Come join me and explore south Sulawesi (Makassar, Bira, Selayar and Taka Bonerate National Park) while diving and snorkeling! We are a group of 3 as of now. Looking for another 5 friends to join us! Taka Bonerate National Park is not as popular as other diving destinations in Indonesia, which is an additional advantage. The area is still untouched by dive tourism and can be considered one of the world's few remaining dive frontiers. The atolls rise abruptly from a deep oceanic trench and offer some fantastic wall diving opportunities in good visibility.

ABOUT ME: Hello! My name is Tracy. I am Indonesian, and I lived in Singapore for several years before returning to my home country. I am currently based in Jakarta. While I am a Graphic Designer by profession, I have been doing fewer design tasks lately and, instead, getting more involved in the tourism industry.

Accommodation: The facilities at the destination are rather limited so during this trip, we will be staying in a few types of accommodations – from a hotel on the main island to, a cottage at Taka Bonerate, and on the open upper deck of a boat for a night when we cross to the National Park. Bringing a sleeping bag is recommended. Do you have a question? Ask in the Q&A below!

Trip Itinerary
1

Makassar

Day 1
All participants are expected to arrive in Makassar in the morning. Depending on the arrival time, we will leave the airport and head to a local restaurant for breakfast, or lunch, or maybe even brunch, before heading to Rammang Rammang.
2

Rammang Rammang Karst Village

Day 1
Rammang-rammang, a stunning destination nestled in the heart of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Known for its breathtaking limestone cliffs rising above lush greenery, this place offers a mesmerizing landscape that is perfect for adventurers and nature enthusiasts. From Rammang-rammang, we will right away head to Bira, about 3 hours' journey by car.
3

Tanjung Bira

Day 1-3
We will stay in Tanjung Bira for two nights and on one of the days, we will have water activities such as snorkelling and diving! Choose what you want to do in advance, so everything can be arranged accordingly.
4

Taka Bonerate

Day 3-6
From Tanjung Bira, we will take the public ferry boat to cross to Selayar Island. Selayar Island is the last island before getting to Taka Bonerate National Park. Upon arrival on Selayar Island, we will continue our journey to the port on the other side of the island of Selayar to get on board our boat. We will be using the same boat while exploring Taka Bonerate National Park.
5

Selayar Island

Day 6-7
After back from Taka Bonerate, we will stay one night on Selayar Island at a beach cottage before heading back to Makassar. This will be our last night on the island. Chill and enjoy the night, gathering together for story sharing, or just relax by the beach.
6

Makassar

Day 7-8
After returning from Selayar, we will stop to visit the Phinisi shipbuilding site before heading to Makassar. The journey back to Makassar will be similar to the one we took on the first day. We will probably only arrive in Makassar around dinnertime.
