Lisbon is a truly amazing city, full of well-known, must-see places but also hidden gems. We will try to strike a balance between the two, do lots of walking and sightseeing, but also make sure to stop an enjoy a beer or cocktail in one of the many cool little bars. Pack comfortable shoes, SPF, and good mood - we’re gonna have a fun 5-day trip, creating memories to last a lifetime!
About me! Hi! My name is Ioana, I’m an avid traveler, always on the lookout for beautiful places to explore. This August trip will be my 4th time in Lisbon and I’m excited to take some of you along for the ride! Organizing trips is part of my day job, but I love it so much that I’m also doing it in my free time.
Details about the accommodation: For this trip, we will stay at a nice hotel, located just steps away from Avenida da Liberdade, one of the main commercial arteries of Lisbon. This will make it easy for us to explore by foot as much as possible. The hotel is tried&tested, my last stay there was in June 2023. It’s a clean, decent, and friendly property, with a great location.

Trip Itinerary

Lisbon
Day 1-2
We’ll meet at the hotel, check-in or drop our luggages (depending on everyone’s arrival time). Once we are all there, we’ll start exploring the center of Lisbon, starting from Avenida da Liberdade, to Rossio Square, Praca do Comercio etc. Along the way, we’ll stop whenever we feel the need, to take in the views, enjoy a beer or just click a few photos.

Lisbon
Day 2-3
We’ll continue exploring the neighborhoods of Lisbon, passing through Bairro Alto, Alfama, Chiado etc. Our tuk-tuk tour will be a fun way to learn about the history of Lisbon, and I’m sure you’re gonna love our guide, he’s one of my favorite people in Lisbon! We’ll finish the tour at Castelo S. Jorge, where we can visit the grounds of the castle and enjoy the fantastic city views.

Belém
Day 3-4
Today we’ll take a trip to Belem, visit the Jeronimos monastery, see the Belem tower and enjoy the best pasteis de nata in the city (well, just outside the city!) On our way back to Lisbon, we’ll decide together what area we want to explore, depending on how tired everyone feels - it’s okay if we choose to just have a nice dinner in one of the many outdoor restaurants in Praca do Comercio.

Lisbon
Day 4-5
On our 4th day, we’ll take a 30-min trip to Cascais, one of the beautiful coastal resorts surrounding Lisbon. We’ll stroll through the old town, admire the port area, have a bite in one of the many taverns, before making our way back to Lisbon. In the evening, we’ll have our farewell dinner with a fantastic fado show. This is one of my favorite fado places in Portugal and I’m so happy that I can share it with you! On our 5th day, depending on flight times, we will do some more exploring, e.g. walk along the quai at Cais do Sodre, check out the TimeOut Food market, do a bit of souvenir shopping, etc. Reaching the end of our trip, I hope you will have had an amazing time and will go back home with wonderful memories!
