Join me, Radouane, a local guide and native of the Atlas Mountains, for an unforgettable 4-day trek through the heart of Morocco’s Berber culture. With over 5 years of guiding experience, I am deeply connected to the land and its people, and I am excited to share my knowledge with you. As a Berber from a long line of guides, I’ll offer you an authentic experience, connecting you with local communities and giving you a deeper understanding of the landscapes, hospitality, and rich culture of this stunning region. Throughout the trek, you’ll be accompanied by our expert team, including our talented chef, Said, who will prepare delicious, traditional meals along the way. We’ll be supported by Taboudrart, a strong and reliable mule, who will carry our luggage and ensure a smooth and comfortable journey across the rugged terrain. Together, we’ll trek through beautiful Berber valleys, moving from one scenic spot to another, while immersing ourselves in the warmth of Moroccan hospitality. Whether you’re hiking through lush valleys or scaling mountain peaks, this journey will be a unique and unforgettable exploration of the Atlas Mountains.

Throughout the trek, we’ll be staying in traditional guesthouses for 3 nights, each offering a cozy and authentic atmosphere. The guesthouses provide stunning views of the Atlas Mountains, and you’ll have the option of private rooms for added comfort. Marrakesh

Day 1
Day 1: Marrakech – Imi Oughlad – Tizi n’Tacht – Tiziane After an early departure from Marrakech, we begin our scenic drive south, winding through the Moulay Brahim Gorge and the upper valleys of the Atlas Mountains. We’ll continue our journey up to the foothills of the Western High Atlas, where we arrive at the trailhead in Imi Oughlad, with stunning views of Jbel Toubkal. Here, we’ll meet our muleteer crew and begin a 2-hour acclimatization hike through cornfields, pine, and juniper woods as we ascend towards Tizi n’Tacht pass. Along the way, we’ll stop to enjoy panoramic views over Imlil and the surrounding valleys. After a short break, we continue for another half hour to Imi n’Ifri, where we’ll enjoy a field picnic amidst the natural beauty of the Atlas. In the afternoon, we begin our descent for about 2.5 hours along a dirt track, following the Assif n’Ait Oussaden valley. We’ll make our way to the red-clay terraced village of Tiziane, where we’ll spend our first night in a comfortable guesthouse, with dinner and breakfast prepared by Said, our expert chef. Day 1
The starting point of our hike is the picturesque village of Imi Oughlad, nestled at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. From here, we’ll embark on our exciting adventure, immersing ourselves in the stunning landscapes and local culture as we begin our journey through this beautiful region of Morocco.

This is the Azzaden Valley, specifically the village of Tiziane, where we will spend our first night. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, Tiziane offers a peaceful retreat, allowing you to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Atlas Mountains before continuing our adventure the following day

Day 2
Day 2: Tiziane – Tizi n’Taghrhourte – D’knt After breakfast, we set off along the Assif n’Ait Oussaden valley, passing through walnut groves and fields of corn. We’ll ascend towards Tizi n’Taghrhourte pass (1995m), enjoying sweeping views along the way. From the pass, we’ll continue across a flat stretch to reach the Assaka spring, where we’ll pause for a well-earned field picnic in the quiet, tranquil surroundings. In the afternoon, we descend through forests and winding tracks until we reach the Berber village of D’knt (1870m). Here, we’ll enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night in a guest house, immersed in the local Berber culture. Distance/Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours of walking.

Day 2-3
This is the village of Tizgi, located in the D'knt Valley, where we will spend our second night. Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, this tranquil village offers a perfect setting to unwind, enjoy traditional Moroccan hospitality, and rest before continuing our trek through the Atlas Mountains.

Day 3
Day 3: D’knt – Tizi n’Tagdalte – Tizi Oussem We begin the day with a 3-hour hike through walnut groves, corn and barley fields, and past local sheep and goat herders. Along the way, we’ll encounter Berber women working in the fields, adding to the authentic experience of this region. We’ll reach the Tizi n’Tagdalte pass, followed by a descent through juniper trees to a small spring, where we’ll stop for a refreshing picnic. After lunch, we’ll continue our hike for about 3 hours, following winding tracks along the upper slopes. We’ll reach the beginning of the Assif n’Ait Oussaden valley and cross into the village of Tizi Oussem (1850m) for the third overnight. Distance/Duration: Approx. 6 to 7 hours of walking.

Day 3-4
This is the village of Tizi Oussem, where we will spend our third night. Nestled in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, Tizi Oussem offers a serene environment with breathtaking views, making it the perfect place to relax, enjoy a delicious meal, and recharge for the final leg of our trek.

Day 4
Day 4: Tizi Oussem – Ighouliden Waterfalls – Tizi n'Mzik – Imlil On the final day of our trek, we’ll head up the Azzadene Valley towards the summer village of Azib n’Tamsoult. From here, we’ll make our way to the Ighouliden Waterfalls, a stunning natural site, before continuing our ascent to Tizi n'Mzik pass (2489m), where we’ll enjoy a well-deserved lunch with breathtaking views. After lunch, we’ll descend into the village of Imlil, where we’ll take transport back to Marrakech. This day offers fantastic views, a memorable climb, and the chance to reflect on the incredible landscapes we’ve explored over the past few days. Distance/Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours of walking.

Imlil

Day 4
Here we are at the end of our trek, in the village of Imlil, where our adventure comes to a close. After an incredible journey through the Atlas Mountains, we’ll take some time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences and memories we've shared together. You’ll meet your driver here, who will take you back to Marrakech, concluding your memorable trek through one of Morocco’s most beautiful regions.
