Coworking trip
Hi beautiful people 🌊 If you're looking for a road less-traveled in Mexico, on the shores of the all year round warm beaches Caribbean, with a guaranteed party for New Years Eve and, if that wasn't enough, relaxing in a hidden gem of the Riviera Maya and scuba diving paradise with more than 13 dive sites right off shore. Then this trip was made for you! 🐳 I am looking for a diverse, cool group of 9 people, to join! Hopefully we can learn from each other and have a beautiful time together enjoying the best of what mexican beaches can offer. It doesn't matter if you're looking for a relaxing vacation, scuba diving trip or to work remotely. I would love it if there's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where we can build our own diverse travel community. Allowing people to work remotely, relax, scuba dive, kayak, create or do whatever activities you’d like during the day and on the afternoons and weekends be able to explore together some of the amazing natural areas and the fantastic seafood, enjoy the sunsets at the beach, maybe have some cool BBQs with the best of the local food, visit Ancient Mayan Ruins and whatever fun activity we want to add. ABOUT ME My name is Karla, I am 27 years old. I am originally from Mexico City and I've been based in Berlin for the past 3 years, so what better way to escape the German winter than to bring you to my beautiful home of magical Mexico. I am a visual artist currently studying my Masters in Sexology. I love books, scuba diving, exploring nature, and chasing sunsets. I'm definitely a foodie, so do expect to eat the best food in the Yucatan Peninsula. I have traveled around the world and I've managed to generate beautiful connections with people, with wildly different backgrounds and stories, from all walks of life. It is these people and connections that make any trip memorable, that's why I would love to share my expertise with you! ABOUT THE TRIP 🦀 We will be staying in a very special lodge at Xcalak beach with three bungalows, and an independent house with, kitchen, dining room, bar area and a terrace. All this is directly at the seafront in Xcalak, an spectacular natural reserve that has nothing to do with the tourist areas of Tulum and Cancun. We would be sleeping in spacious shared rooms with queen beds and singles as options (3 independent bungalows, each with its own bathroom). What is the most exciting for this trip is New Years Eve at the beach with our own FIESTA!! So do expect a celebration, a youthful atmosphere but also, nature reserves, untouched beaches, mangroves, lagoons, natural reserves, archeological ruins, really all the best Riviera Maya has to offer. You'll find me scuba diving!!! 🐙, Scuba diving in the Xcalak-Mahahual area is en extraordinary experience with one of the largest coral atoll in Mexico with 15 dive sites just offshore, where it is possible to admire beautiful corals and vast types of fish just 20 minutes from the coast in front of Mahahual and Xcalak. It is truly one of the best places I have dived in, its always warm and there's many places to explore, like sunken ships and an the amazing Xcalak National Reef Park. And since we are going during the winter months, we might see aquatic life usually found in deeper water, such as sharks and dolphins. In my experience it offers a very fair price for scuba diving tours, and we can get a better group price. So if you were looking for the opportunity to get certified this might be your chance! WHAT'S INCLUDED The trip costs 💸 include an amazing accommodation with our own beachfront, with three independent bungalows facing the ocean, each one with a private bathroom. The property has a huge palm tree roof area, with Mexican breakfast included for 20 days. And a spacious kitchen that, given the rules of the property, a cook will be provided to prepare us delicious local food, so we can make shared groceries and have lunch and dinner at an affordable price. There's also kayaks that we can make use of for free and the possibility to rent the pick up truck from the owner to go around, for an extra price. It also includes a 27 EUR fee for the planning and organizing of this journey. I will also be there all the way and you can count on me with any questions, translation or help needed. HOW TO GET THERE? The easiest way to get there is through Chetumal Airport, there are direct flight from Mexico City, Guadalajara, Merida and Miami from there we can get a transportation to our lodge, each car would be around 40 USD, and hopefully we can split it. You can also get here from Tulum taking a bus to Mahahual. We are looking for 9 like-minded, fun people 💻 to JOIN OUR TRIP. If you have any questions I will be happy to hear from you! I am very excited to share the best of my beautiful country with you 💗

Trip Itinerary
1

Xcalak

Day 1-3
The warm Caribbean breeze, the ever-present, soothing crash of the waves breaking on the barrier reef. The sunrise of soft pinks, Mars-like reds, and intense oranges. Long walks, without ever passing another soul. Are some of the few things that make this destination magical and perfect for a new beginning year. This will be our base for our stay and it is one of the very few areas in Mexico that still has untouched beaches. I picked this place because of it's many possible activities for any kind of mood, it is perfect for fly fishing the saltwater flats, snorkeling the coral reefs (just steps from our door), simply eating too much food and napping in the shade of a palm, diving ior kyaking.
2

Bacalar Lagoon

Day 3-5
Bacalar, also known as the seven color lagoon is one of my favorite places in Mexico, this unique turquoise lakes in Quintana Roo are the perfect detour that promises to take your breathe away with its shades of blue and healing sands.
3

Blue Cenote

Day 5-7
The Mayan considered cenotes to be an entrance to their "underworld" or "Xibalba" where their gods live and their spirits reside. Don't miss the opportunity to soak in this magical piece of unique natural beauty located just a few kilometers away from our bungalows.
4

Chacchoben

Day 7-9
Located in Costa Maya and just an hour away from Mahahual. This space was once reserved for ceremonies and ritual, now ours to discover. We will experience the world of the ancient Mayans and understand, a little bit better, their vision of their universe while enlivening your senses with the sounds of nature.
5

Punta Herrero

Day 9-11
Punta Herrero is really the "end of the road" for the Costa Maya, it's a small fishing village that harvests primarily lobster in the Bahia de Espiritu Santo. Punta Herrero is situated on a tiny sandspit between a beautiful lagoon and the ocean. Mangroves keep it from washing away. It is beautiful and worth visiting, this will be the first time here for me too.
6

Reserva de la Biósfera Sian Ka'an

Day 11-13
Sian Ka'an which means the door to paradise in mayan, isa sublime area of natural beauty, home to thousands of species of flora and fauna; and possibly one of the most astonishing parts of the Yucatan peninsula, it is located 3,5 hours north of Xcalak. It is possible to rent a car or hire a tour to take us there, depending of how many of us would join.
7

Playa Mahahual

Day 13-15
Mahahual beach, where you can slow down, relax, and connect with beautiful nature. With its clear waters and and infinite palm trees, this is the ultimate escape for an after work afternoon. It's also the place where I've had the most amazing tuna tostadas, you can find many bars, small restaurants by the beach and the best affordable beach massages that you could find.
8

Maya Chan Beach

Day 15-17
We will find a tropical atmosphere, calm and clear waters, and a plethora of things to do. Relax in beach bars nestled in thick palms, sipping cocktails and enjoying good food, or hire a kayak and explore the ocean. Get your snorkeling gear on and try to spot rays and sea turtles, or just settle down on the sand with a good book.
9

Parque Nacional Arrecifes de Xcalak

Day 17-19
The Xcalak National Reef Park is a protected marine region, covering 40km of seaside off the southern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Inside the park there's different areas designated for different activities, like Fly-fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving are the standard, and less-obvious include kayaking, kite-boarding, and stand-up paddle boarding.
10

La Aguada

Day 19-21
We van get to this fisherman town by kayak or boat we will be able to visit this unexplored island located west of Xcalak, this amazing mangrove area is the perfect natural paradise to explore and connect with nature.
