Trip Itinerary

Lilongwe
Day 1-2
After arriving in Lilongwe I will pick you up from the airport and depending on how everyone feels we can do a small city tour or relax for the day at the hotel. In the evening we are going out for dinner where you can have a taste of the local cuisine, but there are also alternative dishes.

Senga Bay
Day 2-3
In the morning we will discover the city with its local market. Visit World War I Memorial and climb the tower to have the breathtaking view of the city. Stop at Lilongwe Central Musjid, old town mall. Walk around Lilongwe and visit the Wild Life Centre. After lunch, we will start our road trip and drive to the lake which is around 1,5hrs away. On the way, we stop at Salima to experience the way of life so close to the lake.

Cape Maclear
Day 3-5
In the morning, we are having breakfast in front of the water before heading to mingle with the local fisherman on the beach. After a boat trip, we are heading south along the lake to reach our next destination. Cape Mclear is at the southern end of Lake Malawi, famed for its crystal-clear turquoise waters. This golden strip of beach is considered part of the Lake Malawi National Park, and is surrounded by mountainous islands and coastline. Day 2 we can be flexible and everyone relaxes on the beach, or we do a small village tour/hiking.

Liwonde National Park
Day 5-7
We leave Cape Mclaer in the morning and continue or road trip to Liwonde National Park with a stop-over at Mangochi for lunch.Liwonde is perhaps the most popular of all of Malawi’s game parks, with its beautiful riverine setting and teeming wildlife, offering thrilling safaris. We can decide to do a boat safari or game drive. Wildlife includes quite large numbers of elephants, and the river attracts countless hippos and crocodiles. Lion, cheetah and wild dog have been recently reintroduced into Liwonde.

Blantyre
Day 7-8
We will leave the National Park before noon and heading to Blantyre the second-largest city in Malawi and the financial/commercial hub. Here I will show you around the city, which is known for its British colonial architecture.

Lilongwe
Day 8-9
After breakfast, we are heading back to Lilongwe through a beautiful scenery, local villages, seeing day to day life of rural Malawi. Once rested, we are going out for dinner to reflect on our trip and enjoy Lilongwes night-life. I will organize the way to the Airport for some who are leaving the country.
