On the first day, we will pick you up from the Görlitz train station and take you to the accommodation in the center of the city. Some interesting facts about Görlitz 👇🏻 Görlitz is the most eastern city in Germany, being one of the rare well-preserved towns to have survived WWII in Eastern Germany. Görlitz is actually considered to be one of the best preserved cities in the whole Central Europe! 🏙 The city is a hidden gem having a lot of picturesque buildings and charming streets. The city kind of looks like from a fairy tale. Perfect place for perfect Instagram pictures! 🖼 Görlitz (a.k.a. Görliwood) 🎬 has been a popular film location for many mainstream movies in the recent years. Films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel, Inglorious Bastards, Monuments Men, Around The World in 80 Days, and The Book Thief were all filmed in the lovely streets of Görlitz. Because the city was spared from destruction during WW2, it serves as a perfect filming location for many films that try to capture the setting of the pre-war Germany. Görlitz is located right on the Polish-German border. ⛳ And we mean literally at the border, it takes 3 minutes walk to get to the city of Zgorzelec in Poland. These two places, Görlitz and Zgorzelec, used to be one city but were divided after the war. ℹ The closest airports are the Berlin Brandenburg airport (BER) & Dresden Airport (DRS) in Germany, as well as the Prague airport (PRG) in Czech Republic & the Wroclaw airport (WRO) in Poland. Pick up the one that suits you the best. In case of any questions or help needed in regards to the organization of your arrival - we are here for you! 🆓 For a fun start of our trip and immersing in the local culture – at this day we booked a visit of the local brewery with a cellar tour, beer tasting and buffet dinner (free of charge). The tour starts at 18:00h – so please make sure to arrive at latest around 17:00h in Görlitz in order not to miss the brewery visit! The rest of the time is planned for settling into the apartment, getting to know each other and resting.

In the late morning hours we will hit the road to Zittau. ➡ Zittau is located in the German State of Saxony and is actually the south easternmost town in the region. Zittau is a beautiful baroque old town surrounded by the astonishing Zittau mountain region, the smallest low-mountain range in Europe. Once we arrive in Zittau we will take a ride on a narrow-gauge steam-powered railway 🚂 through the Zittau Mountains all the way to Oybin. The steam railway began regular service in November 1890 and still runs daily in steam operation – can you imagine that? During our ride, we will pass beautiful villages and charming landscapes. 🚞 In Oybin we will be able to see amazing beehive-shaped rock formations. On top of them, there are ruins of a castle and monastery that we will visit. In order to discover some of the best view points - be prepared for a little hike! 😊 In the late afternoon hours we will start our journey from Zittau to Liberec, the fifth-largest city in the Czech Republic. Liberec is undoubtedly one of the Czech Republic’s secret gems that we will have the opportunity to explore. We will overnight there and have some free time to wander around the city, see the best attractions and taste the delicious Czech cuisine. 🧆

In the morning we will check out from the accommodation in Liberec, have a tasty breakfast (on a self-pay basis) and then hit the road back to Görlitz. There will be some spare free time to relax and recharge your batteries a bit. In the afternoon hours we are heading for an adventure. We will go on a boat trip along the Neisse river right on the border between Germany and Poland, so get ready for some action! 🚣🏻‍♂️ 🎉 In case of bad weather - there are few other options that we can choose from. We can either visit a museum, a nice coffee bar, go bowling or do something else. Open for your suggestions and wishes! 🌆 In the evening we will explore the twin city of Görlitz - Zgorzelec in Poland. We will have a yummy, traditional dinner together that we will take care of! 😉 All you have to do is enjoy and have a good time!

Day for checking out from the apartment in Görlitz. After the check-out we will start the day with a nice breakfast 🥣 (included) at a beautiful, cozy place. Then, we will have the amazing "Walk of Görliwood" guided tour that will show us all the impressive film locations in the city. 🎥 We are already excited and looking forward to this!
