we are not exploring Naples, shopping, and eating, we will be flying with the birds, as we go paragliding with an experienced pilot.
Hi everyone! My name is Jai. When I was using the showaround application, I discovered that I like showing people the places that I love, and also sharing experiences with likeminded people-especially first time experiences. I began my travels in 1994 on a 2 week school trip to Spain, Italy, France, and Switzerland. Then as an adult, I have took vacations to both the UK and Germany when my not so gracious American holiday schedule allowed. I am now living my dream living overseas-short spurt in the Czech Republic and England, 5 years in Tbilisi, Georgia, and now in Belgrade, Serbia.
We will be in Naples for a total of seven days. A lot of the time we can decide on the spot as a team what to do and where to go within Naples. But the highlights of this adventure will be paragliding, kayaking in the gulf, and a pizza making class with a master chef. We will even get our very own pizza making diploma after we complete the class and, of course, eat our creation.
Speaking of eating pizza creations, we will visit a restaurant, Le Figle di Iorio, known for its fried pizza!
Unfortunately the best wineries are only accessible by car. But if we decide to rent a car, or if a trip mate has a car, we can always split the cost of fuel in order to take an afternoon trip to a winery on one of the days.
The accommodation will be in apartment with a possibility of shared rooms. Transportation will be by train and ferry between Naples, Sorrento, and the island of Capri. But we will have a private shuttle to the site of the paragliding takeoff.
Included:
-Accomodation
-Breakfast
-pizza making class
-Airport shuttle
-Paragliding
-Kayaking Gulf Tour
-4 ferry rides
Not Included:
-Flights
-Transportation Not Specified Above
-Food not specified above (we will try to split restaurants family style for most variety and split total bill with Splitwise. Alternatively, picnics are an option too so we can eat fresh food from locals)
-Pasta Factory (I am waiting for details)

This was a special trip, as Jai took over for another tripleader, last minute.
Considering that, the trip was a perfect mix between adventure and relaxation/meeting other people. Exactly what I needed.
It was only the two of us during the trip, and I got plenty of opportunities to experience the island life as I wanted. Jai usually stayed with me to talk and to discover many things, but I did get my fair share of freedom to hop on a bike and explore to my heart's content. I thank her for all the precious memories and long talks in the evening about our other trips, and life in general. It really never got boring. Jai is a very interesting person with many things to share. I can recommend travelling with her. She can teach anyone a thing or two about living and travelling in special countries (Geogrgia, Serbia, Pakistan, ...)

What can one expect from a tripleader? I think that one can expect from the tripleader to book accommodations, to have some ideas about the places we will be visiting and to organize some activities. There was almost nothing of that during this trip as Jay relied entirely on my ideas and on my organization. So I almost became the actual tripleader (another reason for that is that Jay has a significant visual disability). Jays only organizational contribution was to book accomodations, where we shared rooms. So I got nowhere near the value of what I had paid.
Then Jay simply quit the tour after four days for no real reason. I think that Jay should not be a tripleader. After this experience I cannot recommend her and I hope to resolve this issue soon.

This is our home base where we will rent an apartment. We will first meet at the airport (or taxi app if that is allowed from the airport) to our flat. Depending on the time of day, we will get lunch or dinner. Since it is the first day, it will be most relaxing be it going to the beach, walking around places like the historic district or Spanish district or museums.
Following days will have pizza making class, various restaurants featuring must try foods in Naples and wine drinking.

Have you ever wondered how all those boxes of pasta are made? Here's your chance to learn from the Gragnano Museum and Factory, which has several generations of a family-run pasta business on display. There is a chance that we will get to see the factory in operation, but it depends on the minimum size group they accept.

When we are not doing a kayaking tour through the Gulf, we will be walking around this coastal city with views of both Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Great for photos. And bring that drone if you've got it!
