Hi, guys :) this time around we are going to visit one of the most renowned cities in the world… my hometown, MILAN!
Get ready for a 2-week Coworking trip full of fun and adventures! After work, and during the weekends, we will discover the city together, while visiting the main attractions (like taking a walk on the top of the Dome), eating at the best restaurants (Pizza, pasta and so much more 👨🏻🍳), taking part in a private tour among legends and mysteries, chilling at the best Aperitivo spots (you haven’t visit Milan yet if you’ve never had a couple of Spritz in a row 🍹), shopping in the capital of Fashion and… you name it!
But first… it’s-a me, Giulia! I'm the typical Italian girl, raised on Margherita Pizza 🍕 and weird hands gestures!
I love meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. Whether you are looking for a new friend, a new mum or a new mascotte, I can be the one for you 😬!
While in Milan, we will be able to:
—> Visit the most famous attractions, like Piazza del Duomo, Galleria, Castello Sforzesco, Gae Aulenti, Teatro alla Scala, Navigli, Arco della Pace, Cimitero Monumentale, Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, Brera etc.
—> Eat the best food in the best restaurants, such as savoring Milan's oldest Panzerotto at Luini's or composing your own pasta dish at MiScusi's, or eating the typical dishes of northern Italy at Stelvio's (we will discuss together the type of food you would like to taste in order to choose the restaurants best suited for the whole group!), and taste the real Italian Espresso ☕!
—> Take a private tour organised by a local: we will walk through the City’s most important points of interest, learning to see them from a new perspective… we will talk about legends, mysteries 👻 and all that lurks behind their immense beauty!
—> If the group is willing to, it will also be possible to visit Milan's hottest nightlife venues 🌃 (es: trendy spots as Corso Como & Corso Sempione or location like Ceresio 7, Gattopardo, Alcatraz, Globe etc.).
—> Shop in the best Italian stores, while strolling through the trendiest shopping streets.
Where will we be staying? 🏠
Despite Milan's sky-high prices, our luxury apartment is located close to all the main attractions of the city (in between 15 and a maximum of 30 minutes by public transports // 10 or 20 minutes by car), however, away from urban traffic, to provide quiet during working hours.
We will be able to stay in a gorgeous attic, with a stunning view of the whole city. The place grants: 2 bathrooms, 1 huge living room, a breathtaking terrace, a chill-out nook, a cute kitchen and free Wi-Fi (arrangement on 2 floors). The beds are respectively divided like this: two bedrooms with 1 double bed each + one bedroom with 2 single beds. That’s why the perfect Mate for this Trip wouldn’t mind sharing the room with others and loves being surrounded by people. 😉
It will be possible to acquire a private bedroom - 1 out of the 2 double bed bedrooms - with a little extra charge. As for the 2 TripMates who will have to share the other double bed, a little discount will be provided 😊.
Some activities that await us! 🤩
We are also going to enjoy a couple of trips within the trip itself! As a matter of fact, during our second weekend together, we’ll also escape the city twice, in order to visit Genova & Como.
Leaving early on Saturday morning, we are gonna take a 2 hours drive through northern Italy (and its amazing panoramas) to reach the closest coast to Milan: Genova (Genoa)! Here we are going to explore the harbor city 🚢 and its gems, such the gorgeous Piazza de Ferrari, St. Lorenzo Cathedral, Porto Antico and Caruggi (“peculiar and narrow covered walkways and shady alleys of lots of cities and little towns of the Italian Riviera”). The day trip will end at a fantastic pizzeria in Genoa (best Pizza & Focaccia in the whole city), where a local and dear friend of mine works. After dinner, we will leisurely return to Milan.
On Sunday, based on the time of return of the day before, we may leave for Como in the morning, in order to enjoy a stunning and really easy hike (mostly flat) 🚶🏼♀️🚶🏻, while strolling along the shores of the lake, following one of the most famous trails in the area: the Greenway. In the afternoon, instead, we will move to the city center, where we will be able to visit the Cathedral and take the funicular to Brunate, which will offer breathtaking views of the entire area.
As for the transportation: 🚙
It will be split between the subway 🚇 (for example, when visiting the busiest and central areas) and the car 🚗… in fact, I’ll be your private driver (no worries guys, I’ve spent the last 11 years driving around the city and I’m pretty used to the traffic here)! And that’s why this trip is only available for 4/5 tripmates at most (me included).
The trip costs include 💰:
- Accommodation
- Private Tour with a Local: “Milan: between Mystery & Legend”
- Duomo Pass (Visit to the Cathedral and Terraces)
- Bagatti Valsecchi Museum (A few steps from Via Montenapoleone, in the heart of Milan, we can visit this magnificent house/museum, which belonged to a Lombard Renaissance family. Audio guide included).
- Car transportation (both in Milan, Genova & Como)
- First dinner in Milan (Italian Mum’s food will be provided 🍝 to welcome you in Italy!)
- Apartment cleaning service (once, after the first week… remind: it’s important, anyway, to keep the apartment liveable and tidy as a form of respect toward the other TripMates ☺️)
- Simple Breakfast: I’ll provide basic ingredients like cereals, Nutella, Biscotti (cookies), Tea & Bread… you will be of course free to bring or buy your own food (milk will not be included, but you will be able to buy it at the closest supermarket)
- Free Wi-Fi (only in Milan apartment… I still recommend you buying a Tourist SIM online, so that you can be connected wherever you prefer, whenever you feel like it)
- Travel Insurance (unluckily, for now, provided only for travelers from Germany and Austria)
What is not included 💸:
- Flights (Nevertheless, prices to Milan from major European cities are currently very affordable, between 50 and 200 euros. They can be a little more expensive coming outside Europe)
- Subway Transportation (you can consider 17€ per week more or less)
- Lunches & Dinners (depending on the day, we may cook at home after buying groceries at a nearby market, or try different restaurants)
- Drinks, cocktails and apéritifs
- Other activities not mentioned in “The trip costs include”
- Travel Insurance (except travelers from Germany and Austria)
Despite the many options offered, there will still be a lot of flexibility, especially during weekdays. Excluding the activities booked in advance (such as, for example, the visit to the Milan Dome), it will in fact be possible to decide together which activities, or not, to experience. In addition, depending on the chosen one, if someone will not feel like participating or would like to skip it, it will be absolutely possible.
Moreover, 2/3 evenings will be left completely free from any activity after work, so as to give space for possible solo explorations and/or necessary rest (optional activities will be suggested to those who would still like to move around as a group).
Last but not least, this trip was designed specifically for remote workers 💻, but those interested in joining as tourists will be absolutely free to participate, simply keeping in mind that it will be up to them to arrange their own activities during working hours, and the apartment will require silence and quiet throughout that time, out of respect for the other busy TripMates.
For any other question or curiosity, don’t mind sending me a message here on JoinMyTrip, or directly on Instagram (my personal account is Giulia.Barbuzzi).
Can’t wait to meet you soon,
Giulia

Como is a world renowned tourist destination and thousands of people flock here every year to explore the impressive lake and the surrounding natural landscape.
Depending on the time available, we can either explore its shores through an easy and extremely scenic hike, visit the city center with its Cathedral, luxury hotels and the funicular to Brunate, or, if time is tight, priority will be given only to visiting the center and town of Brunate.
