Welcome to an extraordinary journey through the heart of Swiss winter, where the enchantment of the season meets the elegance of Southern Switzerland. Our destination: Ticino. We'll explore the charming cities of Lugano, Bellinzona, and Locarno. This immersive experience promises a rich blend of culture, history, and winter culinary delights, all set amidst picturesque views and local eateries.

About me: Hi, I'm Ivan and I'm actually a local of this region, I was born and grew up here. I love to travel and discover new things. This time, I want to show you my place and its hidden gems. I'm going to be your tour guide and share all the knowledge I have about this region.

Accommodation: Enjoy a 3-night stay in a comfortable bed and Breakfast or a Small apartment. The Rooms will be shared or private. The accommodation is in a strategical spot between all three Locations that we are going to visit. Stazione FFS

Day 1

On this day we will all meet at the train Station FFS in Lugano which is not far away from the accommodation, I will come and pick you up here, so that all participants can arrive when they want. At the accommodation we will have some time to get to know each other, plan all the details for the next days, see the surroundings and go outside for activities, we could go to a bar, restaurants, it's up to decide.

Locarno

Day 1-2

On the second day, we'll venture to Locarno, a city basking in over 2300 hours of sunshine each year and known as one of the hottest spots in Switzerland, situated on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Locarno is characterized by its southern vegetation, featuring palm trees, which lend it a distinctive charm. The heart of the city is the Piazza Grande, renowned for hosting the annual film festival. Strolling through its narrow alleys, with its typical café and bars, we will reach the Visconti Castle, dating back to the 12th century. Of course, we will also stroll on the lake shore.

Ascona

Day 2

If you're visiting Locarno, Ascona is a must-see destination not to be missed. We'll also make a stop in this picturesque and characteristic village, known for hosting the famous Jazz Ascona festival. Here, we'll surely find time to enjoy the breathtaking views and savor some delicious food. If time permits, we'll head to Monte Verità, which offers a mesmerizing panorama and is renowned for attracting artists the beginning of the 20th century. Among the most famous figures associated with this place is Hermann Hesse, one of the most prominent literary figures.

Bellinzona

Day 2-3

On the third day, we will be heading to the capital of this Canton, Bellinzona. We will be seeing the Piazza del sole “The gran place”. We will plunge into history and see the fortified walls of Castelgrande, Montebello, and Sasso Corbaro, all declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to explore Bellinzona's old town with its charming cobbled streets, city walls and old buildings.

Lugano

Day 3-4

On the fourth day, we will be heading to Lugano, a city overlooking the picturesque Lake Lugano. Here, you'll wander through the center, uncovering designer boutiques, discover Via Nassa, the most famous of Lugano’s historical streets. You won't miss the chance to walk along the lake's shores or explore the gorgeous Parco Ciani, one of Switzerland's most beautiful parks. And if you think you are going to see this city less than the others, don't worry, our accommodation is just a 15-min car ride away. And Lugano has the best places to go out. This will also be the day where everyone goes home, we will all go to the station and from there everyone can head home.
