Trip Itinerary
1
Amman
Day 1-2
This day is reserved for your arrival in Jordan. The meeting with me, who will lead the trip, takes place at the hotel and that's where the adventure begins. It will be two weeks of discovery traveling the country from end to end. For those who arrive early, you can now walk the streets of the historic center in search of delicacies. For those who arrive later, the rest of your day is check-in and some well-deserved rest.
2
Jerash
Day 2-3
The morning wakes you up, perhaps, with the call to prayer from some mosque, in this unsightly capital of the country, surrounded by 7 hills, just like Lisbon, and with a historical past that hides right in the center of the city. Today, however, the day is not dedicated to the capital. The citadel you see up there will remain for tomorrow. The day is dedicated to the north. Located just 50 kilometers north of Amman is a city with over 2,000 years of history: Jerash. A Greco-Roman city visited by Jesus during his tour of the north of the region, recorded in the New Testament as the region of Decapolis (10 cities, in Greek). Jerash is today a modern city, although built east of the ruins that are a true landmark in the history of humanity and that escaped the mass destruction so common in this area of the planet. The historic site is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage Site and this is where we will spend part of our day. From Hadrian's arch to the amphitheater that houses more than 3000 people, passing through the temple of Artemis or the hippodrome, these are some of the best preserved ruins you will be able to visit. After lunch, we will head further north, to Aljoun, with a well-deserved visit to its 12th century castle, which you can look down on from above! In the late afternoon, return to the capital, amid chaotic traffic.

Amman
Day 3-4
This morning we dedicate it to Amman, a place that is anything but beautiful. One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, a city made up of small neighborhoods filled with small grocery stores and cafes. It is in its center that we discover the ancient Roman theater and, up there, in the old citadel, several temples and a view of an amphitheater too, over the immense rolling wave that is the country's capital. The day will be spent among the small alleys and historical monuments, with breaks for local delicacies, which mix tradition and modernity, and breaks to just sit on the balcony of a café and enjoy the rhythm of the city. In the late afternoon we left for Madaba, where we spent the night for the next two days.
4
Madaba
Day 4-5
In the morning we will discover the archaeological sites of Madaba, born in a biblical site known as Medba (where its current name came from). The city is located on the Via Regia, a road built 5,000 years ago, at almost 730 meters altitude, and is world famous for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, especially for what is known as the Madaba Map, the map of the Holy Land. This mosaic covers part of the floor of the São Jorge church. However, scattered throughout the city there are hundreds of other mosaics, in churches or residential homes. After lunch, the road descends to the Dead Sea, 430 meters below sea level. It is a place with unique characteristics, not only because of the landscape in front of it, but also because it is one of the only places in the world where you can float without any problems, such is the amount of salt in this immense inland sea, which prevents any life from emerging inside. of its waters. After this unique experience, which will hopefully give us a memorable sunset, we return to Madaba and look for a place to have dinner.
5
Kerak Castle
Day 5-6
We left very early for our next destination, because today is the day of two hundred kilometers along one of the most mythical roads in the world: the Kings Way. The first stop is the ruins of Um-al-Risas, home to the largest mosaic in Jordan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Soon after, we headed to Wadi Mujib, to one of the most brutal landscapes of the trip, on the way to Karak, one of the castles built by the Crusaders and the largest in Jordan. Military architecture, which developed throughout the various empires, impresses us. From markets to watchtowers, cathedrals to mosques, there is no end to the castle. We have lunch in Karak and our journey continues south to the Dana Biosphere Reserve, the largest protected area in all of Jordan, comprising a total of 308 square kilometers, home to more than 800 species of plants and almost 500 species of animals, some of them endangered.
6
Dana Reserve
Day 6-7
Peace and silence reign over this piece of land and make it a unique place, with a great diversity of landscapes: from highland forests to rocky slopes, passing through gravel plains and sand dunes, which go from the top of the Valley from the Jordanian Rift to the bottom of the desert plains of Wadi Araba. The day is up to you and there are dozens of small walks you can take, workshops you can visit, go in search of the sound of the shepherds' flutes with their flocks or simply save your day to do nothing. Whatever you choose, you can't miss the sunset, the breathtaking landscape. Silence is synonymous with Dana.
7
Wadi Musa
Day 7-8
On this second day, and after the explanation given by our local guide during the first meeting with Petra, you will have the entire day on your own. The path that takes us to one of the main monuments, the Treasury, is in itself more than enough to justify a visit. But behind the Treasury, a series of other buildings rise, some carved into the region's sandy rocks, others built among the mountains, like Roman temples. In the midst of monasteries, temples and tombs (there are more than 800), the vision of the end of the world, at the edge of the Nabataean capital. It will be a whole day spent in this wonder of humanity and everyone can discover it. there as you please: accompanied by me or alone, walking as you please, stopping for tea, a chat with the Bedouins or for some shopping. A visit to Petra is the journey of a lifetime and this is your day. In the late afternoon, we returned to Wadi Musa. After dinner, you can still see Petra at night (extra option) or just stay around the city, having a coffee.
8
Wadi Musa
Day 8-9
We leave the small village of Dana behind and make our way to one of the 7 wonders of the world: Petra. On this first day, after passing through roads that wind up the mountain, making a stop at Shobak Castle and having a comforting lunch, we head to Wadi Musa, the city that serves as the base for the Unesco world heritage monument. After lunch, it's time to enter the immensity of the capital of the Nabataeans. This afternoon will only be reserved, however, for the entrance and gorge towards the Treasury with important explanations from our guide, as the following day will be spent entirely within the complex. In the late afternoon, if you still have legs, we can wander through the small village 3 kilometers next door, where the Bedouins who formerly inhabited the historic site live.
9
Wadi Rum Village
Day 9-10
We left almost at dawn towards the desert, towards the immensity that is Wadi Rum. This is where we will spend our next night, getting to know a little more about the local culture and being dazzled by the sands and rocky mountains, the reddish and white sands of the desert! It will be a full day exploring the region, discovering the most famous places in Wadi Rum, hiking, climbing rocky peaks and slowly allowing ourselves to be immersed in the silence that only this desert can make us hear. At the end of the day, dinner is eaten around the campfire. May I suggest a little evening walk, if you still have the legs for it? Deserved rest arrives.
10
Amman
Day 10-11
After a good night's rest, we returned to the capital of São Paulo. There will be long kilometers on the road, which will take us an entire day. However, we will do it along the path that follows the Dead Sea, which will be, from the middle of the journey, always on our left. It will be a return to the capital between the brown of the mountains and the blue of the salt waters. We will arrive late in the afternoon, in time for dinner.
11
Wadi Ghuweir
Day 11-12
Over these two days, we challenge you to explore the most natural facet of Jordan, territory of canyons and Wadis (which in the native language means the valley of a river. In some cases, it can also refer to a wet riverbed, which contains water only when heavy rain occurs). The first one we will explore is Wadi Ghuweir, considered by many to be the best hike in the country, with an easy to moderate technical level. This gorge takes us through arid and dry areas, but also areas where the water is knee-high, creating an oasis of plants, hanging palm trees and streams. There are around 6 hours of trail, with stops to admire the view and prepare lunch, along almost 14 km, which you will want to record in a photograph for posterity. It's hard to describe how special this place is! A geological formation built by the force of water over millennia, which almost transports us to the Jurassic era. Our entire day will be spent here, in the company of our local trekking guide, who will cook for us along the way and before returning to Madaba, he will also make us some hot tea to warm up our bodies. Upon arrival, time for a shower and we went out for dinner.
12
Wadi Mujib
Day 12-13
After breakfast, and with our batteries recharged, we continued towards the second Wadi of our length. This time, it involves even more water, we will venture into canyoning in Wadi Mujib, which flows into the Dead Sea, and belongs to the lowest natural reserve in the world, with a spectacular variety of landscapes. Available only during the dry season, the objective is to walk through the gorge, over the course of around 3 hours, responding to the challenges that the water imposes on us, with ropes and suitable footwear to climb the rock, until we reach the top of a spectacular waterfall. 20 meters high. It is true that we will return soaked, but I have no doubt that we will return happy with the journey. After lunch, which will be eaten outside, it's time for a special surprise. Let's learn how to cook some Middle Eastern delicacies in a gastronomy workshop. And the idea is, through learning, to have fun while supporting a social project for female emancipation and preparing what will be dinner for our last night in Jordan.

Amman
Day 13
Depending on the time of your return flight, a transfer will take you to the airport, where you will return home, and where you will arrive during the day. All I can do is give you a hug and say goodbye to you, thanking you for all your trust. Jordan is absolutely incredible and I hope that at the end of this experience you share the same opinion. It was a pleasure to welcome you. See you soon!
