Castellabate

Day 8

Day1 suggestions visit to the medieval village of Castellabate a UNESCO heritage site with stunning views across the step back in time exploring the narrow alleyways, historic buildings, Basilica church in an unspoilt beautiful setting. The castle can be visited and collection of Greek amforas and finds from the sunken vessels along the local shores

Museo Archeologico di Paestum

Day 8

Suggested trip to nearby Greek Temples a 20 minute drive away and museum discover the fascinating history and archaelogical findings. Time for a stop for lunch with typical products mozzarella local soft cheeses prosciutto homemade pasta dishes fusilli ravioli as well as and other local homemade dishes depending on what s on the menu plus great desserts and yoghurts made from Buffalo milk

Port of San Marco di Castellabate

Day 8

Drive to port 10 minutes then Coffee and cornetto and then morning hike from Port of san marco along to punta licosa this is a relatively easy hike mainly on flat which follows a dirt track along the coast and after villas opens up to wine groves and a small secluded rocky bay Approx hiking time 1 hour then stop for swim if weather and conditions permit and hour hike back

Santa Maria di Castellabate

Day 8

Weather permitting we can spend a morning or afternoon at one of the sandy beaches known for their clean seas awarded the Blue Flag walking and or swimming with possibility of lunch at one of the beach lidos Boat excursions along the coast

Vatolla

Day 8

An excursion to a hidden village in the inland of the stopping at Perdifumo to walk around tge small village and the wash station an important point in past country life where local women would gather for the weekly laundry giving a true insight into village life. Onto Vatolla a small Cilento village with historic Vargas palazzo the stone houses and alleyways take you to times goneby and you really feel time has stood still

Throughout your stay we ll be able to taste a variety of dishes in local restaurants from pizzas to pastas to fish dishes all in family run restaurants and trattorias.
