Day 1-2
The adventure begins at "El Puente," our point of entry to the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, marking our departure from civilization at 11:00. Progressing in a motorized canoe downstream for approximately 2 hours leads us to the Nicky Amazon Lodge. Along this journey, a stroke of luck may grant us sightings of the initial monkey and bird species. The Cuyabeno River narrows significantly in this stretch, offering an intimate encounter with wildlife. Upon reaching the lodge, a welcome cocktail awaits. Subsequently, you'll have time to relax and embark on your first exploration of the surrounding area. Post-dinner, your bilingual guide will brief you on the upcoming activities for the following days.

Day 2-3
In the early morning, we embark on an exploration of the area, seeking out monkeys and birds amidst the vibrant tropical rainforest. After this immersive experience, we return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Following some relaxation time, we set out on a guided walk through the rainforest, during which our knowledgeable guide shares insights into the diverse life forms coexisting in nature's delicate balance. Along the way, we may encounter vibrant butterflies, frogs, and a symphony of bird calls, gaining a deeper understanding of the rich flora. Lunch is served upon our return to the lodge, providing a brief interlude to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings—whether it's a refreshing swim, a game of soccer, or a leisurely nap. In the afternoon, our adventure continues with a paddle canoe trip down the Cuyabeno River, winding through the dense jungle landscape. Along the riverbanks, we observe a myriad of wildlife, including monkeys, macaws, toucans, and sloths. A highlight is the opportunity to witness the enchanting pink river dolphins in the impressive river setting. As evening falls, we embark on a fascinating exploration of the lodge's surroundings, searching for nocturnal creatures such as insects, spiders, snakes, and frogs. The nocturnal world comes to life, offering a unique perspective on the jungle's diverse inhabitants.

Day 3-4
Following breakfast, we engage in a captivating activity as we visit the Indigenous Siona community, gaining insights into their daily life in the Amazon Basin. A special demonstration awaits, offering a hands-on experience in crafting 'Cassave,' the typical manioc bread of the region. Our exploration extends to learning about the local customs and traditions that shape their past and present culture. After this enriching experience, we return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, our journey continues as we embark on a motorized canoe expedition upstream to reach the enchanting Laguna Grande. Navigating the lagoon, we delve into the intricacies of the 'Igapó,' an ecosystem characterized by the flooded forest dominated by majestic macrolobium trees. These trees provide a habitat for epiphytes and various bird species, including cormorants. As we explore the lagoon, a refreshing swim in its calm waters is complemented by witnessing the spectacular sunset over the Amazon region. The adventure persists into the evening as we immerse ourselves in observing the nocturnal fauna of the river landscape. Encounter species of bats and search for caimans as we traverse the waters before returning to the lodge. The day concludes with a delightful dinner, capping off a day filled with cultural immersion and natural wonders.

Day 4-5
In the morning, an additional excursion awaits, with the choice between a canoe journey or a hiking adventure contingent on weather conditions and the group's interests. Following breakfast, we embark on an exploration of a pristine stretch of the jungle. Our knowledgeable guide shares insights into the medicinal uses of the flora, drawing on centuries-old practices of native cultures and their ability to thrive in the jungle. A return to the lodge for lunch provides a well-deserved break. In the afternoon, our journey continues as we paddle by canoe along the Cuyabeno River. This activity offers an opportunity to soak in the exceptional scenery, listen to the symphony of jungle sounds, and seek out exotic local species. It's a truly remarkable experience that connects us even deeper with the wonders of the Amazon rainforest.

Day 5
At morning there's time for an optional morning expedition that involves a brief canoe trip, leveraging the early hours to observe wildlife engaged in their morning activities. It serves as a farewell to the jungle, leaving indelible images of this spectacular place in our minds. Following breakfast at 07:30 at the lodge, you'll have ample time to pack your luggage in preparation for the return journey, commencing at 08:00. A box lunch is provided for the trip, and the upstream ride guides you back to civilization, arriving at 'El Puente de Cuyabeno' at 10:30.
