With so many different dishes to try, and so many cathedrals and sights to see, it's hard to decide just where to go. I fell in love with Tuscany on my trip through Italy back in 2014 and want to see more of the Tuscan area, including Cinque de Terre. The beautiful sea, the amazing architecture - there's so much to do! My name is Louise, and I am a 58-year young grandma who wants to see as much of the world as I can while I still can! I am ready to revisit Italy! Let me take you on a Tuscan journey of food, wine, and beautiful sights to see. We will take day trips to La Spezia, Pisa, and Siena. We will indulge in a DIY food tour the best kind of tour! And we will enjoy free walking tours as well. Hi I'm Louise and am excited to be heading back to Italy! I am an almost 60 year old woman who is looking for slower paced travel without missing all that i want to see. I spent 3 weeks back in 2014 on a bus tour, very fast-paced, traveling through Italy. Fell in love with all parts and want to explore more.

We will stay at full sevice apartments in Rome and Florence, close to the tourist areas so that we can walk everywhere or take the metro. We will be staying close to restaurants and shops. The accommodation will have separate rooms as well as some shared rooms. Full kitchen, dining area as well as comfortable areas to relax.

Day 1-2
We will all meet at the apartment on arrival in Rome. Once we are all settled in, let's get ourselves out and enjoy our first afternoon/evening in Rome! Shall we head to the Spanish Steps? Or perhaps Trevi Fountain? The evening is ours let's have a great first night getting to know each other!

Day 2-3
Morning – let's get up, eat and head out to our free walking tour - stopping for an espresso on our way. What better way to start our Italian adventure! Tips are welcome at the end of the walking tour at your discretion! After the walking tour, we will have a quick bite to eat before our Coloseum tour begins. Picture yourself a gladiator in ancient times as we discover the history of the Coloseum. Tonight, let's enjoy dinner at the apartment and prepare for our DIY food tour tomorrow! We can share our experiences from the day! And what we would like to discover on our journey through Tuscany.

Day 3-4
This morning we will have a leisurely morning, before heading out to some local markets and street vendors for our DIY food tour. We will head down into the city centre and discover the hidden streets of delicious food that awaits us. Gelato anyone? We can't have a food tour without trying some authentic gelato! Tonight, we will pack up and get ready to head to our next destination - Florence and the heart of the Tuscan region!

Florence

Day 4-5
Ready to head to Tuscany? We will hop on a train and head to Florence, in the heart of Tuscany! Our first day there, we will take to the streets and wander to the Ponte Vecchio ("Old Bridge"). The Ponte Vecchio is a medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental arch bridge over the Arno River. Let's head to a local market and pick up some food, find a spot along the river and people watch. A must see is the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. You will have some free time this afternoon - are you into art? Uffizi Gallery is the most famous art museum in Florence - if you want to go, be sure to book a time before the trip as it sells out quickly! We will make our way back to our accommodations and decide on where we'd like to have dinner.

Province of Pisa

Day 5-6
Today will be our first of two day trips from Florence, We will be heading to the Tuscan region for a self-guided day trip to Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano. We will be doing this whole day by bus/train. We will head out early and start in Pisa. We will spend about an hour, more if needed. We will see the cathedral, the baptistery, the monumental cemetery, and the famous Leaning Tower. Next, we will head to one of the most beautiful medieval villages of San Gimignano, or the "Medieval Manhattan", where you can explore the maze of cobbled streets, small squares, and many local craft stores. We will spend a couple of hours here, and enjoy the amazing village. We will have lunch together here. This afternoon, let's continue on with a panoramic view of the Chianti countryside before arriving in Siena. We will have some free time to enjoy a cup of coffee or a panforte (a typical local cake), and to go shopping. We will return to Florence after an unforgettable day spent in Tuscany.

Florence

Day 6-7
This morning, we will head out for a free walking tour of Florence. We will learn the history of the city and explore the different areas. After the walking tour, let's all wander around and head back to some of our favourite areas from the tour. We will stop in a cafe, enjoy some delicious desserts and of course Italian coffee! If you'd like to head out and wander on your own, or even head back to the apartment, you are free to do so. Let's head out for a drink tonight and enjoy the exciting city of Florence in the evening. Tonight we will go for dinner at one of the best restaurants in Florence, make sure you're hungry!

Province of La Spezia

Day 7-8
Our 2nd day trip is to La Spezia! We will head out early this morning and take the train to the beautiful area of Cinque Terre. La Spezia is on the coastline and is part of the Cinque Terre area of Italy. The views are phenomenal and there are many historical sights to see, including the Waterfront, the Naval Technical Museum, the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta and San Giorgio Castle. We will have the entire day here, let's all enjoy the waterfront and the Basilica together and then have the afternoon to wander the streets either as a group or on your own. Your choice! La Spezia is famous for its mussels, so let's head for dinner here before heading back on the train to Florence.

Florence

Day 8-9
Our last full day in Florence, let's enjoy a free day. You can head out on your own or we can head out as a group. We could go and do some souvenir shopping. Perhaps we can head to a market, get some meat, cheese and a baguette or two and have a picnic? Let's make the most of our last full day in the beautiful Tuscan area. Tonight, let's make reservations and go out for a special dinner.

Day 9-10
This morning, we will pack up and head back to Rome for our final few nights. Today is a free day! Once we get settled in to our place, head out and enjoy your time in Rome! Tonight we will have reservations at a local restaurant, I Buoni Amici, for an amazing dinner! This restaurant is highly recommended and will surely be a highlight of our trip.

Rome

Day 10-11
It's our last full day. Let's have breakfast together and go to the Vatican and wander through St. Peter's Square. We could line up and visit the cathedral if you wish - booking ahead may be required. Shall we head to the city centre and wander the streets? It's our final night - let's enjoy dinner in, share memories with each other and then head out for an evening walk and one last glass of amazing Italian wine.

Rome

Day 11
Our final day - time to say good bye to new friends! We can have a coffee and some lovely Italian pastry before we all head out to our various homes. Thanks for the amazing time new friends! Ciao bellas!
