Day 1-2
SAINTE-LUCE AT NIGHTTIME : A WELCOME DRINK AT THE BEGINNING OF OUR JOURNEY Our first meeting together as TripMates will be an opportunity to get to know each other and have a nice chat, be briefed and documented about the journey, the itinerary and the immersive plan... It will also be our first encounter as a group with the place where we will be staying : Sainte-Luce is a very lively town at nighttime, particularly on the weekends and holidays

Day 2-3
SAINTE-LUCE IN THE DAYLIGHT There were snouts and testicles ... to be enjoyed as a snack ... according to an ancient recipe in the neighboring town of Sainte-Luce" Sainte-Luce is located in the Deep South of Martinique, along the "Beach Route", as the locals say. And it is a fact that Sainte-Luce hosts many beautiful beaches, most of them stretching along a 6-mile fitness trail, much appreciated by adults and kids since you can swim, jog, or walk along ๐๏ธ Sainte-Luce hosts some remotest places, such as the mysterious "Devil's hole" ; the town center is picturesque, and the restaurants have a solid reputation Lunch is included ๐ด in a local restaurant Trois-Riviรจre estate, an old prosperous dwelling once specializing in sugar-producing. Today the estate dedicates its 700 hectares of sugar cane to the production of a rum with excellent taste qualities ๐น Montravail Forest is located at the heights and covers some 70 hectares, with a network of trails stretching out, enabling you to discover the flora and fauna of a tropical forest ๐ณ

Riviรจre-Pilote
Day 3-4
RIVIERE-PILOTE, A REBEL IN THE SOUTH "The stage was built, and the instruments were installed : chacha, ti-bwa, and drums." Riviere-Pilote once was a stronghold of the Amerindian people and has always been a rebellious town, up to the present day. This is noticeable as you stroll along the streets and marvel at some peculiar landmarks such as "Rocher Zombi" ๐ถ๐ถโโ๏ธ In ancient days a fierce revolt ravaged the South of the island, and Riviรจre-Pilote ignited it. The town hosts a famous distillery that you can visit with a tourist train ๐ Anse Figuier Beach is much appreciated by visitors and locals, while the picturesque fishing village stretches on the other side of the hill ๐โโ๏ธ Lunch is included ๐ดin a local restaurant

Le Vauclin
Day 4-5
WHERE THE TRADE WINDS BLOW "Two hours after Bayard was transferred to the Hospital of Saint-Esprit we received confirmation of his death." (Novel reference : page 117) Saint-Esprit was once a major administrative center for the South. It was home to the Justice of the Peace and the Tax Office. The town experienced a major economic boom, spurred on by the central factories of the neighboring towns. This earlier propensity is still visible in the architectural style ๐ถ๐ Martinique's South-Eastern coastline offers a different type of landscape : the Trade Winds, blowing from the Atlantic, shape an untamed landscape, as can be seen in the town of Le Vauclin ๐

Day 5-6
AN EXUBERANT ECOSYSTEM " the furtive and numerous gazes of representatives of the nation of thrushes : big-billed-thrushes, cat thrushes, spectacled thrushes, white-tailed-thrushes, fine and ordinary thrushes who abused of the gifts of a century-old plum tree" Located on the Diamant peninsula, the town Trois-รlets is the birthplace of Josephine, wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of France ๐ The village of La Poterie is home to one of France's oldest brick factories ๐ฐ It is a place worth strolling about, as many craftsmen ply their art and trade there ๐ถ๐ถ Before taking a chance to explore the mangrove ecosystem ๐ฃโโ๏ธ home to a diversity of marine and terrestrial species ๐ฆ ๐ฆwe will visit the "Mangrove Museum" ๐ซ in the Coastal Forest

Fort-de-France
Day 6-7
SHOPPING AND A COOL RIVER BATH "At first, it was a current that ran deeper than normal, an unusual swirl on the surface of the water, that caught his attention. A circle, in the middle of which a beak appeared" No journey in Martinique would be complete without a visit and some shopping ๐๏ธ in Fort-de-France, the capital town๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ถโโ๏ธFounded in 1635, conquered by the English, definitely settled by the French, it is a contrasted town fostering historical monuments ๐ฐ a shopping area ๐ฌ and two cruise terminals ๐ณ๏ธ In the afternoon we will take a refreshing bath ๐โโ๏ธ in a cool river in the heart of the tropical forest ๐ณ
